    Blackbeard should be the final boss because he’s the same as Luffy.
    One Piece is a story about freedom. Every arc has tyrants or the World Government showing how evil they are. So many battles are about fighting to be free.
    Luffy should fight Imu to prove that the world should be free… Only for Blackbeard to show up and remind us that not all freedom is necessarily good.
    Luffy and Blackbeard should fight to determine what sort of freedom rules the world after Imu is gone.

    Morj skipped how Kuzan changed up his Fighting Style for Garp. Garp himself displayed that Kuzan was holding back. Kuzan didn't take significant damage from Garp. Garp rolled up into a Yonko Territory. That wasn't fully a Yonko's Crew.

    I think Imu's Devil Fruit is related to the constellation Draco. Some images show the tongue of Draco looking exactly like that which stabbed Cobra and Sabo. Not to mention, Draco, in Phoenician/Canaanite traditions, was believed to have been slain by a Sun-God. It would also make sense that Imu is THE Celestial Dragon, literally a Dragon in the Stars.
    There is so much more to Phonecian culture and their beliefs that parallel so much to One Piece. One of their biggest feats was shipbuilding, for starters. They also at one point made their own language (relates to the poneglyphs!) Babylonian astronomy follows the same, Draco represents a goddess (that's right, female, like IMU is expected to be) who opposes the order that the gods are trying to keep (the gods being the World Government, explains why Garp won't become a subordinate to the Celestial Dragons because he does believe in that order/justice)
    ALSO many people think Imu of having the devil fruit Model: Devil (an incarnation of the Devil itself). As the thing that stabbed Sabo and Cobra looks similar to that of the Devil's tail in its normal depiction. My theory still could match that as well, as the Serpent (Represented by Draco) in the Bible was the Devil possessing the creature!
    I hope Morj sees this, because I think I cooked maybe :P

    Quick garbage theory - What if Imu was originally going after the Yami Yami fruit or was originally a user of it during the Void Century, and the immortality operation caused Imu to lose the fruit (since Imu might be a completely different type of species or entity entirely the operation may affect them differently than it would on a somebody like Luffy or Doffy). The final villain isn’t gonna be one or the other but both of them, cause BB is gonna use his fruit to absorb Imu and its powers becoming 1 being. We still have no idea what BB’s lineage is so the special properties of his body could come into play there

    I was thinking that Blackbeard may steal Imu's devil fruit by killing her to strenghten his crew by turning them into monsters comparable to the gorosei... This plan could explain the infiltration type devilfruit of some blackbeard's crew members, a plan to infiltrate Marijoa and assassinate the head of the place. That could be the easiest way to give them a prztty significant power up alongside devil fruit awakening and that could lead to Oda drawing interesting designs and powers for Teach's crew, who could use their monster form in top of their awakened devil fruits to give their mugiwara counterpart a difficult fight...
    Blackbeard and his crew could be the new masters of the world and could lead a new era of absolute but extremly dangerous freedom. So it could be an ideologic fight opposing Luffy's vision of freedom and friendship to Blackbeard's vision.
    We could also envision a world where Teach's crew and Luffy's crew would circonstancially form an alliance to take down the WG for a reason of survival. Then Teach could steal Imu's power and give monster transformations to his crew members...

    What is interesting to me is that with Saturn gone, the WG isn’t privy to BB’s actions on Egghead. They likely won’t be as vigilant when dealing with BB, so it’s very likely that his next plan to undermine the WG will succeed without much issue.

    I think it will be Imu because Blackbeard and Luffy are both D Clan and they both are vying for the One Piece. To me they have similar character goals so I don't think it will be Luffy vs Teach as the final battle, I have never really seen Teach as a true Villain in the series, an antagonist sure but ultimately a pirate with dreams just like any other. They will battle for the One Piece for sure but I personally see it happening, Luffy wins and there were be some good character moments between the two of them etc. And then the world government will come last after Luffy has either found the One Piece or is the only one left who can claim it and then he has to go through Imu.

    People are saying a lot that imu should be defeated and then black beard because black beard represents the bad freedom. But i think what black beard truly will be is the final competitor for the one piece. Yhe fight with black beard will represent narratively what type of freedom should challenge tyranny.

  • @QRM00
    @QRM00 Месяц назад +10

    I would be shocked if the final villain isn't Imu and the WG. During the Sabaody arc when the Straw Hats met Rayleigh, they learned that when they find the One Piece, they will learn the truth about the world's history. Presumably, on Laugh Tale there will be a void century/Joyboy flashback which will show us the true history and injustices of the past (my prediction: Joyboy's life story is what makes Roger laugh. Despite all the pain, sorrow, and hardship that Joyboy goes through, his spirit never falters). It is at this point when the Roger Pirates learned what they needed to do to change the world - or rather, they learned that they were too early. The natural progression of the narrative suggests that the Straw Hats will reach Laugh Tale and then they will change the world.
    I think the Straw Hats will have their long-awaited final clash with Blackbeard either right before Laugh Tale or on the island itself. That is no small feat either. Teach will be the final obstacle in the way for Luffy to achieve his first/primary dream. The 2 of them will have a tremendous philosophical clash that will go down in manga history.
    It would also be very anti climactic if the Straw Hats save/free the world from nearly a millenia of authoritative rule and THEN find the One Piece and learn the history of the void century AFTER the fact.
    This is all under the assumption that the Straw Hats don't find out everything about the Void Century before reaching Laugh Tale. We will probably learn a good chunk about the past once Robin reunites with Saul (specifically the name of the ancient kingdom, as Ohara knew its true name), however Saul will only know whatever info the scholars were able to preserve from the fire.
    With that being said, I don't think there is anywhere else in the world where the true history can be hidden. Imu would smite the island where the truth is hidden or a buster call would have been called at some point in the past 800 years. No one knows where Laugh Tale is; it can only be found after finding the 4 road poneglyphs, which have been carefully protected throughout the New World. In my opinion, the crew are much closer to finding the One Piece than they are to thwarting the WG and Imu.

    • @QRM00
      @QRM00 Месяц назад +6

      My argument isn't about debating who's the better final villain for Luffy, but rather what is more impactful to the overarching story being told? Is one man's lifelong dream of finding the legendary treasure and becoming the freest in the world more important to the narrative than freeing the entire world from their chains?

      Agreed

    • @Rl55322
      @Rl55322 Месяц назад +1

      I think it’s too early to give imu the title of final villain when we still don’t know who has the last poneglyph. If he’s works for/is allied with the world government, then it may take toppling the whole government to find him. Besides, Blackbeard’s intro painted him as luffy’s narrative opposite whereas imu would be the final villain only by his position rather than character. Finally, we know from Rocks and from Blackbeard that some D tribe members are (seemingly)completely opposed to the rest. Whatever failure resulted in joyboy’s defeat from 800 years ago may have came from blackbeard and rocks’ ancestor of the D tribe, which may mean that Blackbeard is fated to be luffy’s greatest enemy

    Personally, I think Blackbeard makes way more sense as the final obstacle to Luffy being proclaimed Pirate King, and Imu is the final obstacle for Luffy achieving his second dream.
    Definitely not a Kaguya situation, to me Imu is already more interesting than Kaguya because Kaguya had literally zero character. Even the little we’ve eeen from Imu already is more substantial.

    Oh Boy! My favourite fan theory! I have been saying this for years now: Blackbeard will infiltrate Marigoise, capture Imu and secretly become the new King of the World. He will throw the world into an age of darkness which will set up Luffy to defeat him and bring the dawn.
    Since then so much has came out which supports this:
    -Blackbeard's crew has been set up as amazing infiltrators with Laffitte, Catarina Devon and Van Augur
    -He is looking to elevate his status to become an official King, which should give him access to Marigoise - possibly through an invite to accept becoming King, or something else like the Reverie. This is becoming more likely now that he has Garp and can use him to trade up to become King.
    -Once in Marigoise, there is a strong chance that one of the infiltrators will wonder off and find out about Imu. Maybe hypnotise some guards for information about "the Phantom Room", or by spying as its told there are only a few guards.
    -After finding out about Imu, he can warp into the phantom room, capture Imu using the Darkness fruit and then have Catarina Devon impersonate Imu
    -Blackbeard now rules the world in secret, ushering in an age of Darkness!
    -Luffy then defeats Blackbeard, ushering in a new Dawn!

    FIRST HALF OF ONE PIECE IS A CHARACTER DRIVEN STORY, THAT'S WHY ITS SO GOOD, AS READERS CAN FEEL THE PLOT
    The second half has been plot driven, so that's why it feels artificial, like plot armour for many characters, like characters are puppets. Right now, if Oda wants to write the last boss of One Piece, he needs to give comparable backstory to him/her, else this will just become another dragon ball.

      Morj is just a sore loser on this one because he didn't see it coming despite all the evidences being there.

      Blackbeard may not be responsible for the state of the world at large but he is a direct foil to luffys character and has affected luffy personally way more than Imu has. Honestly it’s a toss up between either in terms of who’ll be the final villain. If nothing else Blackbeard and luffy are both pirates, and they have that in common against Imu plus Imus military is way superior. Could be a situation where they form an alliance to take down Imu. Their combined power can believably defeat Imu, but it’s hard to imagine luffy agreeing to an alliance with Blackbeard. Maybe rather than a formal alliance, Blackbeard makes the strategic decision not to antagonize luffy and work against Imu simultaneously with luffy. Though not as effective as full cooperation it’ll still effectively make it so Imu has to contend with them both at once and eventually lose. It would be very like Blackbeard to do that as he’ll accept that neither he nor luffy could take down Imu alone, but also be smart enough to understand luffy wouldn’t ally with him. Incidentally, they were both fighting against the world government in the egg head island arc. Blackbeards crew didn’t interfere against luffy even though they had the chance to, they targeted the world government instead. For his part, luffy is not going to go out of his way to start a fight with Blackbeard. He knows that battle is an eventuality and won’t seek it out, he’ll just deal with what’s relevant in the moment. In egghead it was the Gorosei, in Elbaf it’ll be shanks. Blackbeard and Imu come later and the order won’t matter to him, but it will to Blackbeard.

The double standard is crazy, when BB and half of his crew jumped Law and his weak crew he had to protect them and fight at the same time and we see only the beginning and the end but most of the fandom thinks that BB low diffed despite the fact that BB was pretty battered and in anf anf mode.

      Considering Garp has at least 20 years of battleship bag training over Kuzan, up until his capture. Garp is physical 20 years stronger in haki and raw strength when you get down to it. As he is a conquerors haki user! Garp has 40 years minimum of haki training through the battleship bags routine every day while Kuzan has as least 20 at best? Kuzan has the ice fruit as well! Garp is still stronger because he was still doing this major training even in his old age! Garp is still stronger than even Akainu maybe it's a high diff for Garp!

      @@DANCERcow if you are talking about his prime yeah you are right and another thing, it is not confirmed that Garp has haoshoku haki but it seems he has it

      But law did not try to protect his crew, the crew were protecting him. He was fighting Blackbeard.

      @@itsxtra252 before the fight started he flowed his bosõshoku haki in his body and in all crew members to nullify doc Q disease and he teleport his crew to protect them from Burgess probably he had to do it also when he fought BB because his crew is weak, without Law Robin can defeat them all for example if bepo isn't in his Sulong form
