It helps to learn to use the Node Wranglers other shortcuts. If you want to Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide two nodes you select them both then hit Ctrl = (Add), Ctrl - (Subtract), Ctrl 8 (Multipy), Ctrl / (Divide) to add the relevant math node. Not 100 % perfect, but works most of the time.
