    My hair almost shriveled up and fell out of my head when rice water was trending. Every channel was claiming it would work miracles and grow your hair out. No one ever said it was a VERY potent protein treatment. That was almost 2 years ago though and my hair is lovely and healthy and well past my shoulders now. Now, I make it a point to do my research before trying anything new and your channel has been a huge help. I honestly thank the Lord Jesus Christ for all the information you share. God bless you XD

    Thank you sooooo much for this video! I think a lot of us may have protein overload. I recently stopped using shampoo, conditioner and leave-ins with protein because my hair was breaking from protein overload. I had to get rid of almost every hair product in my cabinet because EVERYTHING contains protein nowadays. I don’t know why they add keratin, wheat protein, collagen, etc. to every hair product. I recently found your channel. I realized that all the products I was using were weighing my strands down and causing a lot of breakage. I watched almost ten vids so far. I ordered THE REAL PROTEIN TREATMENT from you and I’m getting back to basics and keeping records of when and what I put in my hair. You must be a scientist, because you are very methodical. I was also going to purchase a leave in from another company, but when I watched your video on how to make my own leave in, I cancelled the order. I had all but one of the ingredients for the LI in my kitchen cabinet. So I went out and purchased the coconut oil. Though my hair is super coily, it is very finicky. I make my own Ayurvedic oils, my hair likes that.
    I also made a batch of your flaxseed gel. Wow it is super thick. I always felt the recipes I tried before used too much heat, so it came out semi gelatinous. I am looking for another way to extract more gel than I did this time. I don’t love the bottle method either. But I’ll find something soon. Thanks for straight to the point well researched info.

    • @thefinelife2247
      @thefinelife2247 5 лет назад +1

      Removal of sebum from the scalp also causes itchy scalp after washing. Sebum maintains the scalp's pH, lubricates it and protects it from infection. Removing your scalp's sebum leaves the scalp bare and exposed to the environment and its air pollution, making it itch. It's the same as when washing your hands with liquid detergent (hand wash). It strips the hands of sebum, making them dry and itchy. The best thing to do is use gentler shampoos that don't strip the scalp of sebum, or omit commercial shampoos altogether and use natural cleansers that maintain scalp pH and don't completely strip the scalp e.g soapnuts, clays, herbal rinses rich in saponins etc. If you use synthetic products, you are likely going to have to use synthetic cleansers to remove the buildup (with the exception of clay being a very powerful natural cleanser), so it may be unavoidable that you get an itchy scalp from it. But if you switch to more natural products and maintain your scalp sebum, the itchiness may no longer be a problem.

      Sounds like you need both in different parts of your head. I would use light oils when moisturizing, and cleaning your hair and scalp with aloe vera gel (you can find leaves at a local grocery store like giants or weis for $1 each) and/or doing ACV rinses for your scalp. Do this sparsely tho, over the course of 3 months to see results without overloading your hair

    Hey Green Beauty can you clarify something you said pretty please with lots of cherries on top? You stated your protein treatment should be used as a stand alone but the directions say mix in a conditioner. Is it okay to dilute the protein treatment in water and then apply to hair as the treatment for so many minutes as you recommend?

    • @GreenBeauty
      @GreenBeauty  5 лет назад +7

      royally_amused Hey 👋🏾 “stand alone” as in a stand alone project you can measure and mix with a condition yourself. You can try diluting the REAL Protein Treatment in water and using it like that but, it’s really concentrated you use a little bit at a time. Start with 2 tablespoons per 8 oz of water

    Thank you for making this video! Although, I'm still kind of stuck and confused. I don't know if I have protein overload, moisture overload, need moisture, or need protein. I did the big chop on April 21 so now I have a twa. I don't know what my twa needs though. I was wondering if anyone could help me figure it out. The products that I usually use in my hair are Shea Moisture's Jamaican Black Castor Oil Shampoo and conditioner along with the Mielle Organics Avocado daily moisturizer hair milk but I currently (very recently) am switching to Shea Moisture Low-Porosity Protein-Free Shampoo along with the Shea Moisture Curl and Shine conditioner and the Mielle Organics Protein-Free Mongongo oil conditioner which I use as a deep conditioner (I still use the Mielle Organic Avocado hair milk as a daily moisturizer). I switched products and most of them are protein-free because I was afraid that the reason why my hair is the way it is was because of protein and that I needed moisture, but now I'm really confused. I wash my hair once a week and have only used the new products once so far but I haven't used the shampoo yet though (because I ordered these off of Amazon and the shampoo didn't arrive yet so I replaced it with the Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Shampoo as a substitute haha). My twa has kind of been crunchy when dry, soft when wet, it has this strange almost (I think) frizz but it's like some hair sticking up straight. It stays like that when my hair is wet and dry. My twa is gets dry and kind of crunchy hours after moisturizing it with Mielle Organic Avocado hair milk that I use everyday. I also want to mention that I sleep with a satin head wrap at night. Does anyone know what I need and what is wrong with my hair? Here's a list of the products I use and my symptoms:
    PRODUCTS I USE IN MY HAIR
    -Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Shampoo
    -Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Conditioner
    -Mielle Organics Avocado Hair Milk
    NEW HAIR PRODUCTS I RECENTLY BOUGHT
    -Shea Moisture Low Porosity Protein-Free Shampoo
    -Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Curl and Shine Conditioner
    -Mielle Organics Protein-Free Hydrating Mongongo Oil Condtioner
    -Mielle Organics Avocado Hair Milk
    (I've only used these new products once so far though)
    SYMPTOMS
    -Hair feels kind of crunchy when dry, even hours after moisturizing with Mielle Organics Avocado Hair Milk
    - Is soft when wet though
    -Has that strange type of frizz like thing/ some hair always sticking up straight when wet and dry
    -I'm not sure if I should include this one but my twa curls aren't very defined either
    Thank you so much for reading this whole thing! If anyone has any advice, tips, or ideas please let me know. Have an amazing day! :)

    Firstly let me say that I love your channel, it is my go to for the best hair care advise. In your video you mentioned product overload and it got me wondering.
    Let me briefly explain my dilemma: I currently reside on a tropical island which has very high temperatures, winter has a temperature of about 25 degrees max. Since I have been here my hair has become very unresponsive and my first thought was to protect the hair with products, but later I cut them down and used more natural stuff as per your videos. What did catch my attention was after all attempts to resolve my dry hair issue was to resort to a relaxer and what was astonishing is that my hair was unresponsive to it. I did try after a couple of months later after shaving it off and treating it naturally but yet again the same results. I have a nappy type texture (mini curls) and trying to style it is always a problem for me. If my hair is not responding to relaxer perhaps its not responding to natural products either. The only thing that gives me that few minutes of relieve is plain old water, but then my hair just dries up all over again. I cut out oils because my scalp burns when I am in the sun, and thin liquid products like Cantu leave in's and creams don't seem to do much either except reduce the dryness by a percent or 2. I even add oregano to my foods as you mentioned it is very good for skin and hair health but the improvements are minor. My diet is more health based and yes I love my daily water, cannot live without it but this hair. I would cut it all off but it does not do my overall facial appeal any justice. I have tried Keratin treatment which works wonders but then my hair grows so much faster and Keratin treatments are not cheap and leaves my hair pin straight. I need your help because I trust your judgements.

      If you research the uses and benefits of protein for the hair; you would ascertain that leaving it on your hair can lead to breakage over time due to the molecular structure of one's keratin bonds and how protein bonds interact with the hair strands.
      So essentially use the Real protein treatment as directed by Green Beauty after all she already did the foundational research on her product.
      Good luck with you hair journey

    Do you have infor on 3C hair.

    • @Honeyfaced1
      @Honeyfaced1 5 лет назад +2

      Rose Rodriguez she has info for all Black natural hair. She has a video series on hair type, curl pattern, porosity, etc. I have 3C (mixed with 4A) hair and I’ve learned so much from her. Curl pattern really isn’t that important. Porosity, strand thickness and hair density are more important. With all due respect, please don’t get caught up in that curl pattern nonsense. It really won’t teach you much about your hair.

    • @roserodriguez582
      @roserodriguez582 5 лет назад

      I understand what your saying curl pattern don’t matter. And I should have been more clear. She has way thicker hair than mind. Which I wish I had but mine is 3C and extremely thin. My hair is going through something. It was not that way all my life but was unclear where to start. Because I spoke to someone else who said henna is to strong to start with my hair in this weak state.

    • @Honeyfaced1
      @Honeyfaced1 5 лет назад +1

      Rose Rodriguez I understand sis. Just know that the info she provides isn’t just for those with hair just like hers. If you have issues with thin hair and are interested in henna, I recommend checking out Curly Proverbz channel and her videos on henna and other Ayurvedic herbs. Green Beauty also has videos on them. Henna and other Ayurvedic herbs could be what your hair needs. I do a henna/Ayurvedic hair mask once or twice a month ( I also use the Green Beauty Real Protein Treatment) and it has done wonders for my hair. My hair is naturally thick, but high porosity, so the henna coats the strands and fills in the gaps in the cuticle and makes the hair stronger. I hope this info helps.

    • @roserodriguez582

      Honeyfaced1 I bought all green beauty products. I can wait to use her protein product. I am aware she helps all hair type. But I pined point my hair type but did not emphasis it was thin dry brittle. I do follow curly proverbz. And bought from one of her places she support. Henna sooq. I should have been clear on my question. Where to start from extremely damaged hair. Hair type does not matter. I just need to find a hair regimen to help my hair.

    • @Honeyfaced1
      @Honeyfaced1 5 лет назад

      Rose Rodriguez I hope you find a regimen that works for you. You might also want to look eating a healthy, nutrient-rich diet (if you aren’t already) and perhaps getting your thyroid and health checked out. Also, Olaplex 3 is something that might work for you. Good luck on your hair journey. 😊
