Tommy and Min Woo are my two favourite players on tour.. both give you 100% of their attention and act like one of your mates. Genuinely top class guys
Only 6 minutes in and already fully dialled in - Tommy is unbelievably personable and humble given his standing in the game. Can't wait to watch the rest of this. Great content thanks Rick
Tommy Fleetwood (1:07:35) "just watching the game of golf and how much it can hurt" Exactly what i was thinking. Best episode so far and I haven't even seen the end yet. Great video, content, editing, filming, everything!
Tommy consoling Rick after that 250 par 3 was so sweet. We really need more people like Tommy in this world. Quickly has become one of my favorite golfers.
It was, and good on Tommy, but he knows Rick will just groan and moan all the way round unless he gave him a bit of consolation. I am much preferring Rick’s review content at the moment to the on course, and it’s just an hour of watching the dude go through mental anguish.
This video shows exactly why RUclips golf can offer so much more than conventional tournament coverage. Just brilliant. Tommy Fleetwood is a class act. Loved watching this. Thank you!!
Rick's worst, and best, shots come from within his head - he talks himself into both. Over the past 10 years or so, I can't recall ever having seen Rick hit a good shot after expressing negativity about the challenge or the odds of succeeding, or after putting pressure on himself because "I really need this one." But I have seen him hit some truly fantastic shots when he has told himself he CAN do it. Today was no different. Great course vlog with Tommy, again. Such a lovely fellow. He would be a great friend to have.
He always says the worst things almost as hes taking his back swing - like, 'come on rick, good swing' or 'need a perfect shot'. It just sets him up for disapointment and nothing to analyse after. He needs to work on a mechanical swing thought or two so he isnt only devestated after making a mistake but also has something positive to work on. Its quite frustrating to watch.
You know what mate, kudos for not editing any of those poor shots out. Respect and appreciate that you always give an unfiltered, raw view of how tough this game can be for all of us. On another day it could be completely different. Respect 🙌🏾
@@ryankelly5117 How could a man in complete control of everything you see, perhaps do repeat takes and edit things in anyway he likes??? (For what it’s worth, it’s seems clear he hasn’t at all but he obviously could)
Great lesson here - don't recount or dwell on the bad shots in your external/internal dialogue. Also, don't make excuses (grass grain etc.), as doing so just tells you that your game is out of your control. Own the bad shots, smile, appreciate being there and birdie the next hole - or at least say that's what you'll do. Tommy is so calm and level headed and Rick seems to sabotage his game a bit. Once you develop a state of embarassment or despondency, your short game will become hesitant and you'll yip and/or leave your shots short (or blade them to hell). Fabulous case study here and thanks! Dave Edit: constantly being negative and putting yourself down when you're off your game also makes the round unpleasant for your playing parners, especially if they're having a blinder.

I picked up my old clubs last month after many years sitting in the shed then found your videos and have become obsessed with your content and the game. Tommy Fleetwood is just a legend. I especially think the character of these tour pros comes out when watching another player struggle a bit. He's just a class act. Rick, keep your head up pal, it's just the game of golf. Brighter days ahead! Great video, as always!
Every golfer has gone through these chipping woes! Keep you head up and keep seeking your short game. For me it was getting rid of the "stiffness" around the greens and letting the club do the work! Cheers! (Love Tommy!!)
The chipping is the most startling, but the true difference between a tour pro and a non-tour pro is the distance from the pin on putts. Even before the yips, Rick was consistently 10-30 feet further from Tommy on the greens and, over time, that just gives someone like Tommy many more birdie opportunities and no worse than par. Only just watched this. Hadn’t realised how long it was - 18 holes, every shot (and nearly every thought) shown. A-MAZ-ING! Had to keep slomo-ing Tommy’s awe inspiring swing & replaying it! Rick, for pity’s sake stop being so hard on yourself. You must have half your mind on the content (which is why it’s always so good) so you’re bound to make a few mistakes in your golf. As Tommy kept saying, you drove it brilliantly and, as usual, your iron approach play was really solid. Mind you, the wobble in your short game gave us a chance to see what a quality, kind guy Tommy is. Two big-hearted guys supporting each other’s golf and having a laugh too. Fantastic viewing. Thank you. 😘

Great content again. I'd love to see Rick play a really good round in this series though. At one point I actually felt embarrassed for Rick. He tries too hard sometimes. Great to see how supportive Tommy was all the way round. Never criticising even Rick's worst chip shot. Awesome 🌟 pro. 👏👏
Most of what I know about Tommy Fleetwood is through the videos that you've done with him. He is just a genuinely really nice guy who has fantastic golf skills & humility in equal measure. He has become my favorite player on your "Start 10 Under Par" series closely followed by Lee Westwood who I really like as well. Keep up the great videos Rick.
Lovely round to watch and thank you. Great you showed every shot and didn't do a "showreel" job. Those little chunkers (3rd shot on 4) are just waiting to pounce, even for very low markers like you, which leaves the rest of us knowing that we're all human! Tommy is, as everyone seems to say, a complete gentleman and his relaxed demeanor is something many of us could do with a bit of. Cheers and thanks from Sydney - Dave
Great and entertaining content, even if this match wasn't close for once. Thank you Rick for showing even bad golf shots in such an authentic way, so it remains relatable for most viewers :)
Swing is Steep and hasty Pick one shot shape (draw) Visualise a shot and stop looking at club face in practice swing Biggest thing Dan grieves was saying ? Let gravity to the work then turn - soooo hasty in transition
Rick and Tommy, It is really a pleasure to watch you two playing side by side...like two friends meeting on a golf course... very very refreshing to follow! Tommy best of luck at the Canadian Open next year As a Canadian, I will be cheering for you... there will be no chance to see a subway putt again on the 18th. Rick, the flight of you ball with your irons are Pro-flight....like you did on 1,2.... 18th, let the club go with the flow... (also near and around the greens) Love to see you 2 playing again Cheers Guy
@@kevinwilliamson4748 no I haven’t but I haven’t been a PGA pro for nearly 20 years. We all understands there’s different types of grass, but he does this on every course. No different to any other sport. I’ve been racing motocross for 25 years, if I go somewhere that has a different type of dirt, i don’t just stop knowing how to ride because it’s different dirt
Rick, it seems you like have the exact same issue that ruined the game of golf for me for years - overactive hands (mostly the right hand, snapping through impact). It even resulted in the yips for my putting and short game. I'd roll my right hand open on the takeaway, and my timing would need to perfect to square the club, and avoid a hook or a slice. However, practicing with the left hand guiding the club, and having my right hand just there for the journey has completely transformed my swing, putting, and chipping. It's a constant work in progress, but once my right hand gets too busy - I'm in trouble. Best of luck, and thanks for the amazing content as always!
27:43 all kidding aside, look at the difference between Tommy and Rick - Tommy didn’t have the best start, but he’s so even emotionally, he truly plays each shot like the last didn’t exist and just goes about his process. Contrast that with Rick, sure triples suck, we all know it feels terrible but he brought himself emotionally down into the abyss and then shoots a birdie and flys right past even keel to extreme happiness. I’m not saying he’s wrong, I’m saying most if not all of us are the same way or similar. And what’s cool about these videos is that we actually get to see the contrast instead of just imagining what would happen. That’s what makes the RUclips content so interesting. Great work everyone
You're right. Poor Rick... ball didn't go where I wanted it to go! Kudos to Tommy - I think I'd be telling Rick to play his own game and stop whining! Tommy had to write a book for Rick at every hole on how to play EVERY shot! Rick, you've had a good run, now you just come across as a cry-baby. I ended up just watching Tommy as Rick got on my nerves. He is not the player he thinks he is and all that doesn't work is down to you - not the wind, not the lie, not the grass, not the line - YOU are the problem, Rick - YOU!
There is honestly no excuse for Rick's short game to be that bad. With the resources he has and connections to coaches, and the fact he does it for a living, it just blows my mind.
I agree with that, i absolutely suck at golf and regularly shoot over a hundred but that is actually the best part of my game from 30-50 yards, istg i do better shots than him there sometimes, but otherwise he is far and away miles and miles better than me
Hey, ease up on Rick, he had a bad day. No editing out the bad shots and the camera is always running and he hasn't ever won a pro competition. Love how he always stays positive though. Let's get some more competitions on some of the Scottish Seaside Links...
Your driving, approach shots and putting are so good, its just the short game that is lacking, once you fix that you might want to change it to a 5 shot lead rather than 10
They gonna say it's hate... But he needs a reality check so he can get hungry again. He getting fat and just Connor McGregor'd it with the RUclips money. Getting fat and drinking beer.
A fantastic video all around. Tommy and Rick remind me of the best people I've been fortunate enough to be paired with over the years in terms of demeanor and candor on the course. Love folks that are encouraging and positive; out to have a fun day without a ton of ego or other BS. It's part of what made me fall in love with the game was the good people you can meet who share an appreciation for this beautiful and cruel sport we all love.
Difference between RUclipsr and Tour Pro. RUclipsr: gonna hit it short, rather be 100 yards short and safe. Tour Pro: Got a 3 wood, you can make that green. 🤘 😎 Rick, Love the channel.
Rick, I love the way you explain your next shot. If it works, great. If it doesn't you explain why. Your attitude to golf and the way you keep up your spirits with a laugh and a giggle are exactly what amateur golfers should follow. You are a very good player and Tommy? Pure class. Great video mate. Keep them coming.
That’s the longest RUclips video I’ve ever watched but well worth it. I could relate to so many of the mistakes. Fun to see how a pro reacts to it and how you pulled yourself back together to finish the round! Great content.

Felt for you on that 15th hole. I'm exactly the same with anything less than 90 yards. I keep watching that chipping and pitching lesson you had at Woburn to help as well as many lessons on them. Fair play that you kept going to the end. Well done on the birdie and parring that final hole.

Thank you. 😘
Love these matches💪hope tommy wins a major this year 🙏 in my opinion tommy and bryson are the most down to earth, genuine guys youve had on the channel rick. Great watch
Tommy seems like a genuinely fun person to be around.
I wasn't here for DeChambeau, I don't like him. Exact opposite for Tommy though.
@@terranceparsons5185Brysons a good dude too Imo. Just not for everyone. He’s just way more type A personality. But he’s a great ambassador of golf too. He does a lot to grow the game.
How can anyone not love these two guys. No edge to either of them. Brilliant video guys.
Rick could’ve made it more competitive tho
I mean ricks a miserable bastard for 90% of this video...
Love these, doesnt feel forced by Taylormade (like some other collabs) feels like an actual match as it is. Well done.
Swing is Steep and hasty
Pick one shot shape (draw)
Visualise a shot and stop looking at club face in practice swing
Biggest thing Dan grieves was saying ? Let gravity to the work then turn - soooo hasty in transition
Rick and Tommy, It is really a pleasure to watch you two playing side by side...like two friends meeting on a golf course... very very refreshing to follow!
Tommy best of luck at the Canadian Open next year As a Canadian, I will be cheering for you... there will be no chance to see a subway putt again on the 18th.
Rick, the flight of you ball with your irons are Pro-flight....like you did on 1,2.... 18th, let the club go with the flow... (also near and around the greens)
Love to see you 2 playing again
Cheers
Guy
Imagine getting the chance to play an amazing golf course with a world class athlete in his prime.
Tommy Fleetwood must feel very lucky.
😂😂😂
Over used comment.
Keep these 10-shot videos going! ⛳️🔥
Thank you!
Yeah because it’s funny how bad you are Rick hahaah😂
@@richardpadley5045it’s embarrassing. A beginner chips better than him. He should not be allowed to call himself a pro
@@Woodsy.CRF450 take it you've never played on that sort of grass massive change to uk style looks easy but defo not try before you shout
Only Rick could have 78 yards in and walk off with a triple. Magician 🎉😂
27:43 all kidding aside, look at the difference between Tommy and Rick -
Tommy didn’t have the best start, but he’s so even emotionally, he truly plays each shot like the last didn’t exist and just goes about his process.
If I get a penny for every time Rick sighs and complains after a shot, I’d be rich 😂
Yes you're so right, so many average shots and excuses
Rick straight hacking it in this episode
He’s a scratch golfer though 😂
@tomsanderson6492 No he's not. Not even close
Your driving, approach shots and putting are so good, its just the short game that is lacking, once you fix that you might want to change it to a 5 shot lead rather than 10
I laughed so hard on the blade out of the bunker hahaha
Just the 15 over par Rick......
You shouldn't call yourself a Professional Golfer.
They gonna say it's hate... But he needs a reality check so he can get hungry again. He getting fat and just Connor McGregor'd it with the RUclips money. Getting fat and drinking beer.
Well said....
Hi Rick, could you possibly squeeze a few more adverts into your videos there just doesn’t seem to be enough these days
Tommy Fleetwood - My favorite golfer by far. Though if You could get Tommy and James on in the same video that would be the icing on the cake.
We need more Videos with Tommy and You!
So cool to watch!
Enjoyed every second!
is Tommy the nicest guy in golf?
In the world ?
Love the post hole animations, Rick! Adds even more humor to the videos. Keep doing them please.
Tommy is a gentleman and a true Brit. Love him. (manly love that is!) Bloody Shiels music playing when he’s going to win the hole and is all me,me,me
Been watching Rick's content for years now and through it all I just realize that Rick is all of us. Definitely gives me more confidence in this game.
These are my favorite types of videos you put out. I love the pros that come in and it makes for very entertaining videos. Keep up the work, best golf channel on youtube
Every video with Rick and Tommy is epic. Would love to see a scramble match. Rick and Jon Robinson VS Guy and Tommy. That would be insane. Good luck this season Tommy, really wanna see a major or 2 this year 👍 😊
Tommy is just such a nice guy! He is so genuinely supportive. And what an incredible player, just awesome watching him in a format like this! Yes, please, on another match like this!
Absolutely love this content and how great is Tommy, both as a person and a golfer.
I would love to have a round with Tommy and my fellow aussie MIn Woo.
This is easily the best content you make Rick. The ups and downs of golf, as well as the casual side of the pro golfer. GG
My 2 favourite golfers in a video ! Love it, great content Rick. In a world full of noisy, loudmouth emptyheaded youtubers you're a fresh wind. Keep it up !
Cheers from Belgium !
Excellent stuff. Part 3 soon hopefully.
Huge kudos to Tommy for giving his time for these videos. Encouragement all the way round too. Top bloke!
What an amazing video! Rick, I know that was a tough round but one of the most relatable golf videos I have ever watched. We all have those days. Amazing content. Thank you.
Ask people about their dream four-ball, and most people start, "Tiger ...".
As far as I'm concerned, Tommy tops my list. I bet he'd make it a fun round for me while amazing me with his skill. A great watch - thanks 👍
Rick
You tanked your chipping before you even teed off on the first hole.
Despite saying later on that you had been chipping well.
You layed back on the first hole to avoid a 50 yd wedge.
What a class guy Tommy is! Not enjoying Rick struggle in short game but but saying "the game came hurt" is such a class phrase . Carrying on the encouraging .Would absolutely love a round / beer with the dude.
Your attitude was so uplifting in this video, keep this mentality up!
Every time I see Tommy in a video or on tv I like him more. Such a class act, great disposition, so humble, and a great sense of humor. It was fun watching him move up the leader board on Sunday at The Masters.
RICK - Part 3, please!! Whoever the powers that be are, convince them to make it so!
thank you both, great viewing. Love the golf Tommy plays, so relatable and done with such humility.
Tommy and Rick together is a personal favorite, love the energy between the two of them. Tommy is such a nice guy, and has a heck of a swing!
Hey Tommy, I don’t know if you enjoy doing these things on RUclips or not, but I think I can speak for many of us and say we all really enjoy watching you do these types of things and appreciate you taking the time. Probably have enough time away from the family for PGA stuff and having 2 kids myself, I get it. Appreciate it, pleasure to watch! Best of luck on tour in 2024!
Tommy is so genuine and so nice. Im put at ease just watching him, no wonder you were so comfortable at the start. I, also, love how touchy Tommy is. He wants to comfort and make you feel better. I true legend. Rick, your drives were immaculate.
I saw this video had dropped and cancelled my plans this evening ! Loved the first one , this was fantastic . Please do another !!
Yesterday I watched Peter Finch buy a Box Set of cheapy clubs and then shoot 3 under for 9 (in November cold and wet). Come on Rick
Yeah...but Pete is scratch.
Great video Rick! Love these. Golf can be a brutal game, but it always keeps us coming back for more!
Rick, pretty hard to be consistent with those wrists breaking so early. Little food for thought for James! 💪
Production of the video was great. All around a very polished product. Keep it going.
Felt for you on that 15th hole. I'm exactly the same with anything less than 90 yards. I keep watching that chipping and pitching lesson you had at Woburn to help as well as many lessons on them.
Fair play that you kept going to the end. Well done on the birdie and parring that final hole.
