THIS is my dream car. I’ve had a 69 300, a 70 300 and a 79 300, but this is THE one. I love the paint and interior change - like it was made for me. The BEST car, the best year! The tail fins and lights, the astrodome, the chrome - all on the car that defines “bankers hot rod”. Long live the F! So great, Lou (you ran a great interview, even back then!)
Hi Cherry Picker Guitars, Happy to read this is "THE one" :-) Good news! Here is the updated video of this car. Enjoy, Lou ruclips.net/video/NKqcmW9hy3E/видео.html
Yes, a man who actually drives it! My hat goes off to you sir. If well maintained that engine and transmission will go well over 200K miles. This engine was the Daddy of the Max Wedge and was just a beast. This Coupe is absolutely beautiful especially given that it is actually driven. Not that the white on white isn't attractive but for me, the Red with a tan interior would be my choice. Hey to each his own. Again, for a car that is driven thousands of miles, the engine bay is immaculate. I wonder if the 31,000+ miles on the odometer is the first 31K LOL Great video, Lou, thanks for sharing.
What a delightful, special car. Thanks for sharing. My father had a 1960 Windsor 2 door hardtop. I remember peering over the front seat, taking in the glow of the instrument panel at night. I didn't think there could be a cooler car, ever.
I saw the paper that said the base price of this car was $5411....Wow! I knew they were high but I didn't know the base price was that high. I would have guessed around $4900. This thing had a higher base price than a series 62 Cadillac or maybe even a Coupe Deville! Thanks for sharing this amazing video Lou!

Beautiful, inside and out. The dash is a sight to behold. Those long intake runners will improve low down torque, not that an engine of this size is short of a few pound feet... I love the boomerang tail lights although I recall Ralph Nader had a go at these in his book, "Unsafe at any Speed".
Hi Andrew, Good news! I have an updated video of this car (and dash in dark lite up too) and here is the link. Enjoy! Lou ruclips.net/video/NKqcmW9hy3E/видео.html
My dad had a 300D and traded it in for a 300F which was Black with natural tan leather interior. Being 18 at the time I thought I was really cool with the ram tube induction. Recall my dad shutting down several hot rodders in the Chevy's at the time, much to the delight of my brother and me.
my mom told me how she was taught to drive (and how to regain control of a spinning vehicle in the rain,) behind the wheel of one of these. my grandfather was not happy with the car, because it was too fast and used a good deal of fuel. I guess he thought it was a dangerous car to let his children drive around in. only have seen profile pics in car books, and this up close examination of this early mopar beast, is truly exciting. bravo.
Thanks for doing this video about 1960 Chrysler 300F! My Dad had a 1960 Chrysler Windsor which included @ Saratoga Power pac! As far as I can remember this power pac included 4 barrel carb & duel exhausts! If anyone can add anything to my recollection, would be appreciated!

Ah yes... My Car Story with Lou Costabile: The only classic car videos that I enjoy watching. Many videos I see posted featuring classic cars from the 40's, 50's, 60's, and so-on always feature a bad retro-theme throughout the video. For some strange reason, others try to rekindle past memories when the car was produced by including really bad music along with horrible graphics they feel will take you back to that so-called "special time" when these autos were prevalent ( malt shop, sock-hop, etc,.) Lou's interest and fascination for great classic cars take him directly to the source to those who own them, their stories that cover the overall history of the automobiles, restorations, if any, and the all over basic specifications and characteristics that made the featured auto unique in its day, and makes them a true classic in the present. My Car Story is a direct connection to those cars that have been prevalent as a mere young-pup, have been taken for granted during those times, blown-up during teen hot-rod events, and left for scrap. Truly astonishing how these autos now are now high collectibles as Lou Constabile covers in these extraordinary videos. Holy shit!! 'The Fonz' is at the door!! "Sit on it Potsie!!"
I remember a pretty little teenage girl who always sat in the back seat of her mom's 300G while her mom shopped for groceries. Turned out she was even more shy than I was... 😊 And, I remember a Chrysler ad about a couple who used their 300 to run rallys.
@@loucostabile It's amazing how the brain processes things in the background and then, once relieved of external stimuli, those things come forward. Lou Costabile Less hand held camera.I would employ the use of a tripod so you are in the shots more with the car and the owner- just a general wide shot that does not have to include the full length of the car and you can montage this with shots of the car close up, interior / exterior details. Beauty shots. More editing but better package. As far as interview style, try to get them to talk to you more, and you less- which is sometimes difficult but the set of general questions. When they got the car, was it restored, did they restore it themselves, a bit about them, their car history, work or hobby history, other cars they have now, how many owners of this car, why this car, the restoration process, etc. Then model specific including horsepower, gearbox, diff ratio , twin traction etc, top speed, 0- 60 if they know, suspension etc. Any mods they have or if they have modded it like MSD ignition etc. Run through the interior gauges and controls and then a quick road test. Done.
Ahhh I see Ramblin. You got called out, trying to justify it won't work- I'd just Ramble along pal, with your million subs... I did not say no hand held- too much hand held is not good in this forum. Fact. Nor does it take much time or money to have a tripod- or even a second camera in this age of cheap, decent digital cameras or simple editing suites. And your name is now Lou? I was asked and gave my opinion as a viewer and car fan. Technical stuff? Give me a break. It's a car! And an individual classic car that had different options when ordered. All of this 'boring' detail takes seconds and adds to my and others understanding of the car in context in it's period. Lets just show the upholstery...
You're getting a sample of being called out as an arrogant idiot. Period. Now ramble off and make all those wonderful epic hand held masterpieces. You're done, and I'm done with you Troll.

The luevered hood was not just used on the 300 it was used on the 61 Dodge Dart Phoenix also..a Chrysler club member should know his facts before going on a live interview
Hi Michael I, Good news! I'm learning, and if you watch the Channel you will too. PLUS, the Care Takers usually have all the info, so I'll ask the questions and we'll learn together. Stay tuned, Lou
Bonus! Here is the link to the updated video of this same car, let me know how I did! ruclips.net/video/NKqcmW9hy3E/видео.html
No need for sarcasm just pointing out facts ,, but you are the car experts now ,
The dashboard was designed by Jules Verne.

There's a reason you've only got 6k subscribers after 2 years...cars are great...interview style change needed...
I'm open to suggestions. What would you suggest would improve the interview style? Lou
John Texas
Rubbish. Like Jay Leno is a 'speciality channel'. Moron.
You're done, and I'm done with you Troll.
my father had 1958 Chrysler Windsor I was 8 years old and I was my father's sidekick I remember him whooping on 1957 J2 Oldsmobile with tripower Oldsmobile lost Ford had nothing either that would hang Chevrolet definitely did not

Obviously car designers of today need to pursue another line of work. In other words, they suck in comparison to the olden times.
