did you check your oil pump to make sure its not locked up ,,,,thats why the pin snaps the oil pump is hard to turn ,,

Oil pump turns free. I did check that.

I have a hev duty '92 250 with a 5.8 no problem yet but my '96 150 with 4.9 shears the roll pin once a year, i was recently told oil pumps can intermittenly bind up and do that too
