I did once mistake "an occurrance" for a cat? Was staying in this big old house my parents had at the time. I was staying up late, probably drawing or something, when I heard a glass fall over / drop in the kitchen next to the room I was in. A very recognizable sound, glass on wood (not a breaking glass). "Damn cats!" I thought annoyed and went to pick up the glass. There was no cat and no glasses fallen over or on the floor or nothing. And nothing else either I could think would have made that sound. Creepy.
Both of my parents saw a dark figure of a man around the kitchen several times.
And I don't even believe in ghosts...

Yes, I think asians are more perceptive and are therefore kind of used to meeting spirits lol. Also Asian culture is usually more respectful towards the dead than Western cultures, I think mainly because many traditions are still kept alive in Asian countries, unlike Pagan or Native American traditions which where sadly pretty much erased by Christian beliefs. My grandparents were Japanese, my grandma used to say that my grandad visited her after he passed away and asked her to go with him... but she always answered that we (their grandchildren) were too young lol

As Chinese myself, I can tell you my grandma does indeed have lots of superstitions. It less about spirits tho (spirits is considered more Japanese than Chinese since Shindo has more to do with it) but more about the ghosts of ancestors. The practice of burning paper gold in stoves as offering to ancestor still persist till this day, and my grandma scolded me when I threw garbage into the stove lol. After Buddhism dominated main land China, now modern Chinese would consider Taoism believes to me mere superstitions, which perhaps lead into Chinese people no longer afraid of ghosts. However, many Taoism traditions can still be traced, such as many different methods of exorcism and such.
If the can dropped that many times, i would have grabbed the ghost and used my dads belt on it
