It was like the purge with werewolves 😎
Yeah you could pick endless holes in it but as an enjoyable popcorn film I thoroughly enjoyed it 👍🏻

Hey Kilty, the Wolf Man has hit theaters over here today.🐺 I think I'll try to catch a matinee either tomorrow or Sunday. Online it states that the movie is 1 hour and 43 minutes long. In the meantime I'm staying away from the reviews, I want to be able to go in without knowing much. Hopefully I won't regret it. Today I'm heading out of town to hit the shops looking for more goodies for the myself and a certain kilted warrior. 😉Also last night I decide to throw in the follow up to the 1972's Tales From The Crypt with 1973's The Vault of Horror. Another classic. And this one of course has Tom Baker in it. I thought his story was the best of the lot. Anyways I'm off, have a great day!💪🥃🥃🥃🥃
Yeah, Tom is terrific in this. He really could have hit Horror big time with this, The Mutations and Frankenstein The True Story, but a certain TARDIS came and whisked him off through time and space! 👍🫣

I'll try and jump on that soon.😉👍Speaking of Tom in Doctor Who, I'd love to send you a pic through email of me dressed as Tom's Doctor. I've also attempted William Hartnell's Doctor and Patrick Troughton's Doctor. Out of those two I think I did Patrick Troughton the best especially when he would make those sour faces.😠👌

I did see this transformation clip for this new Wolf Man and it was certainly better than everything we've seen so far. I'll try and go see it as well just out of morbid curiosity. Hopefully it won't suck furry wolf balls.🤮I have seen Late Phases and it was good.👍 The lead guy reminded me of Charles Bronson which made the movie even cooler to me. 😎Loved all the practical effects in the movie. I haven't seen those other werewolf movies that you mentioned. I did go to see Werewolves in theater and I did like it. Hope you get to see it soon and I hope you enjoy it too. Looking forward to your review of this new Wolf Man after you see it. God willing you'll come out of theater howling with joy. 👍🐺Fingers crossed, mate.🤞😉

P.S. Finally got around to getting a copy of Superstition from 1982 and watched it for the first time. Not bad at all. Plenty of gore.🩸🤘 Wish they had showed the witch's/creature's face some where before it ended (I'm not counting the flashback scenes) but all they showed throughout the movie were the hands🙌 but those did look good. 👍
Ahhhh, Superstition aka The Witch, was a great wee gem during the 80s. It dallied about as a nominal Nasty during the home video purge.
Wolf Man may surprise us all.
But it could suck ass. And then some! 😂😂
Nick Damici in Late Phases is a terrific actor, though hardly known - which is criminal.

The maquettes glimpsed on the behind the scenes featurette were promising. In particular the one shown snarling looked more "wolfman" than what weve seen so far.
Also did you ever see the recent Australian series Wolf Like Me? Special little tv show with an amazing werewolf in my opinion that suits the tone and themes of the show perfectly.
That's a horror comedy show, isn't it?
I've not seen it, but it revolves around a female werewolf and her troubled relationship ... or something.

My favourite scene of the wolf man is when he escapes from the building with all the psychiatrist and starts tearing them apart and escaping over the roof tops
My favourite, which I've discussed a few times, is the deleted scene in the Crystal Palace with the blind opera singer. Really should kept that in.

I've seen a lot of behind the scenes stills of the creatures and the werewolf is culled precisely from the Eddie Quist breed in The Howling. Awesome.

I'm about to stick the kettle on and look forward to watching this, mate! I have to say that I really want this film to be good, as Im a fan of Whannel's previous work for the most part. I just can''t get over how ridiculous the creature design looks, it looks so goofy from what we've seen! xD edit: Just watched that transformation clip and its kinda cool tbf, but I'm still not sold on the overall look.
You've definitely got two monsters in this. Our boy will be struggling with the transformation and then, once changed, will surely battle the other one (his father?) in his protection of his family. His pack.

I read tons of horror. There aren't many quality werewolf novels compared to vampires, ghosts, and zombies.
I hated the recent Invisible Man.

39:00 Ha: "Wolfman is everything I wanted, & then some" would mean the writer didn't want some of what's in the film.
Critics, all journalists really, reduce writing to soundbites nowadays. And paid to be on the cheerleaders' team. It raises the Q of what film critics (& music reviewers) are for.
I prefer *describing* over *explaining* , but a writer has to be good with metaphors & observation & scene-setting & sensing atmosphere to make that distinction. Describing better channels enthusiasm, I find. But I couldn't survive in the new millennium because I'm enthusiastic about nothing that isn't already decades old. Every column would be a grouch that brings everybody down & annoys the sponsors.
Writers don't get paid for that kind of freedom anymore. So instead we get writers dining out on, "Wolfman is everything I wanted, & then some."
Saying to the waiter, "Chicken madras please my man, & then some. Can you put then some in a separate dish, because I don't actually want it."
"I am zorry zir, we are out of then some."
"That's alright it doesn't mean anything anyway."
"Yez zir. We are also out of chicken madras."
"F-- me."
I made that very same mistake in The Bengal-Then-Some. The Chicken Tikka-Then-Some was delicious. And then some. But the Prawn Bhuna-Then-Some gave me the roaring chutneys.
