    I own a Rogue ST Max Heavenwood and it’s the first “7” wood I’ve ever had in the bag. I absolutely love it and it’s my favorite club in the bag. Out of the rough, fairway or tee, it’s a dream to hit. Flys high and stops like a 8 iron.

    I traditionally have had a 7 wood in the bag. I recently purchased the Heaven Wood Paradym to replace my 7 wood, to play between my Paradym 3 wood and TSR 4 Hybrid and I absolutely love it! It's been a great addition to the bag as I can play it similar to the distance of 5 wood or pull back and play the distance more as a 7 wood --- Great versatility! Also the Paradym woods might be the best out there...PERIOD (I use to hate Callaway products because they didn't suit my eye looking down, but they have made HUGE gains)!

    I have the paradigm 7 wood in my bag - superb club. So versatile and consistent - my go to for 200 yards carry. Never thought I would replace my old Titleist 7 wood but the Paradym 7 wood is brilliant

    I find my Callway Rogue Heavenwood goes 192 and the Rogue 7W 185 off the turf. Off the tee the HW goes 202 and the 7W 190. I play the Heavenwood and choke down for 7W distance. Very versatile club

    I've been playing a cobra 5 and 7 wood and they will have to pry them from my cold, dead hands! As an older, slower swing speed golfer forget the 3 wood and 5 iron. I'm not sure the brand makes much difference but the rails on the bottom of the cobra radspeed and speedzone give me some extra confidence.

    As swing speed comes down the extra size and length of the HW will be a benefit. I have a 9w 7w 5w and theres not enough gap between them all. I can get rid of the 5 and 7 and just have the HW instead.

    I just bought one of these and I like what Im experiencing so far. It is going to take a few more strikes on the simulator to get it dialed in however. I think its a good 5/4 iron replacement for long part 3s or long 180 carry approach shots on smaller greens. Not a replacement for 5/4 irons but for certain courses with certain troublesome holes I will carry this with me.

    I have two 7 woods. One goes high (Taylormade) and goes 160-170; and one goes low (Titleist) and goes 180-190. I like them better than hybrids as hybrid hooks badly. I also carry a high launch 3 wood (17*)

    Great vid. Have always played a Heaven Wood for a 225 club. Unbeatable off the tee, into par 5's, long par 4s over 450yds, into long par 3s over 200 with forced carries, long bump and runs off tight lies and most importantly the 175-yard fairway bunker shot if you choke down a bit. It's a weapon.

    I’ve been playing the current iteration of Heavenwood since Callaway introduced it in their Warbird models. Currently using the Rogue st max. Never leave home without it. An absolutely incredible club for,long carries over hazards or into green that are well protected. Super out of rough and fairway bunkers and also for the chip shots around greens where one might use a hybrid.

    I think the issue is with you, that is not a dig or insult, I’m 70 with a much slower swing speed than you. I’ve tested both clubs with a senior flex shaft. The Heavenwood was consistently 12 to 15 yards longer than the 7 wood off the deck, off a tee the difference was even greater, closer to 17 yards. Also you have the ascent shaft in the Heavenwood and not in the 7 wood. I can’t wait to see your dads test which I believe is a far more relevant test.

    I know everyone steals ideas, but the Heavenwood, just like the Warbird sole on some of Callaway's other clubs, is clearly based on Stan Thompson's Ginty utility wood. The Ginty had a 7 wood loft, which was 29 degrees back in the day, and a shaft the length of a four wood.

    Hi James love reviewing the 7 & Heaven Woods I’m guessing you’ll get an extra 10yds with the Heaven Wood (think it’s idea is great) and should be perfect for your Dad👍) ideal for us seniors, extra length of shaft & 1deg stronger loft & slightly larger head sounds perfect, you can always choke down on the grip & open the face a touch to get 7Wood distance👍, My thoughts (now let’s watch your video) 🤞, you’ll think the same, Dickey 9hcp 76year senior golfer

    Glad I have an older 7 wood in my bag - one of my favourite clubs !! However, with the ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS price of even new fairway woods, I'll have to hope I am able to use mine for at least 3 more years, before looking at a 2023 Paradym or basically ANY 2023 clubs. Currently, in Canada they want $479 !!! for a Paradym fairway wood. I wont pay that for even a driver !! Have given up watching anymore reviews on 2023 clubs. The cost has become prohibitive!!!!! As I said, maybe in 3 - 5 years, I'll go back to your ( and all the other) 2023 reviews to get a sense of what to look for in used clubs. Sorry for the rant. It's not your fault that Club prices have SEVERELY limited the options for newer golfers, and many Senior golfers. Luckily I live near a store that sells a wide selection of used clubs.

    I think mostly, the Heavenwood is there for golfers that don't really have the swing speed of 85+ mph. Like for me for instance. I currently play off an appoximate 40 handicap and swing my driver less than 85mph so I have a slow swing speed and don't get too much out of my driver, maybe 210m if I strike it extremely well. For me, this Heavenwood went a perfect distance for me at about 180. My Heavenwood finishes at about my Driver carry and that's really all I would look for. Meanwhile, I've tried out a couple 7 woods. Not the Paradym yet, (probably will for my fitting in a couple months) but I've never gotten to 180. Not even close. But what I have gotten is a consistent 160. Even 165 if I'm lucky. Those are great numbers for me. But that's really from a slow swing perspective. If you have a fast or even above average swing, you probably won't notice very much difference but for a high handicapper, these could very well both go in the bag.

      Jacob, get an old Big Bertha 7 wood with the red lettering on the bottom and the JV60B shaft. It costs about $5 and does everything the new clubs do. In the cycling community riders say "Steel is real" because it feels so much better than titanium, carbon or aluminum. I have bikes made of all 3 materials and I gotta say that it is true. I play Miura MB 5002 irons and my Big Bertha 7 wood feels just as amazing with a CP2 Pro Midsize grip as those Miuras. That "TINK" sound coming off it like 2 Coke bottles clicked together gets everyone's attention.

    I wonder if you had Spriggsy or Foxy do the same comparison you did would they have had the same results as you. Given that these clubs are marketed towards higher handicap players with less consistent swings (generally, even though we know all players could see value) I'd imagine that the Heavenwood might offer more forgiveness with the larger head. Perhaps your swing speed (and above) is the great equalizer?

    Thank goodness, after 3 1/2 minutes in you finally mention the biggest difference - shaft length. 3/4” longer. It’s a rare case for Callaway, but it’s not marketing, as they have had versions of Heavenwoods for years. It really isn’t that confusing. Many Seniors and Ladies I have seen, use the Heavenwood as their lowest lifted fairway. It is not meant for a low handicap golfer such as yourself. I like your videos, but you totally miss the point of the Heavenwood. A slow swing speed will see a greater difference.

  • @montegustafson5142
    @montegustafson5142 Год назад

    I use a Ping G400 9 wood (23.5 degrees std) because of the rear weight (which can be adjusted via available weight sets) and an adjustable hosel (for the loft). I also have the 5 wood which has the same features. Makes them more versatile to fit than the Paradym offerings. I think for the $$ Callaway could have done the same.

    • @montegustafson5142
      @montegustafson5142 Год назад

      I should add that the subsequent Ping Models (410, 425, 430) also offer the same adjustability. The Callaway clubs may perform well but Ping offers more ability to get the club dialed in (and to change the settings for different course conditions).

    Callaway will always make the heaven wood. As it was the favorite of the creator of Calloway. It's a beautiful club. It's made how it was back in the day just with new technology of today's clubs. I like both but I'd run the heaven wood for nostalgic purposes. People who have used the heaven wood usually want a newer one that's "the same".

    Um, excuse me Mr. Robinson. I have a question if I may. You see, I have an original Callaway Big Bertha 7 wood with the JV60B shaft that I bought for about $5 from a used shop before Mark Zuckerberg even made Facebook, and I still hit it about 210 with a draw, straight or fade on command. So my question is this...
    Which do I have to sell, a kidney or a lung to afford the new Paradym 7 wood that does the exact same thing my lovely busted up Big Bertha does? I gotta be forthcoming, I just put a new Golf Pride CP2 Pro Midsize grip with 3 layers of tape on, which actually cost 4 times more than the club, so I gotta admit that I am a little frugal.
