This is a distance run testing the DJI Mavic Pro in the UK (CE mode) where the claimed distance is 4KM. Everything is stock including antenna and battery. I achieved 6KM out (6000m - 3.7miles) and returned to take off location with just 10% battery at a total journey of 12km. Full throttle the whole way fighting a 10mph wind. Distance run over farm land for safety.

Why did u return using RTH? Should have flown back manually. U Wud have reached with 40% remaining, I guess.
Kevin Stewart RTH uses the least amount of battery for distance. it used 60% battery coming back because it had a headwind, you have to be careful when flying that you know the wind directly and speed
I did the same two years ago. Top distance recorder was 6.030m but managed to land with still 14% of battery left. Never tried again to go further but I think 7k is possibile with stock batteries
good flight, great timing on return
Thanks Brian, given I returned home at 70% I didn't think it would be that close!
your opinion does sport mode drain the battery faster? would it get further if sport mode was not used or may by not? cool vid and u got 2km further than I was brave enough to
Yes I believe sport mode uses more battery as it gives more power to the motors causing a faster drain. The plus side it is will get to the destination faster but I'm not sure how much 1km in sport mode vs 1km in normal mode what the battery usage difference is. I WILL TEST!
On a quick 1km test I found sport mode used 9% battery and doing the same journey again without sport mode it used 7% battery.
JC Entertainment shot man!!! good to know...adds up over a 12km turn around trip....just got my mavic back from China for repairs today so will find me a nice spot and see how it goes ;-) ....keep the vids coming :-)
Glad you have your's back, why did it need repairs? Don't go doing any 12km trips... stay on the safe side lol
JC Entertainment lol I ment it would add up on a 12km trip...6km out then 6km back ;-) I pushed out to 4km then on way back....sport mode chewed far to much battery and had to land 1km out..had some lagging video probs...clipped small shrub broke gimbal :-/ just tested and alls fine again :-) yeeey
What screen recorder app do you use? Cool video ;)
DU Recorder for Android. Great app!
Dji say the Mavic will fly up to 7 kilometres away or 4.1 miles, I've not yet had the balls to go much beyond 400 yards yet.
Happy flying, stay safe.
BTW, doesn't the Mavic use Google maps on android? I thought it was only the Phantoms that use here maps?
7km is correct but not in Europe, we are limited to a theoretical 4km. DJI GO 4 on android they are using HERE maps annoyingly.
Green Silver you just have to trust your little Mavic. Furthest I've gone is 6000ft. That was a little nerve wracking, but have faith in RTH
so they arnt capped to 4km here in the uk,
chriscrowderguitar no mate, the controller provides less power in Europe so technically it shouldn't go as far. in good locations it still has enough power to go far. in more urban areas it won't go as far as it would in other countries.
thanks for this video brilliant ..was thinking we were going to get some watered down version here in the uk that would barely make a mile
mark pulling thanks Mark I was thinking the same as you but glad it can manage this with very little effort. please check out my 7km run to!
yes watching it now thanks ,will be ordering one soon :)
just a quick question ,do you have to keep tapping touch to focus on the phone screen during the flight or will just a couple of taps do it ,yours looked very clear through the whole flight to me thanks mark
mark pulling I have it on center auto focus so no you dont have to keep tapping the screen.
ok great thanks ,i didnt realise you could put it on auto focus
Nice flight
I wonder how many people will add/call that number now? Hope no one puts it on the toilet wall or phone booth.
Thanks to some RUclips magic I have blurred it out now :)
Why did you feel the need to fly at almost twice the legal altitude?
Wow, that's really impressive. What's the law in the UK, is it allowed to fly out of sight? I'm Germany it's prohibited... anyway, thanks for sharing, keep that going!
Franka Pottente thanks Franka it was in my line of sight ;-)
JC Entertainment Haha, per definition it was in your line of sight, I know what you mean... Cool, have fun with your Mavic :)
It's the same in every country but who cares keep your aircraft under 400ft and 5 miles away from any airport fly over Greenland or water they don't give a fuck.
Michael Steinweber
So, are you taking it back because it does 6KM instead of 4KM?
gravit0nable haha definately not
JC Entertainment how come you get 7km ?? in uk I need this crazy distance x
chriscrowderguitar this was a good slightly elevated location with low interference. yours will do the same given a good location pal, no tricks here.
1:45 I checked my phone thinking I got a message :D
Mad ting
Lol, just done my 5km over water today 8 mph winds had the police watching too it was extremely exciting
Sounds exciting man, did they say anything to you? I had roughly the same winds on this day hence getting to 6km with 70% battery remaining still..
The police cannot do anything if you flying over water or land but you hover over schools, police station, cities or flying next to football stadiums or within 3 miles airport they will say you violated drone laws.
I tend to do all my long range over beaches early in the morning when the weather permits and no member of the public is about.
That was being to cautious 70% low battery warning.
Where does the blur come from in the second part of the vid?
Thats a RUclips feature, I'll sort that out thanks
i want to question, your drone how to go 50km with gps.mode, but not sport mode, my drone normal.mode 35 km/h, please.explain
mehmet kadir çakır
Turn off your oa
How do you record the screen of the phone?
Screen recorder from the Playstore
My hero!
Wow I found that an enormously stressful experience :-) Was your heart pounding or are just a super cool dude :-)
Richard Northover I try to keep my cool unless there's a problem, constantly doing the math in my head to make sure I can get home. check my other vid for 7.1km!
What video transmission settings do you use?
Just whatever it defaults to pal.
JC Entertainment Cheers
Very nice . Many safe flights. If you want on our channel, our first video with the mavic meanwhile also 10 days in our possession. Many greetings to everyone
Do I dare ask how you managed to get the altitude you did when I thought the mavic pro could only reach 100m? Lol
James Wills all Dji drones are limited to 500m, 100m is fairly low pal.
