Middle Grade books have the most beautiful covers ever 😍 I want them for my physical tbr just to show them off. I read Polar Bears Explorers Club on your rec and I absolutely loved it!
I've only read Nevermoor of this list! :O I also loved: Pages & Co: Tilly and the bookwanderers by Anna James - Northern Lights by Philip Pullman - Malamander by Thomas Taylor - The Girl who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill - Small spaces by Katherine Arden - Starfell: Willow Moss & the lost day by Dominique Valente - The Storm Keeper's Island by Catherine Doyle - The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher - A boy called Christmas by Matt Haig :)
Absolutely loved the polar bear explorers club too!! 😍 I would recommend the guardians of childhood by William Joyce. Its the series the film rise of the guardians andnis the origins of santa, the tooth fairy, the easter bunny...
Love all your picks! I love stories with those kinds of settings, reminds me of Northern Lights which was my childhood favorite. They all have beautiful covers too!
Two of my favorite middle grade books that I've read recently (honestly, two of my favorite books of any age category lately) were The Crowfield Curse and The Crowfield Demon by Pat Walsh. They aren't new books, and a third and final book seems to have never been completed, although the author still maintains it will be eventually. I'd adore if the third book gets written, however, both of these books have a satisfying ending and though there are threads of the story that could continue on, nothing that bothered me or felt unfinished.
Thank you for this, I have been meaning to get into middle grade!! The cover of North Child and The Eye of the North are amazing. I have heard so many good things about The House with Chicken Legs!!
I love this video!! Thank you for making it! I knew about some of these because I do watch your videos but the other day I was looking to try some middle grade books and for the life of me could not remember which ones you had really enjoyed. I’m glad to have this video to refer back to when I am in search of books! I haven’t read any of these or hardly any middle grade for that matter but one I have read is The Crowns of Croswald. I am not sure if you would like it but to me it was very whimsical and I loved it!
I love Middle Grade! I used to say my favorite genre was Young Adult, but I really just meant Middle Grade :) I'm dedicating my TBR in May to Middle Grade May.
Girl who dosent love the pages and co series. It’s like just- amazing. Also any bookworm would be super jealous of Tilly. Like she lives. In. A. Bookshop! A boookshopPpppp
I absolutely adore A Pinch of Magic and A Sprinkle of Sorcery, can’t wait for the third one. Also I highly recommend The Land of Roar by Jenny McLachlan and Malamander by Thomas Taylor
I sure you have probably already read this series but if not you are in for a treat. The Thickety is a horror fantasy children’s fiction book series, written by American author J. A. White. The first book, A Path Begins, was published on May 6, 2014. The second book, The Whispering Trees, was published March 10, 2015. The third book, Well of Witches, was published on February 23, 2016. Wikipedia Author: J. A. White
The Polar Bear Explorers' Club! yes yes yes! I know I need to get my hands on North Child! The Eye of the North was so good yes! The House with chicken legs! It was just an amazing book! The Girl who speaks bear is on my tbr! Gotta buy that one! City of Ghosts was good too (wasn't a fan of the sequel but hey) ooh I haven't added Potkin Stubbs to my tbr.. why?? I will be reading Nevermoor next month! Ok I haven't read anything by Helena Duggan... Will check it out! A Pinch of Magic will be read this year xD
I'm reading A Place Called Perfect for Believathon! I managed to get my hands on the whole trilogy and haven't gotten round to them yet so it's great to hear that you loved them!
Love MG books!😍 looking forward to read them I haven't got to yet. Now we just need at video of your most anticipated MG reads for the future you want to read.
@@Jadeyraereads sweet! Then I will look forward to that video. And it could be cool with a video where you tried to read the 5 or 10 best translated MG books from around world or Europe, so not from UK or US. Two of the most beloved MG book series from my country is translated into english, one of them recently. The Devil's Apprentice and The Die of Death by Kenneth Bogh Andersen.
I read The Storm Keeper’s Island this month and really loved it. I really need to pick up the sequel and continue on now. Another family oriented self-discovery journey you might enjoy.
The House with Chicken Legs I gave 3 stars to because I was sick of hearing about baba yaga after a while, but The Girl Who Speaks Bear I gave 5 stars to and I want the hardback of it. One of my all-time faves! Nevermoor I gave 1 star to but I know that's because of the audiobook (the narrator used a horrible voice for one of the characters and every time he would have to say something, I would cringe and couldn't handle it). Potkin and Stubbs I really wanna find so I hope I will be able to one day. I know it's not sold in Canada. Or, at least not where I shop for my books. I want the "Perfect" books. I'm gonna try to buy them in my next Amazon haul at the end of the year. A Pinch of Magic, I have the first 2 books and plan to follow along with the audiobooks. I'm almost positive I have one audiobook but not the rest, so this will come very soon. Since I have my set TBR until some time in June next year already, I may just get to these in July if I remember to do so by then. I actually wanna read everything else in this video. Hopefully next year it will happen. "I'm a fan of middle grade and I look forward to finding more fantastic ones" I feel the same! One day I'll try to post my favorites so far. I've only been reading middle grade since maybe early 2020. I started with classics but hated them and didn't really want to go back to adult books so I found other middle grades and fell in love with the stories. I'm glad I found the genre. It's the best!
I highly recommend Ember and the ice dragons. It's got some super good polar fantasy vibes. I just read it last month and absolutely adored it. It made me think of you multiple times while reading it.
I love middle grade books. I wish i had more of them on my shelfs. I really liked The House with Chickem Legs. Great book. I really want to read The Girl Who speks Bear too. Love Nevermoore. One of my fave saries ever.
Just started a series of unfortunate events as only got to book 3 when I was younger and really want to know how the story progresses and ends and really enjoying it so far although is a bit repetitive I really enjoyed the highland falcon thief, I think given your tastes and love of adventures you would enjoy it x
I’ve only read a few of these and really enjoyed them! I need to pick up the rest soon. Have you tried Suzanne Collins Underland Chronicles? They’re a bit older of middle grade release (early 2000’s). I really enjoyed them when I read them a few years ago and have been really wanting to do a reread. They are full of adventure, high stakes, real danger for our characters, heart wrenching and heart warming throughout. With humans and talking animals working together. I connected with these characters immediately and was wholly invested in them for the entire series. It left me with all of the feels and it still sticks with me to this day.
Great list of middle grades 😊 Sophie Anderson's book are just magical. Both of them had me crying at the end 😭😭 Did you know there's another Explorer's club book out next year about the Ocean Squid Explorer's club 😁
I want to read this entire list! I mean, I could probably go for all of them right now. Sadly my online library has exactly zero of them. Ok they have the schwab book but there’s a wait list, also I read the first book and half of her other series and dnf’d them....so I need some more convincing to try her again. I miss my physical library so so much. 🥺 not that their selection was that great but you could inter library loan just about anything.
A series I have being love is Alex rider it is the perfect mix of spy kids, James bond and special agent cold banks. So easy to read and full of action
A middle grade I really liked was The Emerald Atlas by John Stephens! It's a bit more on the mature side, some people class it as YA, but either way that's one of my favourites ^-^ I'm gonna have to get to the A Pinch of Magic soon it sounds absolutely amazing o.o
The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness series by Michelle Paver is my favourite middlegrade series! The first book is Wolf Brother and it’s a pre-historic setting with magic and different clans. I hope you pick it up and if you do please share your thoughts☺️✨
The perfect series on kindle is currently on offer so can get the complete set for £2.94. Just a share if people are struggling at the moment and seems like a brilliant offer. I really want to read Polar Bear Explore's Club, and I nearly ordered Pinch of Magic in a set with Thirteen Series yesterday but figured maybe have to wait a little bit first, considering have just order the whole of the Spellslinger Series and VE Schwab Darker Shade of Magic series.
It's so strange, because North Child is pubbed as a YA novel in the US and called East, and I've had it on my shelf for ages and only just now realized it was the same thing as North Child! Oops. Definitely going to bump it up the list now.
I'm a bit confused, maybe you can help me out! I keep hearing that the uk version North child by Edith Pattou is a middle grade but the us version East by edith pattou (which sounds to be the same book and the version I am currently reading) is young adult being she's 15 for most of the book. I was curious as to why and how they are different, thanks so much!
great vlog again and some great choices i would recommend the following books there may be a castle by piers torday , cogheart by peter bunzl, the wild robot by peter brown and lastly aggie morton mystery queen by marthe jocelyn this a new release it was released in february 2020 but the stories are inspired imagined life of agatha christie as a child
Have you read any of Brandon Mull’s series? I love his books for MG fantasy. Laura Ruby’s York series, Nevermoor, and The Girl Who Drank the Moon, are some of my favourites. I’m in the process of trying to read all of Rick Riordan’s books currently and I’ve really enjoyed the Aru Shah books too.
The Potkin and Stubbs you showed is the sequel not the first, the first is just called Potkin and Stubbs 💖 only mentioning this because I panicked and thought I brought the sequel not the first when you mentioned it 😂
Jadeyraereads I have ever book you mentioned except the first and I’ve virtually worked my way through all of them. I just have the Perfect trilogy to get through and I need to get my hands on the trilogy of the Polar Bear Explorers Club, it’s on my birthday to buy list 💙
Middle grades always have such nice covers 😍
I can't say this enough: there are too few booktubers who talk about middle grade!
it’s so rare i actually watch a recommendations video that features books i’ve never heard of! adding all of these to my tbr 😌🌻 thanks jade
I'm so glad! Thank you
All of the books that you recommend have dug beautiful covers and synopses! Wonderful list. Loveddd Nevermoor.
Yay, thank you!
Barely 3 minutes in to this video and I am so glad you mentioned The Polar Bear Explorer's Club as it is one of my favourites 🥰
Middle Grade books have the most beautiful covers ever 😍 I want them for my physical tbr just to show them off.
I read Polar Bears Explorers Club on your rec and I absolutely loved it!
Also, have you read Rumblestar? I really enjoyed it
I'm so glad to hear that! I haven't read Rumblestar, but it is one I would like to get to!
I love this! I hope that some people will start reading middle grade and talk about it more! We need more hype surrounding the middle grade genre!
