    Just came across your channel. Brilliant videos... kinda reminds me of early Barry Perrins (adventures of an old seadog). The on camera chat is great, very informative. I'm about 2 years away with a 31ft bilge from what you are doing so it's great to hear about your experiences, the highs and the lows... looking forward to many more videos.

    just started binge watching these, I can't put them away. can you describe a typical sleep pattern please

    • @wanderingsteve849
      @wanderingsteve849  6 лет назад

      Typically it is cat napping for 30 mins with several alarms set, then head out the hatch meercat style to check the horizon for lights, then another 30 mins.After 3 days this is not enough so you just continue through the day as well.Thank God for AIS which i have set at maximum range which is 24 Mins on mine!

    Hi Steve. I, and I'm sure others, would really like a few pics of the boat sometime when you're at anchor or on a pontoon, and maybe a tour - if it's tidy enough to show off!

      You are not the first person to mention that and i will be getting around to it after i complete repairs in Santo Porto

    Really enjoying your videos. Did you use your radar much to detect the ships?

    • @wanderingsteve849
      @wanderingsteve849  7 лет назад +1

      Hi No i only use the Radar when there is poor visibility due to the draw on the electrical system and i run the engine as well.

    Good one! Those big ships scare me. I always imagine the crew and captain all down below playing cards with the ship on autopilot. Does your AIS send as well as receive information?

    • @wanderingsteve849
      @wanderingsteve849  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Yes i kind of think they might be doing something like that or asleep.My AIS only receives but i want to upgrade to a transmitter as soon as i can!

    I think Steve sailed off the edge. Where do ships go when that happens?

    Them container ships are killing seamen every week. They don't care who they hit and everyone knows it - inc the authorities. Where you from Steve? Your accent is familiar.
