- When an NHL player does something they're not supposed to, they are typically punished for their actions. That said, there have been numerous players who have been detained by police for their actions away from the rink, some of whom are still active in the league today!
So in today's video, join me as we explore 10 NHL players who were arrested by police!

Most people with no prior charges don't end up in prison if it's a none violent crime

that's a trope that's simply not true. Even here in this video the athletes weren't above the law, so you're arguing against your own point. Now if you would have said "politicians" are above the law, then that would be more true. FFS, look at Donald Trump. Many/multiple crimes, and he's still not in jail

Casey Cizikas of the Islanders was found guilty of manslaughter in 2009. It would be interesting to include if there’s a part 2.

@@dwaynethewokjohnson7773 He tackled someone in a rugby match, and it ended up killing the other person due to a head injury. The family forgave Cizikas and even asked to spare him because it was accidental, but the court still found him guilty.

This was a tragic freak accident and charges should never have been laid. The peel regional police are corrupt and only care about filling their quota.

In saskatchewan the until you no longer have novice level (1 year after passing the test) the limit is 0. If you have any you can lose your liscence. Then after your novice period is done its the federal limit

There's also the allegations of Kane assaulting a coed at the University of Wisconsin.
And he was one of the players that found out a young player was sexualy abused and bullied and spread the news to other players no way he didn't know what happened to beach

Kane is an utter douchebag. I don't know how the narrator thinks he learned any "lesson" from being able to skate (sorry) away from his vicious assault in Buffalo.
You could have mentioned former Blues player Mike Danton’s arrest in that bizarre murder-for-hire plot back in 2004.
That story requires an entire video.
And could include Wes McCauley the crooked ref, and brother in law of David Frost, the abusive agent and coach that Mike Danton attempted to have killed.

If it's a none violent or drug charge and you have no prior record most people do not see jail time trust me I work in a court
Ed Belfour got arrested a few times, one of which was just a few years ago.
I’ll never forget once he got arrested and when he got out he had a FUBU jersey on and looked like he had a wild night to say the least
But he offered the greatest bribe in history to arresting officers.
He drove away from a traffic stop while they were checking on his Manitoba licence (in the States)

Also, normally I'm very hard on drunk-driving charges, but that is so close, I can forgive that. Especially since our warn in Canada is 0.05. He was probably even safe to drive.
Having talent in hockey doesn’t excuse any crimes. There’s a double standards with celebrities that shouldn’t exist.
NHL players getting special treatment by the law, just as they have throughout their lives. The massive Hockey Canada scandal makes a lot of sense when you remember that these people have never had to suffer for the bad things they have done.
What about Craig MacTavish or Dany Heatley? MacTavish missed a whole season for a DUI/vehicular homicide. Heatley was similar, but most everyone knows that story.

Ex-Leaf ( from the 1970's ) Brian Spencer was arrested for murder in 1987, but was eventually found not guilty after a lengthy trial.

Giroux is originally from Hearst, in the northeast of Ontario🇨🇦, but with the Sens 1 of the closest teams to his hometown if not THE closest.
He also played junior level hockey in the ottawa area
After his birth, Giroux and his family moved to the Ottawa area, where he grew up
It said it was over the limit OF 0.8 not by that amount.
