- Hundreds of protesters stormed a police barricade trying to reach the world-famous Met Gala. At the Met, the chanting of the protesters coming closer could be heard on the red carpet. However, authorities were determined that the gala would go ahead as planned. Cops made 30 arrests. After protesters turned back from the Met, they continued their march through Manhattan. Inside Edition’s Steven Fabian has more.
75,000 dollars for a ticket is like .50 cents to a dollar for celebrities
But that is really just a fee since you technically have to be invited to be able to attend.

Maybe BECAUSE if their trying to send their message across the world you wouldn't go to some marine base to gain media and public attention and have your voice heard, rather you would go to a popular event such as the met gala where hundreds of millions of people around the world tune in to watch which suggests their is massive media presence and so they would have a better opportunity of getting their message heard domestically and internationally.
