i admire her soo much for her courage to tell all the world about her suffering! people really need to become more aware of postpartum depression. wish there would be more women as brave as her .
I had my daughter 5 months ago and I was diagnosed with PPD last week after suffering with it for almost two weeks. Reading this book now, I'm crying because it's such a relief to know that I'm not alone, that someone else has felt the way that I do. I've felt so alone and isolated, and it scared me to feel that way. bless you, Brooke, for making me feel like I'm not some freak of nature or something.
Gosh, I'm really, really sorry to hear that. I don't know what to say except: hang in there, you'll come out of this. Talk to your friends, your family, your doctor. Take good care of yourselg and your baby. Lots of love :-)
@xJollyjo THANK YOU so much for watching & commenting. I couldn't agree more: I think Brooke is really brave, and I am sure her book has helped a lot of women.
Her voice changed sometime in her career. Always sounded little girlish and high pitched. Here it is beginning to change. Motherhood? Wonder what year this was.
I read her book and as close as I felt to her while I was reading it it didnt help me no one can help me im 8 months post partum..i take a few different meds and talk to other women with ppd and it dont help
I wouldnt say that people who immediately bond and feel "sunshine" are full of it. That's JUST as closed-minded as saying PPD isn't real, because you are totally discrediting those who DID have a good experience. What an ass.
