you just spray water without root booster?
I put my leafs vertically against the wall of a container. Only the roots and new plant touch the soil. It stops them laying wet and rotting if the soils too moist, also doing it vertical can save space
i will try this 👍
Thank you! When I did this, it rotted .
Wow very smart idea I'll try it❤
That’s what I’ve done to mine, put them in vertical - rooted and everything
Same here @@anneshirley9560
: you don’t need soil for the leaf to grow, just grab a bowl or a tray then lay the leaves there, then act like those leaves are your toxic relationships and leave it alone (correct me if I’m wrong)
Where do they get their water from is it from the leaf itself?
@@daym8the baby succulents will grow out of the “mother” leaf which provides it with water until it either dies off or you pick it off.
They don’t need soil to start growing.
What I do is put them in a tray like that and move them when they get crowded.
Lol I just recently found this out! I had 3 fallen leaves & figured I'd put them in soil when they calloused. I put them on the top of my bookshelf by the window sometime in May & completely forgot about them. I remembered them about 2 weeks ago & assumed they were shriveled up but 2 actually had baby plants AND roots! I put them in rooting powder and soil. Sadly they didn't last long, the weather here been overcast with smoke in the air due to wildfires from the previous weeks so they ended up with too much moisture and not enough sunlight. I couldn't believe they actually did better on top of my bookshelf
😂😂
I’ve been doing it totally wrong. I have been sticking them in the soil horizontally. Nothing happens lol I’m going to try this. Thanks so much!
I’ve been doing the same 😂
You should definitely see the succulent arrangements on my channel. You will like it very much.🙏❤️🌸☺️
Tried this way too and still can’t lol
Same😂
Did it work
Sometimes I go around Home Depot at the plant section looking for leaves detached from the mother plant just like these that I can take home and regrow lol Saves me money
I do the same thing🤣
Do you leave the cuttings/ leaves out for Callous or not?
@@Official-Geniusasad- i do. But most of the cuttings that I get are succulent ‘cause they’re small lol😂😂 they’re easy to hide
It's called "proplifting" 😇
There's only like a half dozen species they sell at home depot....
So cute! How do you support them afterwards?
What?! Ridiculous amazing!
Choo cute...
Thank U for this video
What spray can are you using?
that's only 4 weeks? 😮 I have been doing something wrong then
Lol same, I’ve had mine for a month and a half and they have the tiniest buds ever
Sometimes it can take more than usual. Also during summer, succulent leaves grow slowly....😊😊🌻🌻
You can learn in detail from this video 👉 ruclips.net/video/yp6-yGS-OOU/видео.html
Possibly but remember that not all leaves will take. Give it like a 30% chance the leaf will grow
Mine also some leaves are growing I didn’t water them it took more than month
mine had been 2 months..LOL
So cute!
That isn’t 100% true, I have a succulent nursery and I put them in normal soil then don’t do anything and they sprout quite fast all though this will work to
But my turns all black and mushy if I do so. Even if soil is dry.
@@vsen7Try letting the leaves callus first, it can help w root rot
@@thebabythesavage I let them callous first. But before callous process is complete they become mushy.
I guess temperature and health of the mother plant whose leaf is being used for propogation is the key.
I do that a lot got quite a few thks
Terimakasih informasinya kak
Cool but how do you plant them after they sprout 😅
Wrong side down buddy. They’ll work better the other way. With the stem pointed down and into the soil.
Ima have to make my own soil mix after I’m done growing the batch of baby succulents i have right now
Wow beautiful
Ty!
Wooww this is nice❤❤❤
then it should leave like that when theres root?
i tried leaf propergating outside here in Florida. Sadly they die everytime. I tried inside my house where its 73° 24/7 and the leafs immediately start growing roots within a week! I think the cold air in the house definitely helps them compared to outside. Once the leaf has bloomed a flower then slowly introduce it to outside weather. WATCH OUT 🐿️ WILL EAT THEM
Mashalla ❤❤❤❤
So Amazing ✨🥰
Mine died from rot maybe because I sprayed the leaves too often?
I subbed could you please give us a proper watering schedule please
does cocofiber work?
I haven't been able to successfully propagate 😢 i have one leaf ghat gree a baby, but i didnt even try i just foind it in my plants pot one day. I will keep trying tho lol
I just leave the whole leaf laying on top of a pot. Water the soil before putting it on, put it on, *ignore it for a few weeks*
I did it accidentally, years ago; now we have Kalanchoe coming out of our ears ❤😂
lol I never lay them on a tray. I literally just stick the leaf in the ground and a few weeks later, it is growing. People fuss too much over succulent propagation!
You should definitely see the succulent arrangements on my channel. You will like it very much.🙏❤️🌸☺️
Not so easy if you're in an arid environment. Where I am the soil dries up extremely quickly in shallow pots, even in shade. I've tried the complete neglect method and it only results in shriveled, dead leaves and heartbreak.
one of my succulent leaf grew roots but not any baby plant yet. it has already been more than 1 month
What about jelly bean plant leaf ... The baby start coming but it died what should I do when the baby plant is visible
I have tried this method a lot of times but still my leaves are rotting or sometimes becoming mushy I also put it in only coco peat and I have also tried putting only in soil
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
They sprout without water too.
Others say a dark place?!? Which is the best? And you do spray them? Directly or just the soil?!? 😮
I leave them sat *on top* of watered soil (watered; not wet) in a shady/dappled light area of the garden (south east England), then totally ignore them
Don't water it, don't spray it, don't cover it or put it in a cupboard etc - seriously, 95% of the problem people have with horticulture is people *do too much*
Put them on some dirt, leave them outside, forget about them.
❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
What do I do with them after they sprout? I know I should put them in a pot but do I bury some of it or do I just place it on the top of that as well
Yes, if you notice that some of the leaves have roots along with pups, you can bury the roots. 🌷🌱
@@Plantalogy yep. Both pups and roots!! Thank you
I want to put some plants in my bathroom. Ive hot a vent in ceiling so low humidity. Can you tell me which succ will grow best there?🧐🤔
You can keeo haworthia🌻🌻
Daughter grows aloe
So cuteeeeeeee❤😊
Does peat moss work? Or do i need coco peat?
Yes, peat moss also works. You also can use succulent soil mix😊
Here is the link if you want to get one pack👉 Miracle-gro succulent mix- amzn.to/3FtO1oP
@@Plantalogy thank you! I’ve had trouble growing succulents from leaves so this video is soo helpful
Does it matter which season you do this in?
Yes, the season does matter. For better results, try to start in fall-early spring. 🌻🌱🌻🌱
@@Plantalogy thanks for the tip!
What temperature u growing?
+1 i'd also love to know! I'm based in Singapore. It's humid here and ranges 28°c to 32°c daily. Plenty of sun. But my succulents keep failing to propagate even though i leave them alone, no watering. Blabla. Everyone makes it sound easy but it feels quite hard here!!!
Hi! I trying this for the first time. Do they need to be covered & how much sun do they need? I spritz mine once a day, is that enough?😊 Tia
I think once a day is actually too much. Avoid watering them too much to make sure they don't rot! Just feel if the soil is moist and only when it isn't moist spray them a little
Well what i do is just lay the leaves by the window and do nothing, i don's spray or do nothing they don't even lay on dirt or something 😅😊
Thats the proper way to do it@yarakayan
So I may have made a mistake but I am unsure, I did this but I mostly put the succulent leaf under the soil, should I move them around?
Yeah keep them on top of the soil, sorry this is probably too late
@@spideytheloserthat's ok, lesson learned for me😂 but I collected some more and I'm trying again
I have the most success in sphagnum moss
I try same but the leaves become mushy and black even if I don't spray water.
The season does matter. Succulent leaves grow best between fall-early spring... Summer can rot/dry out the leaves without any reason.
@@Plantalogy pigeons have destroyed my trailing jade. And I was trying to revive whatever left. 😢
That was unfortunate. 😥😥😥
I thought you keep them in dark first then light? And that you don’t spray them? Omg this is so confusing!
Mine never work. They just rot.
Start in the fall. 🌷🌱
Does the soil have to dry completely before the next misting?
it says mist whenever it feels dry i wouldnt let it go completely bone dry
And water only when you see pups and roots together coz when you water when only roots, there may be a possibility of no pups showing up.
This is what I lately came to know. Thanks for the reply though.
@@daym8 cool i just proplifted a bunch of leaves and just put them in soil
That cool abundant cat! You will enjoy watching them sprout just watch out for mealey bugs if you see em sprinkle wee amount of cinnamon powder.
@@daym8 thanks for the tip! I keep that in mind
Can we propagate jade plant like this?
I think some look like jade leaves but my own is too small to try it
@@bebecheez mine is also very small right now just asking if I can do it in future
You can, I was bored so I tore off one of my huge jade plants leaves and stuck it in a random pot of soil I had laying around, it took root but took 4 months to actually show signs of growth. It mostly grew roots and just now is it starting to grow a little bud
Yes, you can. 😊
Yes, you are right. It take too long to sprout. 🌷🌷
Then what?
Never work for my jade, always died turns wrinkly , dark after a month no root nothing. I dont know how all these happene on RUclips only
This method will not work on jade to propagate them you need to cut the healthy stem and put it in well drained soil.
I can’t propagate a succulent to save my life
I do this all the time 🪴
