    I just looked up on google and AI says that there were 16 bolt fires and 3 injuries as of March 2023. Folks need to put that into perspective, driving in general is way more dangerous.

    So those that got their battery replaced, didn't get the software update ??? Sounds like a fishy deal to say the least, given the software update could be considerd a standard requirement to help mitigate battery fire risks even for replaced batteries as standard equipment and improve safety overall.

  • @yo2trader539
    @yo2trader539 25 дней назад

    Tesla initially used only high-grade Japanese batteries made by Panasonic, which is why their batteries were more stable and had higher endurance. But for recent EV models many companies started using multiple suppliers from China and South Korea to cut costs. Some batches are good, some mediocre, and some are really unreliable. It would be nice if we can choose our own preferred battery company as an option.

    I keep hearing on this channel that EV batteries are safe and there’s no fire risk. So what’s all this about then…!!

    • @jamesmcneal1821
      @jamesmcneal1821 25 дней назад +2

      It depends on the battery chemistry and the battery manufacturer. If the battery wasn’t made by LG then yes, safer than ice vehicles. If it’s an LFP battery made by any manufacturer then yes, it’s very safe, again safer than ice vehicles. If you want to know what vehicles are higher risk than pure battery vehicles or ice vehicles, it’s plug-in hybrids. Be wary about them. Thankfully, plug in hybrids won’t be sold much in the future as battery electric vehicles gain more and more range as battery technology continues to improve. If you listen to this channel diligently, Sam has covered all of this. Good luck, my friend.

    Still pass on any EV. Until the chargers are on every corner and in every building, which will never happen as the governments want their money from oil companies and their taxes on EVs and taxes on road usage for EVs and taxes on top of taxes, they will restrict your usage of EVs as a way of controlling you. And until they start using EVs for their own vehicles I will stick to gas.

      @universeisundernoobligatio3283 24 дня назад +2

      You do know that every location with electricity is a charging location. So you prefer to be controlled by oil companies, good for you. Glad with my solar panels I have a self charging vehicle.

    • @kevinW826
      @kevinW826 24 дня назад

      @@universeisundernoobligatio3283 not when you don’t have access to an outlet. Companies are not willing to install charging stations, external plugs and extension cords are unsafe and first come first serve parking lots cannot be controlled in a workplace environment and especially if you work in unpaved areas where you park on gravel and dirt which turns into a mud puddle or an ice rink.
      Owning an EV you are reliant on the government. And limited range doesn’t help. A business reporter from Chicago in January documented his road trip to New York in a rented Tesla.
      He got 100 usable miles out of his 45 min to 1 hr charge when the computer told him 200 miles. When it said 300 miles, he got 150 miles.
      It took him something like 6 hours longer to get to New York. That is restricted travel. Just wait for travel tax and road tax on your EVs so the government can make its money back.
