I’ve been watching your ASL videos off/on for about 6-7 months. I saw this family in the store back then all using sign language and that inspired me to wanna learn. Even though I know no one who is deaf. Well recently, we were eating at Chic Fil A, and a homeless man came up to me with a sign saying he’s deaf. I immediately attempted to have a conversation with him using what little knowledge I know off the top of my head from watching your videos. I for sure was able to tell him hello, my name is Dustin, and I’m learning ASL. He told me his name, but he did it so fast I honestly have no clue what his name was lmao. But I could tell it made him happy to have someone communicate with him via ASL. And it made me feel good to finally be able to put my small ASL knowledge to work!
My husband is training to be a volunteer EMT and this is the perfect intro for him to learn the words necessary to communicate with a deaf person. I’ve been studying your videos for about 7 weeks now and just love your demeanor and enthusiasm. I’ve been interested in ASL since I was a freshmen in high school (45 years ago), and even took a course at my church, but this is the most I have learned thanks to your approach! Please keep the videos coming. And I’ll be wearing my “BE KIND” t-shirt once it arrives!
This is great! I work administratively at clinic and we have a lot of first responders who are on our staff. These videos will be so great because they are short and engaging! I can definitely persuade our supervisor to play these as educational resources because it’s just so convenient!
Thank you. I know this video won’t likely get as many views as your other videos but, as a first responder, I promise it will make a difference. Even in a rural part of the country, I encountered deaf people on a semi regular basis. This will make a huge difference
Awesome your videos and tips like always 🎉🎉🎉... not only for people interesting in sing language also people work in public service❤❤🎉🎉🎉... again great video
You always post such great/important content! I try to use these lessons daily in combination with your past lessong. I'd love to see content about (I know we don't like to talk about these things) but death/sympathy. Thanks for your continuing great job!
Question for you: why do you use the longer version of paramedic instead of P hand tapping radial artery, a la "doctor", "nurse", "veterinarian", etc? Had an instructor teach us that in medic class, and that seems much faster than the version here? Either way, very grateful for your classes and videos.
Hi, I am a first responder at a major airport. Could you do a video to communicate with travelers? Examples are Are you Ok?, Do you need help? where do you want to go? Arrivals level, departure level, baggage carousel, Passport, Visa, restroom, Are you traveling alone? Is someone picking you up? 1st floor, 2nd floor, taxi, uber/lyft, hotel, shuttle, subway, garage, etc. Thanks
“Thank you for your service,” is often used to military, not first responders You can also easily learn how to create that in sign language by watching grammar and vocabulary videos
Hello, great video on first responders. I'm a retired ASL interpreter now teaching at our community college. I was employed by a big city school district and worked at a high school. A couple of times my student's were arrested. Do you have a proper interpretation of the miranda rights. Thanks
I appreciate these videos a lot. As a 9-1-1 dispatcher I have wondered how to say "Call 9-1-1". Is there a special sign for 9-1-1, would you sign the numbers individually and do 9 then 1 then slide the second 1 over like double letters are done, or would it be nine hundred eleven?
if speed is a noun verb pair why do you it twice instead of once? wouldn't twice mean speed as in "the speed of the car"? and fast is the same amount of time? is there a way to differentiate noun verb adj pairs?
As someone new to the fire service and ASL, I'm excited to share this with the others in the department.

why didn't you sign "thank you for your service"? I'd love to be able to sign the phrase. Can you include it in the next one?

Can you do a video for music in signing; specifically a song called I am thankful? Me and my family are signing/singing for church.
Is there a way to get these in PDF form so that I can practice? If not that's fine and I am super thankful for these signs.

Hi
OO😮
Why wasn't it "you speeding you" instead of "you speeding"
In short, the “you” at the end is more textbook ASL. It is still understood conversationally without it.
