Thank you for the straight forward in formation. You confirm what I've been researching as well. Keep us posted on your visa journey. Would love to learn how you got the FBI background check apostille. Good Luck to you and your BF.
Thank you so much for this honest and genuine guidance. This video is super clear especially on the tax rate 15% or 24% (I have seen so many videos in which they didn't differentiate the class (employee/business)). I am actually wanted to apply soon. How can I contact you for further information?
Thanks Christina for sharing this - not sure if I need Digital Nomad or Self-Employed visa - planning to move next year so will watch your progress with interest - wishing you all the best
Thanks for your insights! How do you prove that the company you are working for as a freelancer has more than a year running? Is a letter stating the established date of the company and that you are a freelancer working online enough? -besides the WFH agreement. What does your lawyer say about that? Thanks!
One thing to clarify - the Spanish digital nomad visa doesn’t allow free, unlimited travel throughout the rest of the EU or Schengen countries. It grants residency in Spain therefore the holder can stay there for duration of the visa but the holder is is still subject to the 90/180 days rule outside Spain in the rest of Europe.
Where have you heard that? I love hearing more information! I was recently told you can freely travel Europe but can’t spend more than 6 months outside of Spain
@@christinadavisnomad I knew it from researching other Spanish visas and I asked two Spanish law firms the specific question in relation to the digital nomad visa. In both cases, the answer was the same. It’s true you can’t spend more than six months outside Spain because that’s a condition of the visa in order for the holder to be classed as a tax resident. Pretty much every visa I’ve researched says you have to spend a minimum of 183 days a year in the country for which the visa is valid.
@@imsunny0921 Yes, what is stated above is correct. You cannot spend more than 6 months outside of spain in a calendar year. You will not find a long term visa anywhere in europe that doesnt require you to be in that country for some period of time as thats apart of the residency
Hi Christina, is your visa now granted? If so, I wondered how long the application took? I am from the UK looking to apply. The UK consulates have told me that they do not yet support this Visa, and that I have to submit in Spain - although the application is purely online. It’s all quite confusing so be great to hear how it all went for you.
So glad RUclips recommended this! Just moved to Malaga from the UK patiently waiting for my 3rd month at a new role and happy I can start getting stuff ready! Did you guy have to get his paper worked apóstoles physically or online? Also did it need to be translated to Spanish first? Thanks!
Hi, your video is vary informative. I just wanted to ask that I'm a freelancer and running my company in part-time can make enough to apply for that visa let me know what kind of contracts i have to make would it be on my company latter head and duly signed and stamped amd where do i get the 3 years working experience certificate from because I'm a self employed person. Looking forward to have your reply on this appreciate you
Thank for the video Christina, a quick question please, I met all the requirements but the contractor I’m working remotely for isn’t in the countries list of social security, they are located in Dubai. So there is no way to get the SS certificate. What can I do in this case please?
If you’re a contractor and not a full time employee then it won’t matter becaus you will register in Spain and pay taxes here so you don’t need the social security agreement. You would just need a certificate showing their business has been up and running in Dubai for over 1 year
@@christinadavisnomad Thanks a lot, actually I’m an employee working for an employer located in Dubai with full time remote contract. Still no need for SS certificate?
Hi Christina, I'm a freelancer and I've had this guidance from a lawyer here in spain today: I am a freelancer (autonomo) and the advice I have been given on tax is that an autonomo has to pay social security in spain and also an autonomo does not benefit from the tax regime of this Digital Nomad Visa. I was told by the lawyer that autonomos have to also declare their world assets, pay wealth tax and submit a modelo 720. I'm finding it hard to get any confirmation on this position
hi! yes you do have to register autonomo in spain and you will pay SS in spain. Also, as of now they are not expected any tax incentive for self-employed people on this visa. The final information should be coming out in the coming weeks so will see if it changes! also, from what im told one real benefit of this visa is you dont have to claim foreign assets in spain or fill out the 720 form. I'd highly suggest my lawyer if you are looking for solid advice! sent me a message on IG or an email and I can share his contact!

If he's qualified, your British boyfriend can try to apply for Irish citizenship so he can move around EU freely. Once you're married, you can become his dependent.
Is the social security certificate coverage required? I meet all other requirements but I don't want to go through the hassle of asking my employer for that
