Just by watching this video , I am filled with a admiration and astounded feeling . The diversity of German is unimaginable and unsurpassed From Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun 🇯🇵
Local tips: Tübingen, Konstanz, Heidelberg, Freiburg, Bonn Koblenz castle area, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Berchtesgarden/Königssee, Warnemünde, Lübeck etc.
There is a heavy emphasis on the major cities in this video. One problem with them is that they were more or less devastated at the end of the war. I prefer the slightly smaller cities that retain their historic look and feel. E.g. Bamberg (one of the very few major cities not bombed in the war), Celle, Ratzeburg, Hameln, Trier, Goslar, Quedlinburg, Rothenburg o.d.Tauber (lots of tourists though), Dinkelsbuhl (nearly as pretty and not a tourist in sight), Einbeck and probably many, many more that I have not visited myself. There is a lot to discover in Germany!

In 1873, the German Merchant shipRobertoson was hit by a typhoon. The ship was aground off Miyakojima Miyakokuni. At that time, the islander rescues the crew. There were many Germans, but all were successfully rescued. And the Japanese treated all Germans wounds. And the Japanese made the Germans eat delicious food. They gave Germans a place to sleep. The Japanese entertained the Germans with songs and dances. The islanders repaired the German ship. The days were 34 days. And the islanders put a lot of food and water on the ship and sent the Germans to Germany safely. There are still monuments sent from Germany in Okinawa.Japan will always help Germans from now on.There are other stories of Japanese helping Germans. There are so many that I cannot write. After the war, the German city was destroyed and many Germans were killed. We Japanese are very sad about that. There is a tower in my town praying for the Germans soul to be saved. It is a story in the Bando camp.About 100 years ago, there were many German prisoners of war in Japan.Japan did not treat German POWs awfully. The Japanese treated German POWs as friends. Japan respected German POW freedom.Japan did not force German POWs to work. Germans were respected in Japan. It is more correct to say that the camp where the Germans were located is a German village than a camp.German POWs performed a concert a few days before parting. When the performance was over, the highest German thanked the Japanese. The Germans gave the Japanese a cane that he cherished. The German said, “To my beloved friend.”
I love the country sites much more then any of the cities. Drive around in Bavaria, along the Rhein or my favorite: the country site between Minden and Lemgo.
@@Celtjak7 you could also add Munich and Düsseldorf to this list. Since Munich is the city in Germany with the highest number of DAX entries in Germany and has lots of companies here like BMW for instance. And Düsseldorf is the capital of the most populated German state of NRW and also plays an important role. But when it comes to the real financial capital, the place belongs to Frankfurt.
I guessed the ten before watching, and named the exact same ten other than having Stuttgart in instead of Bremen. Been to Munich, Köln, Hameln, Dusseldorf and Hannover. Loved them. And the more industrial towns of Munchengladbach and Bochum. All for football with Rangers and Sunderland. Will be back some time and would love to spend some time for a holiday, without football being involved.

Hello. Thank you for this wonderful Berlin video. I visited Berlin in 1997. The cityscape of Berlin today is very nice both now and in the past. ★★★★★ Daisuke
Looks more like a list of the 10 biggest German cities, with the exception of Stuttgart and Hannover. I would say that Aachen and Potsdam have more to offer than Düsseldorf and Bremen, but never mind...
moin guys what about the cities in the Ruhrgebiet, there is a lot of special culture from the nindustrial revolution it is recoomenable. A visit to Essen or Dortmund is worth it
I like Lübeck, too. My home city is Aachen by the way. There are so much more cities in Germany deserve to be mentioned: Trier, Würzburg, Kassel, Mülheim, Hannover, Schwerin etc.
Look also "Penny Reeperbahn" or "Frankfurt Bahnhofsviertel" or "Göttingen Hagenweg" or "Duisburg Marxloh" and so many others very beautiful places you should be, when you are in Germany
Jim Beam no Berlin is not sexy. It has become very ugly with a lot of trash. In Prussia with the kaiser it was stunning with it buildings. Poor what it has become. I can name serveral better cities.
@@dakkktory6645 I can also name several very clean and monumental cities, but they are not sexy. And there is no link between trash and sexiness of the city.
Cibron Nethis i also talked about the buildings. So don‘t answer if you didn‘t read my whole answer. It‘s a fact that Berlin has become hella ugly and of course NOT sexy. How is that even...??? My goooodd man you are.... GRHHHHHH
2:19 ..."to see more then this country has to offer" rather to "some of the many" this country has to offer. ;-)) besides, the Brandeburg Gate has nothing to do with the 3rd Reich or the Nazis. It has been build in 1788 -91 as an entrance towards the Prussia Palace. 9:09 Hamburg also has the biggest Freight Railway Station in Europe, very important to move goods quickly onwards to its destinations.
Totally boring choices. All chosen cities are amongst the bigger cities in Germany, which doesn't automatically mean they're the top must-sees. Also there are only two cities chosen from the former GDR. As if GDR only consisted of what is now Saxony.
I'm from what once was the GDR and the only thing there I would recommend tourist to see, besides Leipzig and Dresden, is the Ostsee (baltic see), the Erzgebirge (Ore Mountain Range), the Spreewald (Spree Forest) and the Harz (a low mountain range). All the places are quite rural and the Harz actually was devided between the GDR and the FRG. Well, there are some nice caves, mines and villages in Thuringia and the city of Potsdam, too, is worth a trip. It offers you seightseeing tours through its various palaces and it is also home to the oldest large-scale film studio of the world, the Barbelsberg Film Studio, still Europe's largest film studio today.
Sorry, but quite dull and dry video. Good footage, but that's it. Very general info, making the cities almost the same (even if they are). It could have more soul, more specifics.
