Best Tonka restoration I've ever seen on RUclips. EVER. Hands down.
Thanks! Thanks for watching!
It's awesome that you restore these old toys, they're highly collectable and a great link to the past of how we played, and I didn't fast forward, I'd rather learn something than ignore history, great info and a great job on the project, keep saving them and I'll keep watching
Tonka toys were made to be played with and that's what we did. Then to see you restore this motor grader shows how well made they began. And brought back some warm memories of playing with them with my older brother. Yeah, he played in the dirt with his little sister.
You give every restoration such detailed attention. The pride you put into every job is abmirable and encouraging.
It makes me so happy when he paints the tire letters white
Same!!
I for one enjoyed the first 5:33. Learning about these trucks and the subtle differences between them during the years is very interesting. I grew up with the early 70’s Tonkas and the restoration you gave this grader is amazing. Thank you for sharing!
The initial condition of the toy not only does huge credit to your skills, but to the manufacturer for making such a good quality item in the first place! I say 🥇🥇to both parties 🚜
It's amazing that some of these toys from back in the 1960s
70s were all brought back to these original appearance .
Excellent! You saved it for generations to come.
Makes me feel old when people restore toys from my childhood. I was 12 in 1976. My little brother was born in 1976 and he had all kind of toy cars, but Tonka was not in Europe in these days.
Now I'm about 100 lol
What an mamazing job you do on these 🙏👍❤️
Thanks! I was born in 1977 so I know the feeling.
It is a wonderful sight to behold, the way you bring these classic toys back to life. Thanks for sharing the process.
I am inspired for my new hobby for my recent retirement. Thanks.
That was an amazing restoration. Who would have thought that this toy could be given a new lease of life like that? I thought the explanation at the beginning added a lot of useful information - and I wouldn't be adverse to a small amount of voice over during the restoration either 😊👍
Thanks! Thanks for watching!
I love sandblasting!
I am going to buy one and "blast" all my tools, my outside furniture, my wife and anything else that is getting rusty...
My son was given one of these graders; he pushed it, sat on it, stood on it for years.... I wish I had kept it.
Thanks! Thanks for watching!
Hahahahahahahaha GOLD!
Safest way to "blast" is eat taco bell and aim
Allan Manley 😂
Me too Allan Manley, i love sandblasting
Incredible restoration
i LIKE YOUR COMMENTARY AT THE BEGINNING , FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME ITS VERY INFORMATIVE
Well played with toys. Glad you are restoring them for future generations to see.
Now I remember why I love Tonka trucks. They’re just so flippin cool!!! You did an outstanding job on this one! It probably didn’t look this good when it was brand new!
Thanks! Thanks for watching!
Wow. Someone finally talks & shows their face on these Videos. Simply Amazing.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL WORK
That orange tonka grader was beautiful, good job
I should have known...but had no idea that anyone had such knowledge of Tonka trucks!!!! Definitely awesome!!
You are so kind
TRG, I am glad that you are doing this. People from the younger generation don't know stuff like this existed. I remember these when I was a kid. Dishwashers are amzazing machines. They do come in handy when it comes to restoring stuff like this.
Nice. Came out better than expected. Always a nice treat.
Thanks! Thanks for watching!
That was an excellent job and an excellent video. I really enjoyed the beginning where you gave us your knowledge and understanding of the toy.
I am blown away. Looks factory new!
Impressive can't seem to get enough of your videos .
The painting of the letters and number was awesome!! I have never seen it done that way before......simple, yet brilliant! Good job!!
Thanks! Thanks for watching!
A beautiful restoration? No! I call this a marvelous metamorphosis! After all, from completely rusted to a beautiful painted model is a major metamorphosis. Even now you have shown that you are a skilled crafsman.
I enjoyed listening to your explanation of the prep which comes first.
This is absolutely my new favourite restoration of yours to date.
Thanks! Thanks for watching!

Nice work Tim! Looks great!
Thanks! Thanks for watching!
It's ok to talk when you actually have something to say. I enjoyed the talk.
I had wondered what the thought process was behind the actual restoration. Thanks for going through that. It was very enlightening. It’s great seeing something go from trash to brand new. Sandblasting is so satisfying to watch. Thanks for sharing.
It looks brand new. Nicely done, sir.
Thanks! Thanks for watching!
Where on earth do you find all these old and rusted toys. You restore them beautifully 👏👏
Ebay usually, some from Etsy and antique stores, and occasionally form Facebook marketplace.
Nice work. Enjoyed knowing about the history of the piece👍👍👍
Thanks! Thanks for watching!
The sound effect at 9:44 was perfectly hilarious 😆
Brilhant work.Its perfect!!
I liked hearing you explain the details. This was an excellent restoration. Beautiful job!
Wow! those tyres looking so cute with white lettering
If it had been in Toy Story, I would have loved to hear it talk after your restoration! "Hey, Woody look at my shiny tyres..."
Thanks for taking a minute to talk about the history of this, not many resto guys do that.....I liked it.
LOVE your work sir, I just SUBSCRIBED last video I watched, the Tonka compacter/roller. Anyway, great craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Beautiful work, I'm hooked.
Can't wait to see what's up next brother 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸👍
EDIT: It would be so cool if you took a minute every video and talk about the project and give a little history of it.
Thanks again for your great channel and work.
Beautiful job. One of my favorites.
Perfect job!!! Really amazing!!!
Very beautiful job well done 👍
Thanks for watching!
Awesome restoration, man!!
A lot of working but it worths it...!!
Congratulations and all my admiration from Sevilla (Spain).
👏😄BIEEEEEEN...!!!!!!
oh man, wow! I got one of these for my birthday from my aunt when I was a kid!! LOVED playing in the dirt with my Tonkas and Matchbox & How Wheels cars. Most summer days I'd have some friends over, we'd get all the cars out and take turns picking which ones we wanted, then we'd cut all these roads with little driveways to represent houses, park the cars at each "house", then drive back and forth visiting each other. The simplest things gave some much pleasure back then.
My favorite restoration so far.
Fabulous work!
Thanks! Thanks for watching!
After picking my jaw up off the floor. This was an awesome reto. Hats off.
Thank you! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Always watch with my two kids.
My youngest ( daughter is ten) loves sand blasting...no idea why but she really likes it, my son (12) loves you see how they work,me it's painting.
Loved painting,still do.
Gotten to the stage where we have our time together to sit and watch your work, and it's absolutely excellent.
I found to the history bit really of interest, even the kids did too.
Keep up the fantastic work!
From Darrel, Richie and Jenny
Great Job Restoring!!
excellent job - a true artist at restoration
You’ve outdone yourself mate. That looks better than it did when new. Brilliant work since the sandblasting cabinet and powder coating. You’ve notched your restorations up to the next level.🇦🇺👍
Thanks for watching!
SUPER job!
Thanks! Thanks for watching!
Nice work outstanding 👍🏻👍🏻
Phenomenal restoration! Just remarkable!
I love the little lecture you gave too. I love knowing a bit about the pieces you work on.
You did a really nice job to that.
Unbelievable! Another awesome restore
That is nasty rusty! Wow, beautiful restoration! Construction Barbie is gonna love it! Great job! It is so satisfying to see these toys restored. Thank you!
Thank you 🤗
Wow that's impressive it's like a brand new toy nice work !!
Thanks!!
I still have mine. I got it for Christmas in 1969.
Scott Horton WoW 😮
Nice!
Un espectáculo ver la transformación de un juguete en tus manos !!!!
You do some fine research and restoration work. Watching your films has me wanting to build scale model cars again; something I haven’t done in almost 20 years. I do not remember seeing this grader back then, of course I was only 8 years old and I have slept since then. If you work for a City, County, or State agency stay safe. If not, thanks for your support.
Very nice Tim looks amazing
Thanks! Thanks for watching!
Okay, the technique for painting the white walls - BRILLIANT!!!! When i saw you do that I gasped! "OH! . . . . you flippin CHEATER!! LOL
lmao! Thanks!
Fascinating!! That is quite a remarkable but of detective work!!
Kudos!!
Nice restoration, as well.
Tonka really put out a quality product back then, nowadays everything is plastic. Excellent restoration, and thanks for the laughs! I liked, subscribed and shared.
Beautiful job ❤️👍🏻
That is amazing work.
Thanks for the info at the intro. It made watching your restoration more interesting. Awesome job by the way! Thanks! 👍👍
Thanks 👍
Dang Leo's gotta talk forever and be thorough. Yack yack yack. Bwahahahaa
I bought this exact toy from the thrift store for eight dollars for my son. Thank you for the information, when I get it in front of me I’m going to see what year it is. I like you discussing the info on the toys. Appreciate it
Outstanding
Thanks! Thanks for watching!
"Even more sanding..." Talk about Tonka Tuff! I just love it ! My Barbies loved those Tonka trucks back in the 70's. Racing downhill !
As a nuts and bolts guy, the info was much appreciated!
My thoughts exactly. My nephews have a old tonka grade I would love to restore for them and his explanation has been very helpful
Thanks! Thanks for watching!
That’s so smart with the painting the paper trick! I’m going to start do that
Thanks!
Great job love the paint trick for the white letters 👍
Thanks! Thanks for watching!
WOW! UNBELIEVABLE! But the only thing I really tuned in for, was the replacement windshield. And you gave no commentary as to where you sourced it. Can you reveal this?
These old Tonka toys bring me back. Back before toys were idiot proofed. Turned out real nice. I had the front loader and dump truck.
Since i'm Brazilian and in top of that, born in the early 90's i wish i had toys like these to play with. Good thing now i'm getting successful enough to live somewhere else and now we have internet to buy those things. Awesome work.
That is awesome, I'm jealous. Wish I still had one.
Looks great well done.
Wow really nice job 😳
Thanks! Thanks for watching!
My son, born in 1970, would have loved that Tonka. I'm sure it was way out of my price range!
Beautiful job 👍
Awesome video---just found your channel. I had most of the Tonka fire/rescue and construction vehicles. Sadly, I only have about 3-4 left but all in good condition. I'm starting to hunt down my old toys and your restorations give me hope. Thanks!
Unbelievable transformation!
You are a very talented restorer and your work is amazing ... Please keep it up.
I'll try my best lol thanks for watching!
