    Hey everyone! I hope you enjoy today's video all about the best things to do in Munich. Let me know in the comments if there are any other activities you'd add, and as I mentioned in the video, you can find the link for my free map at the end :)
    PS sorry for the slightly later upload this week!! I was busy prepping for my big 6 month adventure in Europe so was panic packing, panic moving and then panic flying... but here I am. Greetings from the UK, and you can follow what I'm up to here on Instagram: instagram.com/happytowander/

    I've lived in Munich for two years and I'm a tour guide here and I must say these are the best tips and places to visit I've seen in a video, some real locals tips that I'm sure you'll annoy locals a bit by giving them away. You can really tell that you've spent a long time living here and great job! Even some spots I've added to my must visit list as well!

      Can you please help to frame a 4-5 days budget trip to Germany? Am interested to include Neuschwanstein Castle, Black Forest. Rothenburg. A good zoo (maybe in Berlin?). Thanks

    • @wikinger749a.d8

      @@aparnadas6204 thats definitely difficult, there is a zoo in munich as well though. instead of rothenburg which is generally filled with tourists I would do Bamberg which is a larger and offers more in architecture and history, easier to reach as well. I would pick a hostel to stay in Munich and buy a transportation ticket called deutschland ticket from hvv (beware its a subscription thats renewed every month so dont forget to cancel). I would combine a hike with a trip to neuschwanstein you can buy tickets to visit the inside of it online, or just hike around the outside for free. black forest is large and has quite a bite of travel time so inform yourself on that. Munich itself can keep you busy for the entrie trip with how much there is to see. personally I would reccomend staying at least a week especiall if you plan on longer day trips.

    As a local, this is a very good video and finally one that shows the entire city instead of just the Marienplatz and the area around that!

    Pro tip from a local: Rent some e-bikes. It's the fastest and most convenient way to get around town, and you will see a lot more than when taking the subway. There are also pretty nice tram routes. Don't even try to use a car unless you're visiting places out of the city.

    Hi. I am just wondering, if you don't mind me asking, where is this place i saw from the intro image of this video where there is a spiral staircase(Not the "Umschreibung" stairs since the image shows narrow spiral staircase). Looks like a library but i don't see it in your detailed info on places you suggest to go? We will be there in September and would like to visit this spiral staircase. Thank you. You have such a very detailed information.

      It's at Ganghoferstraße 29a, right next to the German Transport Museum (a subsidiary of Deutsches Museum) and the subway station Schwanthalerhöhe. It's in the courtyard of an office building, which isn't always open to the public, so keep in mind to go there during the day.

      Angermeier is the usual place to go, it's between Rindermarkt and Viktualienmarkt, right south of Marienplatz. There are also multiple smaller stores at Tal, right behind the Old Town Hall at Marienplatz.

    i just need to know if they serve cocktails/liquor as well as beer 😩😩 i’m not a beer person at all lol

    • @HappytoWander
      @HappytoWander  9 месяцев назад +3

      All bars will have cocktails and liquor! Beer gardens are trickier - some less traditional ones might offer cocktail options like an Aperol spritz but this isn’t super common. That said, there’s always soft drinks as a fallback!
      If it’s not an allergy and you just don’t enjoy the taste of beer, try ordering a Radler. It’s basically a mix of beer and citrus soda (eg Sprite) and is super tasty, refreshing and not too beer-like.
      Also, again, assuming it’s not an allergy - just have an open mind! Bavarian beer is SO good. I wasn’t much of a beer person before I moved there and I was converted lol.

    • @NeovanGoth
      @NeovanGoth 4 месяца назад +1

      It isn't completely random btw. Michael Jackson stayed several times at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof when he was in Munich for concerts, and one time even for three weeks of private vacation with his then wife Debby Rowe and his baby Prince Michael in 1998. Back then he roamed the city, visited Circus Krone, bought a ton of stuffed animals at the famous Obletter toy store, and even visited his friend and German promoter Marcel Avram at the Stadlhein jail (where all wealthy people from Munich seem to go every once in a while for taxation fraud ;)).
      Right after his death, fans took over the statue in front of Hotel Bayerischer Hof to create an ever changing memorial.

It's so many ads it makes me think of the scam sites. I don't think your site is a scam, but perhaps a few less ads would make it easier to use your page.

    nice video, I like your style, but as a german i think munich is a completely overrated city. The only nice thing might be the Isar River. I think every other bavarian city/smalltown is more beautiful. And probably less expensive ;). Plus the rest of Germany is beautiful too! Try Lüneburg in Lower-Saxony near Hamburg. It's so pretty.

    • @NeovanGoth
      @NeovanGoth 4 месяца назад +1

      Why? That's simply the story of that trail and the reason why Viscardigasse is also called Drückebergergasse. The only mistake is that the cobblestones marking the trail are not golden, but bronze.

    • @EndNuclearAgenda21
      @EndNuclearAgenda21 4 месяца назад

      @@NeovanGoth no, that trail is there to commemorate when Hitler and his friends stood up against the Weimar Republic government and his friends were shot dead in that main road, and a few of them ran down that alley to avoid being shot. Those little footprint trail things in that little side alley is where Hitler’s friends fled gunfire. Several of them were murdered in the main road there. How could you get that so confused?

    Why does everybody doing a Munich tourist guide starts with "Munich, Germany"? Oh no, don't tell me, the US named one of their towns the same, as per usual? Goodness gracious. And you think Americans or people from other nations would still not know which Munich you are talking about? Mind-boggling.
