Great review dude. I have one of these and love the light up windows (though the phaser arrays are a little chunky for my taste). Thanks for more great content!
The shooting model is painted in duck egg blue. The lighting on set makes her look grey. So essentially you have the on screen version, and the shooting model version. Interestingly her destruction is actually foretold in the episode "Yesterday's Enterprise" where Klingon torpedoes cause the same problem with the core as we see in Generations.
Great video Jerry! I wanted to get his when it came out but I thought it was a bit pricey back then...but now forget about it! Prices are though the roof for all three kits! What do you think? You think TOMY might come out with a diecast version of the D? Hope they do the REFIT! If they do I am so buying that! Have you considered doing the subscription Enterprise D from Fanhome? it's all metal and the lights are pretty awesome! It's huge too! But the build is lengthy and while not overly complicated, a very meticulous build!
Thank you for your kind words. Yes, the pricing is really starting to get out of control! I actually am building the Enterprise D. I’m up to issue 74. I have a full playlist from the first shipment on if you’re interested. Bye the way, a TOMY Enterprise D and Refit would be amazing!!!!
I picked up the newest Playmates ship I also bought the gold Playmates enterprise-d ship off eBay for $88 and then I picked up the diamond select Enterprise E for only $170 from nemesis I think I got a good deal.
I have earlier one piece from this, but i have sold because i have few things what i dont liked: there is not transparent ,,windows" so if somebody start turn the ship can see the bright leds inside. The nice look, painting, was killed with the saucer section battery cover (not hided well) and against glueing together all parts aoshima used screws what for we receive ,,covers". Also the magnet what hold the saucer section is weak . Almost every second time saucer falling down. So i think this is a nice looking 1701-d but have lot design defect - so the current japan scalpers 1000-1300 usd price tag is overpriced.
@@randomrazr From 1701-d there is no good choose, almost all have issue or visible missing details. If you have skills for build modells, amt snap fit 1701-d, if you want light and sound playmates first edition 1701-d (no aztec aint), in smaller scale eaglemoss smaller 1701-d with some small issues with window paint (have aztec paint) or corgi will re release the metal 1701-d in december (there is no final product photo actually). Origonal corgi 1701-d issue was the too dark aztec painting.
For a pre built and painted model, you will not beat this Aoshima. It definitely has some issues: The magnets that hold the upper and lower hull together are weak. The led lighting not being properly diffused causes some nasty hot spots. The paint scheme is not totally accurate. I myself have one an despite it's issues love it. Also I was lucky enough to have my base signed by Patrick Stewart at the Winnipeg Comic convention in 2012.
I really like the lighting effect, it makes a world of difference
I agree. The lit windows really bring her to life.
Do you have one
Excellent!

Thank you for watching! I am glad you enjoyed my video.

❤I love the uss enterprise d
woah this is a nice replica of enterprise D!
I love that the windows are lit!
@@TrekFanNCC-1701 me too!
I'm glad I bought the blue version and the Yamato when I did.
I would love to get the Yamato. Man, they are sky high in prices right now though.

@@TrekFanNCC-1701 OOOh I'll checkout the playlist!!!
i really wanted this model, but im surprised its so small
Yes, the 1/2000 scale is an odd scale, but the lit windows make up for it in my opinion.
I think this is arguably the most accurate enterprise D model available that's not some form of custom build
This is an amazing model! I just wish I could afford the Yamato as well.

Wow! I wish I could have mine signed! That made an amazing piece that much better!
Can’t find this on sale
They are increasingly rare. Seems like there are more of the USS Yamato on eBay than of the Enterprise.
Yes we’re could I purchase this
Well, I purchased mine off of Amazon about five years ago. Perhaps you could try Amazon or keep a look out on eBay.
@@TrekFanNCC-1701 I looked I couldn’t find it. I want one bad lol
@@JrMiles-cb2oh Best of luck with your search my friend. I hope you get one one day.
