    Now my question is any good tests to do on the car other than just a test drive to make sure it’s not gonna fall apart tomorrow morning

      Just take a good look at things, listen for strange noises when the engine is running, check for worn brakes, suspension components etc.

      Get a PRE-PURCHASE inspection by an experienced certified auto mechanic. It will be well worth the money if only for your peace of mind if not the cost saving of repairs for conditions unknown to buyer and seller at the time of sale.

    I recently bought a car from Facebook marketplace on the 4th. Went to a couple car dealers I personally know thinking they could help me get the title in my name and no luck yet. It’s a salvage title and the fellow sold it to me already fixed. He never gave me receipts or pictures and he never got a rebuilt title he said I could. I plan to take a trip to dmv hoping all can work out. He signed his name and address on a piece of paper that has yet to be notarized. And he just gave me title and car he wrote nothing on back or front. My question is will I get this easily worked out or will this be a headache. Has same state title as where I live but I never got him to sign the title and we didn’t get anything notarized and he lives 3 hours from me. Will I be good by just going to dmv to apply for title in my name and rebuilt title so I can drive car. It’s a 2013 mustang v6 runs and drives. Was totaled only because of a baby hit to the back air bags never went off. Has salvage title but runs and drives and is 100 percent fixed can’t even tell it had been hit.

    • @AlexPerrucci
      @AlexPerrucci  Год назад +15

      That's going to be different depending on where you live. Registration doesn't matter to me unless there's something wrong with the car that's going to prevent it from being able to be registered. Most NA Miata's are old enough now to not require emissions if you have that. One of the most important things is to make sure it has a clean title and registration shouldn't be an issue.

If you want to get a car for fixing and working on it for 5 years and spend 10-20k on go for it. do not get either of those as a first car, go for reliability.
