Jon: beautiful job! I appreciate you encouraging others to save an otherwise rough car. Several people told me to scrap my 64 GTO or use it as a donor car.. I refused and now am doing a restoration that is coming together. The Cameo Ivory looks great!
You and me both! I only contemplated it because I hate when cars just sit in disrepair, I don’t ever want to be that guy who has the cool cars and just lets sit and tells everyone I going to restore that one day. As matter fact I know where there is a real 1969 4 spd ram air 3 trans am rotting away as we speak guy won’t sell it.
Gotta laugh, but Like your wife ! Not letting you sell the GTO. Sold my 69 T/A unexpectedly this past Feb. Two very well known Pontiac gurus that knew I had it both had a guy looking for one. So now restoring a lucerne blue 71 with white deluxe interior that I bought from one of the Pontiac guys and wife is not at all happy about it ! Guess because I'm 67 and retired i'm to old to still be playing with cars, LOL
Love the progress! I didn't paint my car but did tear it apart and reassemble it completely, all I got back was a shell. Looking forward to the GTO, have you ever done a second gen Trans Am?
Wash with soap and water then a liberal coating of armor all or wd-40 seems to help for a good while. My horn button on my bird every three years gets really tacky and this has worked for me.
Jon, is your birthday 9-22 or 9-15? edit: 9-15 from the video. I purchased my first car, a 1969 Firebird convertible, on 09-22-1978 for $550. Happy birthday.
@@VinylVillageGarage That's cool. I had known the car since '72. It was a buddy of mine's dad's car. Ran into a jam in 1983 and had to sell the '69 ragtop, the '70 RAIII 4spd Formula and the '70 Trans Am. That left me with a '79 Gran Prix. I needed 5 or 6k, and as luck would have it, the 3 good cars sold first.
Playing with cars is always a great time especially on your Birthday. Enjoy the day.
It really is!
Happy Birthday Jon! I’m so glad I found your channel. It’s inspiring this 68 yr old guy to tear into my ‘69 bird with a solid plan.
Saving a 1969 bird sounds like a great plan to me
Happy Birthday! We celebrated my Mom's 84th birthday on Sunday!
That is awesome! I have a birthday buddy
Two beauties. You are a magician. And artist. Awesome accomplishments. And you are always informative.
I really enjoy restoring these old birds and feel blessed that I can and get the opportunity to.
The coolest picture ever is those two, side by side in the driveway
Tell me about it. Wish they where both mine
Jon, absolutely beautiful. Keep up the good work! God bless
I am going to miss this car when it’s done
Looking forward to the "after paint" assembly because that is the stage I'm at with my 67 Camaro. Happy birthday!🎉
Right on! Coming soon
looks phenomenal Jon. David is gonna love this car. Making great progress.
I love this car and really going to miss this one too

Right on, I love saving the ones destined for the dumpster, typically cheap to buy and for me fun to put back together. Congrats on your 64 well done

Many thanks! It seems the project really picks up speed once the paint is done. You will probably notice the same thing with your car
God I hope so!!!😂😂😂 I have been waiting for a month on something that should have taken a few days. Not a great ‘waiter’

Brilliant it was a happy bird day 😎
Happy Birthday ! Love the show!👌
Right on! Thanks
The car looks outstanding. That paint job is way better than the original factory paint job back in 1969.
Factory paint was just that factory paint for mass production not necessarily quality. I don’t mind it being better t

It does! I love how this car looks

I don’t know if I could part ways with a 1969 trans am. Plus never to old to play cars
👏👏👏
Thanks buddy
Love the progress! I didn't paint my car but did tear it apart and reassemble it completely, all I got back was a shell. Looking forward to the GTO, have you ever done a second gen Trans Am?
I had a 1971 formula and 79 formula that I did partial restorations on. Wish I kept the 71. My wife really likes second gen birds
Looks amazing! When interior plastic trim and steering wheels become sticky what is the cure? Thanks
Wash with soap and water then a liberal coating of armor all or wd-40 seems to help for a good while. My horn button on my bird every three years gets really tacky and this has worked for me.
Stop making it look so easy..lol. Next up for me is my 69 Judge. I’d love to do a 69 T/A clone.
I am looking forward
To building my judge.

9-15-78 was my birthday so I was 7 days old when you got that bird
