It'd be nice to see you visit Marbella again like a local. You missed quite a few spots!!! You only saw the touristy Marbella. People often forget that Marbella has locals and we are not rich 😅 There are many fantastic and afordable places to visit here. Canuto máquina! Si lees esto, un abrazo.
I've been to Marbella several times. I've eaten at both the high end and local restaurants. I personally enjoy eating at Old Town Marbella. Sipping glasses of Amontillado in the old town square surrounded by orange trees is unforgettable I remember the old El Balcon de la Virgen. I don't know if it is still there....

No solo restaurantes, el Marbella Club es simplemente espectacular o tiendas de decoración como Pantay o La Fábrica de hielo que no he visto en Madrid o Barcelona. También Barbillón es muy recomendable no solo por cómo se come sino por su decoración y ambiente junto a la playa.

Was there a few weeks ago .there are a row of 5/6 chiringuitos along from the old town all cooking fresh fish on spits with a wood fire. Some of the best seafood I've had. Also recommend Bogeda la vinicia for amazing baby goat and suckling pig 👍

All the food looked incredible! I’m from California, so the prices were reasonable, comparatively speaking. Our food would not be so special for the same price.
Completely agree. I lived in California and the prices there are comparable (if not higher especially for high-end). Currently I live in Norway and these prices are very good actually :), at least for the quality you get. Finally, I lived in Malaga/Benalmadena and the prices in average restaurants are not really cheap. The video is great and the food looks amazing

The cost is basically for the ambiance and a creative way of presenting brand name, a cocktail with the same ingredients you can buy cheaper at any liquor store and food you can make at home. It's interesting to see what lies for the amount of money they charge at a tourist area which I will stay far away from. Thank you, from Horta, Barcelona.

Hi all, and James. Wagyu - Wagyu means "Domestic Beef" in Japanese, it isn't a type. Japanese beef producers began putting stickers on their products declaring "Wagyu", in order to differntiate their higher cost products from (mostly) cheaper Australian imports. An appeal to economic nationalism. If I'm eating wagyu in Spain, then I'm eating Spanish beef. If I'm eating wagyu in Thailand, I'm eating Thai beef? When in Spain, a country that produces excellent beef, would it be necessary to import lower, or equal, quaility meat at inflated prices I'm always very suspicious of the use of the term wagyu outside of Japan since it isn't a type of beef, so what does it mean outside of the context of Japan? Kobe beef is similar in that it isn't a type of beef, it was simply a description of the cooking style, American style. Does a restaurant serving Kobe beef source it's product strictly from Hyogo prefecture? Maybe, and just as likely, not. Thank you for your indulgence. I know I'm being THAT "Well, actually..." guy, but this is one of the things that gets the pedant in me going.
This place had Japanese wagyu and Spanish wagyu (cows were born in Japan then shipped live and ‘finished off’ & slaughtered here). We tried the spanish version.
The food in this video looks great and very tasty. But its so expensive ! Especially the second place, with lunch for 2 persons for over 400 Euros. Thats really crazy. I could never afford that, and even if I could, I would not be willing to pay so much money for one single meal. You did say that you got the food for free, which I really appreciate. But I am not sure if you are really unbiased in this video. You praise the restaurants, even though you would never pay so much to eat there. That seems a bit contreversional / strange to me.
I don’t think James said he would never pay to go to any of these restaurants! In fact when we left the beach club James said to me “I’d love to come back with Yoli”! Talking personally (although I think James would agree) we are not food critics. Therefore if I don’t like something we just don’t talk about it. The route was planned based on places we knew we already loved or wanted to try because we believed we’d truly have a fabulous food experience there as that’s what we are both passionate about. I hope that helps alleviate any doubts you have about the authenticity of our opinions in this or any other video ☺️

In Spain I like Burger King because it is the only place you can find soda refills. You can add your own ice too. Kind of rare in Spain. They forgot the recipe for ice there.

Honestly I have been going to Burger King in Spain since 1984. First one I went to was in Salamanca. Do not diminish cold drinks. Sure you could get a granithada at the square, but no refills.

I may be old school, but when James was in Marbella with Yoli at these beautiful, expensive, Michelin star, upscale locations, is it asking too much for him to not look like he just took out the garbage from his house? Wearing old jeans, a t-shirt, days of unshaven beard growth, etc., in my mind it shows a lack of respect for the establishments he was visiting, their guests and himself. Just saying.
Went to Marbella regularly, many times per year until 2012. Stop going when it became a bling-bling crap hole for drug dealers and "social media influencers" (whatever the hell these morons are). God knows what its like now, feel very sorry for the locals that have watched their town turn into this .....

Honestly I have been going to Burger King in Spain since 1984. First one I went to was in Salamanca. Do not diminish cold drinks. Sure you could get a granithada at the square, but no refills.

I may be old school, but when James was in Marbella with Yoli at these beautiful, expensive, Michelin star, upscale locations, is it asking too much for him to not look like he just took out the garbage from his house? Wearing old jeans, a t-shirt, days of unshaven beard growth, etc., in my mind it shows a lack of respect for the establishments he was visiting, their guests and himself. Just saying.
That’s ridiculous, just wear what you feel confortable wearing and stop judging other people, that’s not “old school” it’s just snob behaviour.

Stop going when it became a bling-bling crap hole for drug dealers and "social media influencers" (whatever the hell these morons are).
