+Andrew Littler I think Heart is supposed to be "ether", or soul energy. Probably the most important of those five rings because it's tuned in to the world's electromagnetic field, meaning you can communicate with and influence ALL life within it. Plus, Captain Planet could never be properly summoned without Heart binding consciousness to the other four main elements that help make up his physical form. Oh man, I'm sounding like a straight-up geek (lol)! Point is, Heart is not as weak a power as it's usually made out to be. Quite the opposite, in fact. ;-)
+Andrew Littler It's the most important ring. Without it the other rings are useless. One episode Zarm made the other 4 rings useless and the Heart Ring brought them back to life. It also prevents Ma-Ti's mind from being corrupted being the only ring able to do so.
"Our world is in peril. Gaia, the Spirit of the Earth, could no longer stand the terrible destruction plaguing our planet. She sent five magic rings to five young people: Kwame, from Africa, with the power of Earth. From North America: Wheeler, with the power of Fire. From the Soviet Union, Linka, with the power of Wind. From Asia: Gi, with the power of Water. And from South America: Ma-Ti, with the power of Heart. When the five powers combine, they summon Earth's greatest champion: CAPTAIN PLANET. Go, Planet! He was and still is a cool old man. Making this kind of American cartoon in part of a Japanese anime format, owning WCW when the company was associated heavily with foreign wrestling during that time, and making diversity of different channels especially in the late 80's and early 90's. This man was really ahead of his time and was a kid at heart.
They say that Captain Planet was American animated. This style looks so much like older 80s / early 90s Japanese animation. Just pure brilliance in a short snippet.
It took the Amazon, Siberia, and my freakin' state all being on fire to make me realize I didn't appreciate the good captain enough when he was on. Corny as he was, Captain Planet had a message more immediate and relevant to the real world than any other show I saw growing up.
The 80s and 90s was the best era to cartoon animation, they were so dead set on realistic, so much so that the 100% of the notable females of this cartoon are pretty darn hot. But yeah, the Power is Yours.
Not gonna lie this brings flashbacks of 25 years ago laying on the couch before school watching cartoons. Captain Planet, Pokémon, wacky world of Tex Avery, animaniacs Lol
Talk about the most slept on superheroes of all time Captain Planet and the Planeteers. They were Power Rangers before they became a thing. They are the ones who taught me about pollution and taking better care of our environment. My favorite ring powers were fire, water and earth.
@Supraboyes You've reminded me about a really goofy thought: The emissions from cars powered by vegetable oil just might be absorbed by the plants grown to make more such fuel.
It's probably the awareness of what it all means. If we as a society were to put our heads together on "reduce, reuse, recycle," we would accomplish, "Let our powers combine," and probably slow down the rise of the oceans.
If the greenlighting of things like "Gumball" (that's supposed to be a cat?!) and "Thundercats Roar" (aka "Thundercats Doh!") are any indication, it's probably due to the know-how and funding being out of position.
Kwame: let our power combine! Earth! Wheeler: fire! Linka: Wind! Gi: water! Ma-Ti: heart! Captain Planet: By your powers combined, *I AM CAPTAIN PLANET!*
I've been watching alot of Captain Planet right now, it's given me the mood to try to make my local Raisin' Cane's that I work at more environmentally safe, everytime I get scheduled to work there, I always get pumped up to clean up around here since I'm a floater (that means I clean up all the shit around the place) & I'm the only one who does the freaking sanitation checklist most of the time but that being said, I really like what this show is doing and kind of had the idea of having a reboot of the series where it has the Planeteers turning into there own superheroes, fusing with eachother in different combinations to make new ones, but still summoning their powers to create Captain Planet [and the heroes' designs would be based off the Elemental Heroes from Yugioh GX (with Neos being shown as Captain Planet and the Neo Spacians being shown later in the series as pets for the Planeteers and powerups for Captain Planet, leading to Neos's Fusions) the only episodes I have problem with is the ones that talk about Overpopulation ("The Population Bomb" & "Numbers Game"), I mean I don't think the problem is that there's too many people in this world, I think the real problem is that there are too many people who don't understand the importance about being eco-friendly, so I think people have a right to have how many kids they want as long they have the responsibility, money, and caring to do so and that they teach them how to protect the environment, instead of making third-and-later born children of their family feel like they're the problem also I want Warner Bros to do a Direct-to-DVD movie of this series where they it's about how companies use Recycling in their public marketing to get people to waste and buy more, and that we should focus more on reusing and reducing what we use instead of thinking that all we need to do is recycle only but what do you think?
The DIC seasons of Captain Planet and the Planeteers are regarded as the best by most fans, several of their episode have a more anime-like quality to their artstyle, in particular strong episodes like "The Conqueror", "The Ultimate Pollution", "Mission to Save Earth, Pts. 1 and 2", "Heat Wave", "Mind Pollution", "Isle of Solar Energy", "Summit to Save Earth, Pts. 1 and 2", "Scorched Earth", "Hate Canal", "Utopia", "The Deadly Glow", "A Perfect World", "The Dream Machine", "O.K. at the Gunfight Corral", "If It's Doomsday, This Must Be Belfast", "A Formula for Hate", "Canned Hunt", and the contraversial "Population Bomb". The series itself is owned by Turner Broadcasting/Warner Bros. DIC was only contracted by Turner to produce the series, Turner retained all rights.

This was a gem from the 1990s, and I used to love watching this back then!!!
Thank you Ted Turner
He was and still is a cool old man. Making this kind of American cartoon in part of a Japanese anime format, owning WCW when the company was associated heavily with foreign wrestling during that time, and making diversity of different channels especially in the late 80's and early 90's. This man was really ahead of his time and was a kid at heart.
@@philliplandry4139 IKR?
@@decimatorentertainmentstud8523 For me, he was.
Omg one of my favorites of all time the nostalgia is definitely killing me the good times here
Say what you want about these 90s cartoons they knew how to create plots and make an intro
It's so weird hearing "from Soviet Union"... I was born in Soviet Union and the country, I was born in, no longer exists. Strange feeling.
Then what country is it now? just curious to know.
Soviet Union separated in many countries: Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia, Estonia, ect. I think now it's 20 separate countries.
ScarlettM Yes I know, I think I didn't make the right question. What country is now the place where you were born?
Claudio Zúñiga Gamarra Russia
Also strange when I heard “Asia” as a country
This animation was amazing, if you listen closely you can hear each ring has it's own uniqe sound when it's used.
They say that Captain Planet was American animated. This style looks so much like older 80s / early 90s Japanese animation. Just pure brilliance in a short snippet.
A lot of American shows like this had their intros animated in Japan
@@MRNIIK That explains it!
So basically all that Gaia needs in order for her to lose her shit, is to see gridlock on the Highway with the cars continuously honking.
that so funny gaia also a milf
Yeah well a lot of Americans are pretty pissed off at the gridlock in our congress!
Demonic Rabbit I mean, wouldn't you?
I wouldn't want to live in city that looks like a SimCity hellscape for sure :)
She’d self destruct if she ever saw the 405
Happy 30th Anniversary to Captain Planet this year in 2020. Its my #1 favorite Cartoon Show from the 1990's.
It took the Amazon, Siberia, and my freakin' state all being on fire to make me realize I didn't appreciate the good captain enough when he was on. Corny as he was, Captain Planet had a message more immediate and relevant to the real world than any other show I saw growing up.
High five to all the planeters out there!!! Don’t stop ! We are the change in hats needed 👍👍👍
Feels good that their is a captain planet crossover now.
and it was fantastic.
This Awesome Cartoon Old TV Series Brings Back Childhood Memories, and I Loved It a Lot. :'-)
Where does the time go ...so much memories 90s was amazing
One of the best cartoons from my childhood. Love Captain Planet.
"Our world is in peril"........sigh......truer words have never been spoken.
The 80s and 90s was the best era to cartoon animation, they were so dead set on realistic, so much so that the 100% of the notable females of this cartoon are pretty darn hot. But yeah, the Power is Yours.
This animation is so good
Not gonna lie this brings flashbacks of 25 years ago laying on the couch before school watching cartoons. Captain Planet, Pokémon, wacky world of Tex Avery, animaniacs Lol
I get so happy when the dolphin gets freed from the net and jumps in the air.
90's was the gold age of cartoons!
Talk about the most slept on superheroes of all time Captain Planet and the Planeteers. They were Power Rangers before they became a thing. They are the ones who taught me about pollution and taking better care of our environment. My favorite ring powers were fire, water and earth.
We grow up with the best teachers
Have you bought a Tesla.
@Supraboyes You've reminded me about a really goofy thought: The emissions from cars powered by vegetable oil just might be absorbed by the plants grown to make more such fuel.
this animation had some of the coolest sound designs.
Also, I love the fact that Kawmi was the leader.
What made you like him being the leader?
@@mrpj1390 Probably the cool Earth powers.
Kwame (voiced by LeVar Burton) was a little bit wise beyond his years.
This massage still resonates with our world 🌎and what’s happening with the Mother Nature
Why is this making me cry? 😢 Such fond memories....
It's probably the awareness of what it all means. If we as a society were to put our heads together on "reduce, reuse, recycle," we would accomplish, "Let our powers combine," and probably slow down the rise of the oceans.
With as much as we’re trying to educate the youth about global warming and pollution, why the fuck do we not have an epic reboot of this?
If the greenlighting of things like "Gumball" (that's supposed to be a cat?!) and "Thundercats Roar" (aka "Thundercats Doh!") are any indication, it's probably due to the know-how and funding being out of position.
This is so much more relevant today in an era of consumerism, overconsumption and technology!
Watch & Judge don't forget over population
I loved this show as a kid!! ❤
80 and 90 = BEST CARTOON PERIOD EVER!
I miss watching this show.❤
As do I.
@@tyrone162 Wow.
@champ78 I wish them the best of luck.
this character needs a revival and a new movie
Yes!!
i feel so so sorry for today's kids
yeah, me too
CALJ154 o
Ankush Shetty why
Ankush Shetty Yeah I was a 90's kid too & kids of today have NO IDEA what it was like when WE were their age!
The kids of today are sorry. They're childhood is going to suck, which showcases how humanity is devolving as a species.
Wow this brought me back to when I was 7 years old🥲
Damn, he deadass said the Soviet Union
That tells you how old this series was - The fall of 1989 hadn't happened yet when this originally aired
Loved watching it in the early 90s
Heart is spirit, the 5th element so to speak.
this needs a reboot or even a live action movie - it is so good and has never been more true than every new day passing by
Loved this. Hope people don't make a ''dark version'' movie of Captain Planet.
I like it how the Soviet Union is a whole continent
Certain People would call this show woke today because of the diverse cast.
1995... I'll never forget those times when the captain planet earth day marathon would run every april...man have times changed...
Only Captain Planet, Master of all 4 elements could stop them.
But when the world needed him most
He vanished...
This world doesn't deserve Captain Planet...
@@yurionedge2199 AMEN. Show me a world worth saving, and it will be saved..until then, fuck it. Let it go to Hell.
This was one of my FAVORITES back in the 90's!
But they were deceived...for another ring was forged...
How can anyone hate Captain Planet? He's the best.
“From the Soviet Union” wow I feel old
How can one minute be so damn epic?
Ah the 90s, when a superhero could have a mullet and still be cool.
Kwame: let our power combine! Earth!
Wheeler: fire!
Linka: Wind!
Gi: water!
Ma-Ti: heart!
Captain Planet: By your powers combined, *I AM CAPTAIN PLANET!*
Love this cartoons!! Our world is still in peril :-(
When the five powers combine, the Elemental Soldier Captain Planet is born! *Presented by Gaia.*
*GO PLANET!*
What Earth needs right now
Just started watching this series and dang am I in love with that guitar solo in the intro! :3
Does anyone ever wish there was an instrumental version with no words?
Powerful soundtrack 🔥
This needs to be on *Kids React* .
I've been watching alot of Captain Planet right now, it's given me the mood to try to make my local Raisin' Cane's that I work at more environmentally safe, everytime I get scheduled to work there, I always get pumped up to clean up around here since I'm a floater (that means I clean up all the shit around the place) & I'm the only one who does the freaking sanitation checklist most of the time
but that being said, I really like what this show is doing and kind of had the idea of having a reboot of the series where it has the Planeteers turning into there own superheroes, fusing with eachother in different combinations to make new ones, but still summoning their powers to create Captain Planet [and the heroes' designs would be based off the Elemental Heroes from Yugioh GX (with Neos being shown as Captain Planet and the Neo Spacians being shown later in the series as pets for the Planeteers and powerups for Captain Planet, leading to Neos's Fusions)
the only episodes I have problem with is the ones that talk about Overpopulation ("The Population Bomb" & "Numbers Game"), I mean I don't think the problem is that there's too many people in this world, I think the real problem is that there are too many people who don't understand the importance about being eco-friendly, so I think people have a right to have how many kids they want as long they have the responsibility, money, and caring to do so and that they teach them how to protect the environment, instead of making third-and-later born children of their family feel like they're the problem
also I want Warner Bros to do a Direct-to-DVD movie of this series where they it's about how companies use Recycling in their public marketing to get people to waste and buy more, and that we should focus more on reusing and reducing what we use instead of thinking that all we need to do is recycle only
but what do you think?
This is a cool intro !!!
As a 90s kid, Captain Planet was my hero! The show’s message of environmentalism still inspires me today. "The power is yours!"❤🎉

I swear, that guitar riff is taken from the national geographic fanfare.
i am here only for this riff
ISO that intro song that starts from 0:09
Which would be appropriate, no?
I dont know why, but mentioning USSR had me in tears. Maybe because o that guitar solo.
Captain planet where r u ???"?"?
There is absolutely *NO* reason why this theme needed to go as hard as it did.
The 1st (maybe only one) Eco-friendly Superhero!!!
Loved this show as a kid!!
Say what you will about this show but had a god tier intro
