    What an inspirational person. From every aspect. Love that she does it now with and because of her family. Maybe we should look closer to home for inspiration rather than looking at guys and girls in the fantasy leagues. Great interview Rick.

    The next major thing I want to check off my bucket list is a visit to Annika's Academy in Orlando. I'd had it all planned out once but a close relative got sick and I had to give up the idea for years. But hopefully, once Covid finishes ravaging our poorly governed state if any of us are left alive I'll get to try again next year or the year after. My dad's parents came from Sweden and our entire family has rooted for her forever.

    Just watched this Annika interview and we’ll done Rick! The message from this interview must inspire young boys and girls from a women who is and was the Tiger Woods of the women’s game. I have fond memories of watching Annika on TV in the 90’s her and her battles with Karrie Webb.
    Everything Annika is doing in her life now is to help and inspire children and is for the best.
    So Rick what big name can you get on the podcast next?? Tiger? Rory? Bryson? Sei Young Kim? Nelly Korda? Jin Young Ko? Surely Rick you can get phone numbers to golfers agents and ask surely any pro golfer can give you 30 minutes of their time to chat to you for us, the golfer could be eating their lunch and you interview them at the same time we your viewers wouldn’t mind!

    She has roughly 100 tournament wins, if each one of those payed and average of lets say 600,000... that's 60 million in prize money. Now imagine she was making tiger money for each tournament win. No personal sponsorships included. Just finished listening, this was fantastic. Just need to get the golden bear and tiger on now 😛

    • @jdstarek
      @jdstarek 3 года назад

      Nothing but respect and admiration for her, but the reason she isnt making Tiger money is because she gets 1/100th audience. This is the same story as the US women’s soccer team. Pay/salary is a function of revenue generated, not a function of skill. It’s also the reason successful sales people are often paid more than the engineers that create the products.

    • @aidangriffiths5075
      @aidangriffiths5075 3 года назад

      @@jdstarek oh fuck off man I was just making a point that if she got tiger money per win she'd be outrageously rich. Noone said anything about audience or why she doesn't get paid as much. But there always has to be one bloke who brings it up. Cheers for the insight captain obvious

  • @MM-rr1kp
    @MM-rr1kp 3 года назад

    decent interview, enjoyed the discussion when on topic (golf)
    just lets not get too heavy on gender equality and pay etc. it doesnt mix with sport and tv money. the best and most popular command the highest pay. if one tries to force pay equality in sport it will be at the expense of someone else.
    women are getting more of a following and they should, they are playing at a very high level but they should get paid the same when they earn the same for their tours and sponsors.
    Promoting golf and elevating girls and women is great, just be careful of blanket statements about equality in these situations.
    How about pay equality for all podcast hosts? regardless of number of subscribers, views and ad money, certain podcasters pay is adjusted because of the group they belong to?
