He's a real asset to the community now BH... He works at Indigs and welcomes everyone with a smile.. May Hashem grant him peace in his remaining years... We all can make mistakes in life... Its what we do after that shows true defining character... Never give up on anyone we are all G-ds offspring... Having said that Stamford hill has produced some solids characters over the years... Its a black and white community but where there is colour its like an exploding rainbow... May Moshiach come speedily in our days..

I was in jail in NYC with a Hasidic. He was so clueless about modern life that he was arrested for trying to sell 300 ecstasy pills on craigslist. People used to clown on him like crazy, and we really did some fucked up pranks on him, but he was a sport...we kinda protected him for the most part. I heard he went right back into jail after he got out for unpaid child support though.

I grew up in what could best be described as a sort of orthodox Christian community (not Greek Orthodox, just Orthodox (very very observant) Christian). And I can say, and I think any kid who grew up in an orthodox community of any type (Islam, Christian, Jewish, etc) that you have this feeling that you are protected, that the adults really care about you. Our family split away from the orthodox Christian community and became Catholic and I think that was a mistake, not because Catholicism is bad but b/c religion is not so useful if it's practiced 45 min/week. I really miss the life I had as a kid and wish I could find a way back there but I don't know how to go back. But still to this day, I always love to see observant people of any religion and I feel a connection to them. Go to any observant religious community and sure, they will have strange customs, but if you can look beyond that, you will see a decent people willing to endure hardships and lend a hand to the stranger and that's a cool thing to me that I always respect so much

100% true. I've seen in with religious Jews, Born Again Christians, Mormons, and more. I think that some of it involves the way outsiders look at them. For instance, in Tsarist Russia (which ruled all of Slavic Europe) my Jewish ancestors really had to watch their step, because they were despised by Christians. If one Jew committed even a minor misconduct, the entire Jewish community would have to pay for it. If a Jewish peddler cheated a customer, the magistrate would bill the Shtetl collectively. But here in the USA (or in the UK) there's no legal collective responsibility, and the government doesn't deal with us as a block. So we're less paranoid about outsiders seeing us negatively. There's also the "model minority" ideal, where we promote ourselves as being nothing but good, and the authorities believe it.

740: In 740 A.D. in a land locked between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, known as Khazaria, a land which today is predominantly occupied by Georgia, but also reaches into Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Hungary, and Romania, the modern Jewish race is born. A modern Jewish race that incidentally is not Jewish.
How can this be, you ask? Well at that time, the Khazarian people felt vulnerable people as they had Muslims on one side of them and Christians on the other side of them, and thus constantly feared attack from either side. Furthermore, the Khazarian people were of neither faith and instead practiced idol worship, which made them ripe for invasion by a people who wished to convert them to an established faith.
The Khazarian King, King Bulan, decided in order to protect themselves against attack, the Khazarian people must convert to one of these faiths, but which one? If they converted to the Muslim faith they would risk attack by the Christians and if they converted to the Christian faith they would risk attack by the Muslims.
He had an idea. There was another race that he was aware was able to deal with both the Muslims and the Christians on either side of him, predominantly in matters of trade. A race that also dealt with Khazarians in the same manner. That race was the Jews. King Bulan decided if he instructed his people
to convert to Judaism he could keep both the Muslims and the Christians happy, as they were both already willing to trade with the Jews, so this is what he did.
King Bulan was right. He would live to see his country unconquered, and his people convert to Judaism enthusiastically and adopt the principles of the holiest Jewish book, the Talmud. There are many things the king would not have to see, however.
He would not live to see his Asiatic race of converts to Judaism, one day represent 90% of all the Jews on the planet, and call themselves Ashkenazi Jews, when in fact they were not Jews, but simply an Asiatic race of people who converted to the Jewish religion, whilst still continuing to speak the Khazarian language of Yiddish, totally different to the language of Hebrew.
He would not live to see his people turn to the descendants of a man, far more powerful than him, who would be born just over 1,000 years later in Germany, a man named Bauer, who would spawn the Rothschild dynasty.
He would not live to see this dynasty usurp the wealth of the world through deception and intrigue, which they would finance through the vast riches they accumulate as they usurp the wealth of the world by gaining control of the world's money supply.
He would not live to see his people demand a homeland for themselves in Palestine as their birthright, and ensure every Prime Minister there from its inception in 1948 is an Ashkenazi Jew, even though the true homeland of the Ashkenazi Jews, Khazaria, is his kingdom, some 800 miles away.
And he would not live to see his people fulfill bible prophecy, as the "synagogue of Satan."

This documentary made me very uneasy. I found the interviewer rather disrespectful and patronising. The filming seemed to focus mainly on the dreary side of life, even the lighting was consistently sombre. As though the film makers were determined to create an aesthetic that conveyed a financially and spiritually poverty stricken community.
I am not jewish, but some time ago I used to go to an all women's gym, which was frequented by many young women from this community. I was struck by their vivacity, strong personalities, joyous sense of humour, all of which were hidden by their wigs and austere clothing. I am always impressed by the children when I see them out and about; the older ones always taking good care of the younger ones.
I understand that the the film makers were restricted in their access (especially to women) but I think they could have found ways to give a more rounded picture of a community that few people know much about. In fact I think they should have seen it as a responsibility in a world where anti-Semitism is a reality.

FYI Girls generally begin to look for their match from 18-20 years old. At 12 a girl is responsible for herself observing Jewish law. At 13 for a boy as they mature slowly. It's not a sexual thing that they're considered adults. Even though it happens to be around the age a girl gets her period. It is about maturity to be self responsible for their Torah observance and the parents are no longer responsible for their children’s religious choices. From three is the age of chinuch, the age we start teaching children. Girls may also start lighting candles with their mums at that age for shabbos and boys get their first haircut, start wearing tzitzit and a kippah.

If they were to evict him, a physical confrontation after notice ,is enough. No need for dogs,if he gets violent then that's what police re for, but defend yourself accordingly.
What's legal and illegal doesn't necessarily correspond to what's right or wrong.

If he were a regular citizen in main stream U.S., his felony charge would have limited some avenues of employment & if he didn't have family or community that supported his reform, the temptation to fall back into crime & hanging out with other criminals would be a reality, he'd be in & out of prison & a burden on society, except for those employed in the judicial/incarceration/legal systems & affiliated institutions.

One thing I’ve never understood. If the community doesn’t value education as much, they do not go outside their community for work, nor does their business ventures cater for non-Jews, how on earth do they make money?!
How does one guy become a property developer and the guy who gave a flat to Samuel, how is he so “wealthy”. Where does the money come from?

A lot of them are Jewelers or involved in the management of Mines or Factories. You don't need an education for that. But a lot of them live in poverty. It's simply dignified poverty because the community always takes care of its own. Religious Jews don't believe in charity. There is no word for charity in Hebrew. There is only Tzedaka which means justice. When we give to others we are not being generous. The money was given to us by God to make his world a better place. Because we love God and respect his laws, we are happy to do his will and help our fellow.

      Woulnt call Samuel solid.
The guy can be quite a weasel.
The interviewer pressed him for all she could.
Samuel played this role of a very slippery angila. Even if he wanted to brag he would quickly bite his tongue.
The jewish community had to tolerate this insidious intrusion with cameras and crew and all.
Samuel sure go his cut from this documentary, then guy needs some income, right?
All in all Samuel showed that he is still corrupted (at the time of filming) and becoming cockier through the progression of the film as he "finds his ground".
Did you notice that they dont want their children to "see that" on television?
Samuel talked more about his sweets addiction than anything else.
