According to a legend the 2-finger salute is to pay respect and remembrance of the Battle of Olszynka Grochowska in 1831, when a soldier, who had lost in the battle all his fingers but the middle and index ones, saluted his superior with the wounded hand and died after it.
Sorry ale nie prawda, wywodzi się to jeszcze z rycerstwa Polskiego gdzie podnosząc przyłbicę rycerze pozdrawiali hasłem Bóg Honor Ojczyzna 3 palce. Z czasem Boga zabrakło i został Honor i Ojczyzna 2 palce.
Obaj piszecie sobie jakieś dziwne choć piękne historie. Według trzeciej taki salut został wprowadzony by odróżnić szpionów od powstańców.. To wszystko mity i bajki. A jak coś tam jest to nikt nie pyta dlaczego bo jeszcze kociej mordy dostanie 😁👆

Army - in our history we had some tragic events when countries besides war allience didn`t help. This force is to deter. USA by plan will be in Poland in 3 weeks, so we want to be sure that we alone can hold up with Russia for 3 weeks. in 2035 we`ll have land army as powerful as France, G.Britain, and Germany combined... That`s 4.5% gdp to military now. Before ww II we regained independence after 123 years in 1918, the army had a weak budget in 1939, despite this we might handle Germany, but Russia also attacked from the east.
Poles salute with two fingers, which is a unique gesture among Polish uniformed services, scouts and some professional groups, such as railway workers. The two-finger salute involves using the index and middle fingers, while the other fingers are bent and held with the thumb. There are several theories about the origin of this custom. One legend says that during the Napoleonic Wars or the November Uprising, a wounded soldier could salute with only two fingers, which became a symbol of his sacrifice. Last information, Poles do not salute an empty head, i.e. without a cap with an eagle. We salute our national emblem, the eagle. If you do not have a cap with an eagle, you do not salute, you take off your cap and lower your head.
Nice legend, but... legend. Thruth is not that nice like legend. Two finger salute by first used in Russian Imperial Army in end XVIII centaury and I half XIX centaury (and have many diferent variations - left hand, right hand, to front head, side head, vertical, horizontal and others way), when Poland by a part a Russia. But after this Russia start used full hand salute, but Polish soldier keep this and use too day in variant: right hand fingers to side head, hand front to forward, thumb down. But... legend version is most romantic. :)
@@madrianzorroonio85 So we can assume that the legend is true :-) Even if not, we have the dedication and courage sucked in with our mother's milk and in our genes. It is important that young people learn our values from an early age. :-)
