Reg would be the one who would play the majority of his career in the minors, while Max would be the most successful of the three, winning the Hart Trophy once and the scoring championship twice, while going on to win three Stanley Cups with the Maple Leafs.
@Brian Ullrich Marc Staal did not play in that game actually. He was still out with the eye injury. He suffered that injury on 3/5/13 against the Flyers at the Garden and it was more or less a season ending injury. I say more or less because he did come back for game 3 against the Capitals on 5/6/13, but he played so bad in that game that it was evident that he was rushed back, so he sat out the remainder of the playoffs.

As a parent of brother players it would be so tough to know how much work the boys have put into the sport to get as close to having it really pay off as he did only to wash out. Successful? Sure by normal player standards, but I doubt he thinks so.
The problem with Jared's career is he plays a role that every team NEEDS to be a successful, and there's a lot more competition for those roles than the ones the other three brothers were able to carve out for themselves. Though I guess one could argue Jared was in the same position but was better able to sell Pittsburgh on his skills. Could you imagine all 4 on the same team when they were all active in their prime? Three lines of grinding your ass purple.
He wasnt a complete bust but when hes made less then 1% of any of his brothers to that standard he kinda was. not being 1st round or 2nd overall like both of his brothers who played forwards were. Like the biggest problem when looking at him is its completely natural for people to compare him to his brothers and he just doesnt compare on the ice.
I always wondered what would happen to the name plate if Jared and Jordan played on the same team. Would they have to use they’re middle initial as well?
*Nah, they would both just say STAAL. That's what the BENN bros did when they both played in Dallas. That's what Rick Nash and Riley Nash did in Boston (they're not related). 9:14 it wasn't the metro yet, that was the season before the divisional realignment. I actually watched these three bros play in Carolina when I was younger. Dang....... now I've got an intimate relationship with an ODR video.
I imagine playing in Scotland has to be enjoyable. I suppose the pay isn’t much but it must be fun. I’d definitely do it. Probably the top that I could’ve ever made it to.
I feel bad for him, his three Brothers had successful careers while just couldn’t adopt to the big leagues
So 3 out of the 4 brothers would at some point play for the hurricanes. That's a fun bit of trivia
I'm convinced that you're ibxtoycat just for the nhl
On Jared’s debut NHL game he practically played with/against all of his siblings
Why not mention that his NHL debut against the Rangers would have been against the the 4th Staal brother Marc but unfortunately he was injured?
Jared staal watching this 👁👄👁
The Gretzky brothers have outscored the Staals by like 1100 points.
With 3 multi-millionaire brothers, he should be ok financially. Granted his brothers are generous
I like jared Staal he was good at eliminating penalties And that helps any team have success
If you haven't already you definitely have to do the Griffin Reinhart story now.
*Who's that?*
@@AzNightmare Exactly lol
@@AscendedXSaiyan *Well what about Max Reinhart?*
@@AzNightmare Could even do him too.
I feel like 3 shots on goal, 12 hits and 2 takeaways (without and giveaways) is really not that bad for 2 NHL games...
I would have been okay with giving him another shot tbh.
As a parent of brother players it would be so tough to know how much work the boys have put into the sport to get as close to having it really pay off as he did only to wash out. Successful? Sure by normal player standards, but I doubt he thinks so.
What about Jesse Staal? The one no one knows or ever talks about.
The way he said "Okanagan" at 14:21 made me cringe so hard.
yeah he's BRIT-ish that's why.
Being from the same hometown as the staals we never hear or really ever heard about jared
Who do you hear about the most? Saying that 3 of them are still in the nhl
Gotta be rough for him. The youngest brother, all his brothers are successful NHLers and he's a total scrub.
Blessed parents
ah yes, the best Staal brother :P
He wasnt a complete bust but when hes made less then 1% of any of his brothers to that standard he kinda was. not being 1st round or 2nd overall like both of his brothers who played forwards were. Like the biggest problem when looking at him is its completely natural for people to compare him to his brothers and he just doesnt compare on the ice.
Remember folks. Pavel Datsyuk wasn't drafted till the 6th round.
I wish it was me...never even got considered for the Draft
I remember when they called him up and I said to myself damn they’re desperate to sell tickets
i like hockey legend Kim Staal
So funny people are just finding out about him, he used to play in the ECHL in my city.
Well obviously you know him because he used to play in the ECHL in your city 🤦♂️
Players like him usually make great coaches.
What if he was blond instead of ginger?
*Do a video on Jonathan Toews' brother..*
*Who???*
*Exactly.*
Welcome to Buffalo Eric!
Didn’t know there was a Jared
12 hits in 2 games isn’t terrible. There has been guys with far more promise that have done much less.
For whatever reason, only Vancouver went with H.SEDIN and D.SEDIN. They all have jersey numbers anyway, so the initial isn't really important.*
AzNightmare
That’s a really good point
Come on you didn’t mention the Sutter’s as brothers to play in the NHL 6 of 7 brothers in the 70’s and now 3 of there sons lol just thought maybe they deserve a mention
Look up Shawn pronger. Chris's brother
9:14 it wasn't the metro yet, that was the season before the divisional realignment. Pittsburgh was on fire, the game meant nothing as Pittsburgh had all but ran away with the Eastern Conference, and the Hurricanes were well out of the playoff picture and weren't even in the same division as the Pens. Canes were in the Southeast Division, with Washington, Florida, Tampa and Winnipeg (they hadn't fixed it yet after the Atlanta move, which is what warranted the realignment). But it was hardly a meaningful game and it's not like Pittsburgh and Carolina were brutal division rivals.
They grew up playing together they left the next before Jared got the same chance to learn . That’s all that happend
Must be the milk mans son
