Hi everyone. I live in this neighborhood tucked in the southwest suburb of St. Louis county. Webster Groves. We have been here about 12 years now. We absolutely love this area. Probably one of the most liberal areas in all of St. Louis. There is a historical black community here in north Webster that is really interesting. This neighborhood has a mix of residents from working middle class to the ultra rich but we all coexist respectfully. My wife and I just had dinner at Olive & Oak last night. Everything was great, the wine, the atmosphere and the staff. They don’t look down upon anyone and every is treated is if the are special. The staff was a mixture of white, black, Hispanic gay straight just a very cool mix of people. Not stuffy at all…. Very loaf back and chilled. Our food was fabulous. I asked for my steak medium well and it actually came back medium well lol. If you haven’t been to olive & oak and you are for out town stop by our neighborhood have a drink and dinner. Feel free to drive around and look at the area. Beautiful in the fall!
Not sure why some of y’all are mad about how he reviews black owned restaurants. Black owned businesses have a sense of entitlement, that their own community should automatically support them, simply because we are a part of the same community. NO! Black owned businesses need to do a better job at EVERY facet of what a business is. Be BETTER than the other restaurants. Outdo them, in their own way and perhaps they’d get the support they deserve.
@@gm2054 she’s one of those ppl who must not watch him. I’ve noticed his attitude is different at black-owned restaurants. And when he goes to non-black owned restaurants he berates black owned restaurants, commenting on the menu items etc.
@@HARRIS4276 I actually do watch him. While I do think his judges black owned businesses harder than he does non-black owned business… but why wouldn’t he? Honestly, the expectations SHOULD be higher. I’m a business owner, and my goal is to be MUCH BETTER and I feel like I’ve achieved that. I have the support of black and non-black people. Who repeatedly come back to ME for what I do. If you don’t see the entitlement of SOME black owned businesses, then idk what to tell you
Facts! I will not person a black owned business simply because it’s black owned. I need the standard to high. At the end of the day I’m still spending money and I deserve quality in exchange for it. Period!
Chile!! This man here is something else I can clearly see the difference in how he acts in the different restaurants I can't with the boot licking 😂😂😂😂
💯 I’ve watched videos of him go to black owned restaurants that weren’t selling just soul food, they were creative like he states that he wants to see, but then he comments on menu prices and compares it to when he owned “three restaurants”. He even treats the staff better at other places.
We have a Shipley in TN. Its like a cake donut, and they are bigger than dunkin donuts. I live in St Louis now, and Emos is good, but I don't like the toasted raviolis...mine was very hard around the edges. But i will must definitely visit this restaurant.
The standards of a the community is an on going debate. Without bringing other communities as a comparison it is okay to want better of the people you interact with. I honestly believe people as a whole need general etiquette training for public settings but when you are in you own safe haven be you. Criticism is not a bad thing, it just tends to stir up feelings and emotions in us that make us question ourselves and only you being truthful with yourself can decide if you need an adjustment.
Next time you visit St. Louis, try Pharaohs Donuts 202 N 9th St. downtown St. Louis. It’s black owned too. Also Try Fluellen cupcakes in Dallas, TX. 1408 Elm St. 75202. The owner grew up in St. Louis.
Laronda Lewis U have a beautiful 😍 smile and peace ✌️ and Great Things to you and your family and friends 💯 Saying hello from Chicago Illinois 👍 on Thursday July 4th 2024😊Have you been to BLACK 🖤 Owned BLISS RESTAURANT in FLORRISSANT Missouri which has an Age requirement policy 🙏My name is Benjiman 🌹
He treat black own buisness bads but another side he brown nose too me but i like darius but he gotta get his mind right stop forgetting where he come from
No it’s ghetto. It shows a lack of home training. Very unpresentable . Why can’t we as black people stop presenting our negative traits. What’s wrong with being positive and well mannered. We’re not doing it for them, it’s for us!!!! We keep passing our step’n fetch’n behavior on to our children. Then we ask the question… What is wrong with our black children 😢
Great reviews but I wouldn’t eat none of that stuff lol never heard of it and it sounds and looks unappealing…. Yuk lol I’m just a country girl y’all eating boogie today lol

In Texas we drive past Shipley’s. It’s Round Rock Donuts, the Asian donut shop, and Voodoo if you drunk

Maybe he is giving his honest opinion. He gave his honest opinion on Asian restaurant and it was overall less than average.
Mr Chuck Rhoades, Sr. @ 1:10 😂
I am going try them l am from St Louis
Why every time he say "Za'atar" 🤣messy bun w/ the big eyes stare over
Best Toasted Ravioli in St. Louis is at Sunset 44 in Kirkwood
How is BLISS restaurant in Florrissant Missouri 🙏 Black Woman and Black Man owned ❤
Oh wow I have to go try this place ❤❤❤❤😂😂
I had to learn: time and place for everything. When you are in upscale environments whoever owns them requires change.
I’m a houstonian and I’m not really a fan of Shipleys… there are some Chinese mom and pop donut shops out here that are spectacular!
When Darius clicks that tongue, it’s so adorable

👀👀 That white man next to you looking you up & down is the cause of your move Darius, he's prejudice 😢
I think he was wondering if was he in the camera view with a splash of nosey. Lol
I don’t know about him being prejudice but he definitely got up to complain cause he didn’t want to be in his video. He kept looking over
