I want to let you know that it has been 1 year since I began learning ASL and it started with binge-watching your videos. I am now enrolled in ASL201 at my college and I am able to hold a basic conversation with a Deaf person. Thank you soo much for creating this channel. It truly helps. ❤
Thank you so much for these videos. All my life I want to learn ASL but never had the time. Now that I'm retired and I have all the time in the world. It would have been nice learning ASL when I was teaching English in Puerto Rico. I would have taught them few ASL words! Keep an awesome job teaching us ASL
Well, this has been a ride... I saw the DragonPrince cartoon series on Netflix and absolutely adored the character of General Amaya, who is supposed to be deaf. So I wanted to learn what she was actually signing in the series as the animations looked very realistic for a lay-person like myself. Ended up finding Tyrone Wells' explanation on his LetsChat channel and he had me enthralled. I don't even live in America but I was enamoured by the concept of SL so I kinda picked up a little bit of ASL for some reason. And now, several years later, youtube just spits out this channels' existance into my knowledge sphere and I can further my learning. Btw, I think everybody should learn a sign language as a 2nd language, or third, or fourth, I'm not picky. But the ability to communicate well without noise, over distance, is highly underrated.
I would really love signs for going to the dentists office, please. A video about signing with Koko would be interesting as well. I thought it was cool that Avatar: The Way of Water had sign-language with the animals (but I'm pretty sure it was their own Navee sign-language.)
I love these videos so much I actually made friends with 2 deaf people while at school today (I'm 15). they said they wanted to be friends and I actually understood it.:D
Yes could you please make a video for Popular places??!! Also, could you make another video of ASL sentence structure? I am struggling with translating an English sentence into ASL. Please and thank you!
In my case I am learning ASL from a casual class and interaction with Deaf community once a month. I can hold a simple conversation but have trouble with speed of others signing naturally. Which of your classes would be best in this case?
Way to go Sue! Interactions the Deaf community is the best way to learn. I would suggest our 101 Intensive so you have a strong foundation to increase your fluency. We would love to "see" you in a few weeks!
Hello Meredith, I look forward to LHTS videos weekly! This is a practical video. SIGNS BRAND NAMES I WANT. For Pizza Hut, you fingerspelled the whole name. Is it acceptable to sign PIZZA, and then fingerspell H-U-T?
...okay so how do you sign "I need to go to the hospital for my hurt shoulder" if the shoulder makes it so you can't reach that far XD I'm really curious about how signs get changed to account for various disabilities that limit movement or fine motor control (like handshapes).
hi, i have a question, how do you sign a specific city in a country? For example, the country is Philippines and I want to sign the capital city of Philippines which is Manila
