While this SUV may be outdated, and perhaps overpriced, they still hold their own, and the sales figure show for it. So, lets see why...

Bought my 2012 GX460 8 months ago. paid 23k and it had 97k miles. I do not regret trading in my 2014 Tacoma. The GX rides like a champ on and off road.
Do you experience the kdss lean ?

I see a '15 for $28k i know its unsurpassed refinement luxury & durability but I'm wondering if it has Adaptive Cruise, USB & Brake Hold
if not that adds too much outdated elements with the poor fuel economy
So I'll have to get the '17 Lexus RX350.... DARN
@@empowerimpact6324 they are super outdated trucks tbh even the seats are ugly and even though it’s a 15 model the interior looks early 2000’s even when these trucks came out brand new!
Just picked up a 2015 with 51k on the dash today. Haven’t ever had a Lexus before, but driving it home it felt right. Happy to see this
How much u pay?
We own a 2010. It has 337,000 miles. It has been a maintenance nightmare. We had to put a set of plugs in it. 1 coil pack, a couple of sets of brakes and a radiator lol. We own that one, a 99 4Runner and a 2000 4Runner. We have 1.5 million miles between the three and change oil every 20,000 miles. We have never done one major repair. After you own one you will never go back.

The GX 460 is and will be legendary! It is bullet proof and still retain the Lexus design language which is conservative, incremental improvements, luxurious , refined and just works. The 2022-2023 model year had the redesigned infotainment which was the main selling point for me. I bought a 2023 GX 460 Luxury with Sport Desing Package and port installed tow hitch and a bunch of other goodies. I love this truck!
Yep -same here! I intentionally did not want a twin turbo GX 550 V6 in the first introduction year and the back orders for the 560 were at least 6 months or more! The GX 460 drives great - smooth, steady and quiet; if I wanted a sports car I would not have purchased an SUV! My highway mpg is 22-25 at 65 mph! This is a great vehicle that I’d now gone for 2024!
Just purchased a -17 luxury model with 50,000 miles, serviced at the Lexus dealer every 5,000. Looks and drives like a brand new, LOVE IT!!
How much did you pay for if you don't mind me asking. I just bought a 2017 with 68k miles
@@highlanderNC-mr8fe It's been a year and a half, mid January 2023, and I think I paid $33,000 plus fees. Ca. fees😡. Still just a wonderful car, flawless really. You will love yours, I'm sure!!
@@Karlkn You got a great deal congrats. I paid 29200 but ended up paying 3400 more for an extended warranty to 150k. Now Im not so sure I needed to have bought that lol.
@@highlanderNC-mr8fe If you feel like doing an upgrade. I purchased a new front grill assembly from Amazon or eBay, a 2021 will fit perfectly in place of the somewhat dated one on the 2017. RUclips has at least one video walking you through it.
Not possible to even consider it overpriced when it will last two to three times longer than any other comparable truck..

Love my 2014 Premium GX. Outdated maybe to today's standards, but mine will still be running after today's cars break down
I wish I could go back in time and buy one of these instead of my Audi!!! These suvs last over 400K miles with no major issues I see them everywhere
Yes, it is a really nice car, reliable and unobtrusive. I don't evenn think it's looking outdated. In general, until a few years ago i didn't have toyota and lexus on my screen. But recently, their design has improved nicely so that, in combination with the reliability and the fair prices, i am thinking about buying one as my next car.

got a 2013 ES350 recently, ill never go back from lexus from this experience i imagine if you get one youll do the same they are amazing i dont even think the prices are that insane in the talks of ES cars and such
We own a 2010 Lexus gx460, a 99 4Runner and a 2000 4runner. We have 1.5 million miles between the 3 and have never had a valve cover off of any of them. And before you think we are great a maintenance. No. We use 5w30 Castrol in the 2 4Runners. We use 0w20 synthetic in the Lexus. We change oil every....wait for it...20,000 miles.

Just got a 2016 gx460 two months ago with 35k miles loving every moment!
I love my 2014. It’s great on road and off road. It’s a total base model, no heated seats, no blind spot monitor, and no air suspension (which is great in my opinion)

Bought one a year ago. Loooove it! Interior is top notch, exterior is sexy af,love the third row, took it on a round trip from kansas city to san diego, up to san fran ,to colorado springs and back to kc 5500k mile trip.was a beast on pacific coast highway,on the hills of san fran and the mountains of colorado. Couldnt be happier,also checked before i Bought it for the "lean", mine does not have it. Also on highway its like riding on a cloud. Better than my ls430
Might mention some that i looked at had the kdss lean,so beware if buying from far away , u can actually tell from photos from the rear.its pretty obvious,just ask for lots of pics and dont let people know what ur looking for so they cant try an hide it

Yes our two are both outdated. We have a 2010 and a 2015. They have a combined 450,000 miles and have never seen the shop or very good maintenance for that matter.
I bought a 2012 in 2021. It had 115K and looks like new. The GX has the bulletproof 4.6 and was built in Japan by the very best factory (also built FJ Cruisers}. Mine doesn't have the air suspension but the only other option wanted but is missing is the heated steering wheel.
What a great vehicle! Highly recommended.
Take the bear for a ride, to test out the rear window. 9L/100km(26mpg)? That’s a lot better than a 4runner, best I’ve ever seen interstate driving in a 4runner was 19mpg.
I love my Lexus. I tell people its like cheating on my spouse without cheating on my spouse. It always makes me smile to and from work.

You have a 4 runner with a LeXUS qualtiy ride and body.. and YEs- they will go where JEEPS won't. especially if you install lockers in front and rear..

The things that you describe are the exact things that I want in a vehicle. Does it have the same room in the driver's seat as the sequoia? I'm a big guy, and I'm 6'3". I know the entire interior space is smaller than the sequoia. I'm specifically asking about the driver's seat
I PREFER the stick to change 4w modes-- hate BUTTONS and switches for anything like that. LIKE the buttons for function control for interior stuff. LOVE the barn door.. and the timing CHAIN...
Timing chain a big plus for me..

Well, try out the new GX 550 and then make your decision ! Be aware that only the new GX 550 Trail Edition has the KDSS. The new GX 550 interior is less plush than gnf GX 460 if that matters to you! The new model will undergo inevitable upgrades too as feedback comes in from customers!

9L/100km? Really? Grandmaing my ‘23 GX the closest I could get is 10.5L on the highway using cruise control at 115kmph

Can I ask where you drove and got the 9/100km, is that over the Coquihalla by chance? What sort of tires was it riding on ?
It was on Hwy 1 through the Fraser Canyon and back, on all season tires, and the engine was eco mode.

It's the LUXURY top of the line model with every option out there. Also.. I just got brand new tires which are also top of line Michelins. Always garaged and looks in showroom condition. Also has the real semi aniline leather.

Its a lean that 4 runner an gx460 have. Ive seen u can fix it by replacing a spring and something else

FYI, 9L/100km = about 26mpg. I don’t think this result is accurate.
We have one. We average 20 on interstate at 70mph

….maybe, yet premium is recommended.
That front end IS BUTT UGLY- period.. But if I get one- I'll be cutting the bottom half of it off- for a special bumper with winch etc.. that is MADE to replace that part..
The grill is the ugliest design so unfortunately I'll never buy one.
Imagine buying an inferior vehicle because the grill looked cool 🤦♂️
