His drumming on "Dreaming" is legendary.
Totally agree...👍👍
This was what my comment was going to be!
The entire song is great drum solo!
Brilliant drumming 🥁
So goddamn great
You've just GOTTA love Clem. His drumming absolutely MADE every Blondie track into something special. What a hero! 😃👍👏❤
Clem's an excellent drummer, who hasn't received the accolades that he really deserves. People from his generation, like Marky Ramone, recognize his abilities. His unique style brought a special vibe to Blondie's material. I love his mention of Johnny Thunders, a unique singer-songwriter, with a New Yawk accent and attitude, he personally knew. Surprised he likes Television so much. I used to listen to Marquee Moon. I should revisit..
LOL no one is ever going to "give the drummer some" but you're not wrong at all!
Surprised he likes Television? Tom Verlaine is an incredible guitar player and, in case you haven't heard, Richard Lloyd learned how to play guitar from Jimi Hendrix..........yeah, they're that good!
Television and Blondie played side-by-side all the time at the CBGB club in New York , when coming up
Fred Smith, Television's bassist, was the original bassist in Blondie
Television were amazing
I always thought the members of Blondie were so cool.
Clem IS the reason I became a drummer!! I worshipped him after watching the Eat To The Beat video's
Clem Burke is in my top ten drummers. He's drumming style really help carry Blondie to success
Clicked that like button before I even started watching.
Same here.
One of the most underrated drummers of all time! Great picks here.
I literally know no one in music who underrates Clem Burke
A true musical legend...Clem is one of the best ever behind the traps!
One of the very few drummers who would make Keith Moon sweat! When spinning Blondie make damn sure to listen to the drum genius behind the kit!
The man hits stuff so hard .yet so precise.
I could listen to Clem talking about records all day.
Great. Still rocking that haircut.
Clem is great, met him before Blondie concert at Edinburgh Playhouse 2004, but my fav blondie concert was my first one at legendary Glasgow Apollo New years eve 1979, wow, that was awesome night live on whistle test,
A true rock and roller. Blondie's music is timeless.
Is it? Nah, it isn't!
@@kodiakandgrizzlybears3787 Yeah, it is.
Checking out Nancy & Lee and the Johnny Thunders album!
Awesome. 👍
...one of the best, and often overlooked drummers.
the best drummer in his or anyone's range. the reason i started playing music... saw Blondie live...he made it look so easy.
Just listened to "In the Garden" by Eurythmics, long beloved since early 80's. Hard to imagine anyone else drumming on it. Exquisite.
Great hair.Even greater drummer!!!👍
Not only a great drummer but also a fashion style icon and rock archivist.
Great seeing you in 2021, Clem - you’re a musical powerhouse.
watching him play live changed my whole approach to drumming. thanks clem!
up there with one of the coolest drummers ever -his style and look is brilliant
very wholesome chap & one of the best selections in this series to date 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
WoW was he a great drummer. such power and propulsion. the rocket fuel of Blondie. Listen to "Dreaming" and you will be on the moon in 3 minutes. so awesome
Clem Burke is the most interesting cat!
Great drummer . I call him the piston. He never misses.
That is one of the best 'What's in my bag' I have seen, great choices and interesting to listen to, most excellent from a legend!!
My number one favourite drummer.
One of my favorite drummers and a cool guy. Watching him play it always looks like he is at a gig all his own. Interesting music selection. "Can't put your arms around a memory" is a really touching song.
Greatest drummer ever
Clem the BEAST. One of my favorite drummers.
Glad to see old Clem alive and kicking with great musical taste and enthusiasm
Wow! Awesome. Fun video. Great to see Clem Burke and some cool records. This made my day.
Cheers Clem!
Brad.
OMG yesss! Wonderful list & Clem looks great :) I love this series so much 💖 thanks Amoebas
Good to hear from you, Clem!
Television and Suicide were two of my favorites to come out of the CBGB scene in the mid 70's. I would also include Mink de Ville who blew me away the first time i walked through the door of CBs in the summer of 1976. They were the second band on the bill. The opening act you may ask?..........The Ramones!.......
Clem is a great communicator, in addition to being such a noted musician ... he makes you feel like he's talking just to you.
Johnny! Still one of my favorite shirts! Probably one of my first Punk shirts. That back cover photo. First of many many punk shirts and Johnny and Dolls shirts. RIP Sylvain.
One of my all time favorite books, “Please Kill Me.” But i love Clem just oozes that New York Maxs/Cbs vibe. That is the best of all the scenes in my humble opinion. 🤘🏾🤎🖤✊🏿
Clem - do anything you want every day and I'll watch brother.🙏😎❤
Ah, Clem, I’ve had the opportunity to see you live once with Blondie! I wasn’t disappointed! The mix was first class! The band was burning hot! Your drumming was excellent! You have always reminded me of Kieth Moon 🌙! I first heard Blondie back in 1976 ! I was 11 yrs old! Still loving you guy’s and gal! Ps. Deb’s vocals also blew me away that night! She just gets better! Pss, I always thought, in your younger days you looked like Paul McCartney! Keep rocking bud! And thank you so far for the music. 👍🙏😊
Clem is one of the best and underrated drummers.
Wicked, love it when a musician is enthusiastic about music as his fans
Cool Guy! Speaks with a soft authority I Like
Awesome drummer😀
Clem got the perfect click and his feels on Heart of Glass are so groovy..damn!!
Legendary! Two “Blow Ups”! Excellent recommendations! “Blow Up” is one of my favourite movies and I’ve got a CD, “Marquee moon” from Television and the second “The Blow Up” is on the cards
Clem's drumming on Dramarama's "Hi-Fi/Sci-Fi was fantastic.
Clem has perfect taste!
It’s great to him him talk for once. I never see him get interviewed for some reason. His drumming is incredible as Blondies drummer and he played with the Eurythmics live, too! I only know him from his energetic and upbeat drumming.
I like his choices also! He doesn’t have mainstream tastes but is eclectic and now I have to look for his recommendations. I figured he’d have unique taste in music.
Thanks!
Because everyone always focused on Debbie but as a woman I liked looking at all the guys in the band
You are the GOAT of drumming.
The new Empty Hearts record sounds very good. Thanks!
Although Debbie Harry was & is very easy on the eye, to see Clem suited & booted in the best gear playing those drums was very inspiring...👍👍 as a Keith Moon lover i always found Clem to generate the same kind of energy which i love..👍👍 Clem you rock my friend...👍👍
Thanks for sharing 🙏
Serendipitous. I was listening to 'Ladybird' only 40 minutes ago on my way to a store.
Just recently watched the doc Oil City about Dr Feelgood. One of the best docs everrrrr! An amazing band that just fell apart to soon. Wilko! That Suicide album sounds choice.
Only famous albums, a perfect selection !
Absolutely love that Nancy and Lee album . My copy is a little rough but I'm always looking for a cleaner one
That Nancy and Lee record is incredible. So awesome to see Clem is a fan!
it has been one of my fav LPS since it was new, and I was 8.... I paid $30 for a NMint copy in 1979 at Dayton Records on B'way/12th St. when I needed to replace my much worn orig. purchase....I like duet LPS.....my other 2 favorites are Connie Francis and Hank Williams Jr. Sing Great Country Favorites MGM 1964 and Roy Drusky and Priscilla Mitchell- Love's Eternal Triangle 1966 Mercury Records...
Great selection from Clem, one of my all-time favorite drummers. Nice nod to the the Television "Blow-Up" album. I had found it as a cassette way back when. I had previously bought Marquee Moon and did not "get it" as I thought it didn't rock enough or wasn't punk enough. After I heard that live recording I got it, right from the first song. I am not sure why their records were so tame - I wish more of that live energy had been on those albums.
Thanks for turning me on to some things I've never heard of mr. B. Whenever anyone asks me what my favorite song is and I tell them Some Velvet Morning by Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra, they eitherr say they haven't heard of it or they say oh come on really what's your favorite song. Well, it is! Some of my other all-time favorite listens that I've never stopped listening to: Picture This, Suzanne by Nina Simone, White Rabbit, Old Man by Neil Young, Shayla, How Soon Is Now, Los Angeles by X, Morning Dew by Lulu, Crazy by Patsy Cline, Ghost Riders in the Sky by Vaughn Monroe.
Just found a copy of Nancy and lee and holy clem u were right amazing album!
Great selection.
The "Priviledge" movie and soundtrack....mind blowing... big audio dynamite sampled the alot of the dialogue out of the movie for their single "just play music".!!...great taste Clem...!!
Television live! I must have. Guitars, guitars, guitars...
I never heard of Dr. Feelgood until maybe 10-15 years ago. Bought the Dr. Feelgood box set, it's a must-buy for anybody into rock and roll and blues/pub rock music, period.
Clem Burke...beast on the kit
Hey Clem, I met you once at Bert Podells office while it was under construction. Still a fan ✌
Viva the one and only Dr. Burke!
What a great list Clem!
Me girlfriend loved blondie I was a skinhead but loved clems drumming. Still do 43yrs later
been jamming out to all the wilko johnson era Dr Feelgood albums. The Gypie Mayo stuff is awesome too..just a great band.
Great to hear him talking- interesting!
Excelente video amigo ✌🏽
Great selection clem ! Some I know some I don’t
Now that was a band, Clem looks great....hope his cold clears up
Clem, you are legendary. Sounds like Neil Diamond, a bit.
Enjoy watching young YT's drooling over Blondie. You and Deborah.
Very arcane genre.
Hurrah for Television!
Some excellent choices there Clem.
Hurt me is probably one of my favorite records front start till end two great sides of fantastic lyrics. Johnny got pissed with New Rose
Clems Drumming is the Dog's Bollocks , top ten drummers off all time without argument ;)
I love Clem! That Empty Hearts record is amazing. Also, if you're a Johnny Thunders fan (he's the reason I first picked up a guitar 40 years ago), the band The Reigning Sound do a really good cover of "Much Rather Be With The Boys" on their record "Time Bomb High School".
Thanks for the recommendation, Brian. I’ll have to check it out.
Reining sound and compulsive gamblers ,oblivion are amazing
Listen to his fills on Fan Mail. So underrated..
Also, he didn’t get a fair shake in The Ramones. Maybe they were used to playing the songs faster live, but his playing was on point. Totally unfair criticism. The first show he played with them is available online.
Possibly my favorite Blondie song.
Freakin' love that guy!
Good lad choosing Dr Feelgood Malpractice. Love Clem
Killer selection
First pick Nancy & Lee, this should be good
Great choice!
very cool/ "Blow Up" 44c. !
let us know when EMPTY HEARTS goes on tour.....I'm in !
this was dope!
Flawless tastes
Clem is the greatest
Ah bless. Not a bad one. The Blow Up on vinyl, am very green.
Dr Feelgood for the win. Love Suicide as well. Great selection
Met him briefly at winter NAMM 2013, he was decent but kind of looking over my shoulder for someone cooler to talk to. Or so it seemed. Granted, I did stop him on his way to somewhere, so...maybe he was meeting someone. Irregardless, awesome drummer and Parallel Lines is a monster album.
well done
It's pretty fun to find out one of your favourite drummers has a bunch of the same records as you! Looks like he finds some of them in the used bin too, LOL!
GREAT DRUMMER GREAT TASTE IN MUSIC 🎵🎶👍
