" The mother of a British backpacker brutally murdered during what her killer claimed was 'rough sex' has revealed she never speaks the man's name. Grace Millane, 21, was strangled to death in Auckland, New Zealand, during December 2018 by Tinder date Jesse Shane Kempson, who hid her body in West Auckland's forested Waitākere Ranges, where it lay undiscovered for eight days.

I think back on all the risks I took at her age, and think how lucky I am to be alive. I was so stupid, gullible, and naive. Some of those risks were even more foolish than Grace's. I definitely had an angel watching over me! Almost enough to give me "survivors' guilt".
My friend went on a date with a guy a few years ago and said that she had the creeps the whole time. Luckily they drove separate vehicles and she was able to leave the restaurant and go home but she felt like she was being followed- thought she saw his car a few cars behind her but then lost him at some point. She made several turns driving around a random neighborhood until coming face to face with him at a 2 way stop. 😳 She called her dad and drove straight to her parent’s house. He bailed about halfway there. They reported it to the cops but of course they didn’t do anything. 2 months later she saw him on the news for having r-ped and k-lled a woman. How fucking terrifying
Back in 1991 I was 18. I went on a date with a man. He picked me up and then proceeded to drive out of the city. I was new to the area and asked where we were going. He just kept saying he wanted to surprise me. He drove me out into the country on a dirt road and just stopped the vehicle. My thoughts were he was expecting sex. He turned up the music and we just sat there awkwardly for a few minutes and then he said "it is a little scary out here at night. Someone could sneak up on us and kill us or I could just kill you and no one would know." I was freaked and the only thing I could think of was to stroke his ego and I said that I was glad I was with him because I was sure no one would hurt me with him around. What felt like an eternity went by, he smiled, said thank you and started the car and drove me back home without saying another word. I was never so happy to see my house and hopped out of that car faster than I realized I could move.
That dude was not attractive in any way, and ladies, if you do go on dates, stay in public places, never go home with them. PERIOD!!!!
Man the strength of Grace's mom, to go through losing her little girl, and then the trial and then her husband's passing from cancer to where she's like the lone survivor of all the devastation
I live in New Zealand. Our whole country was alerted when she went missing. I was actually shocked at the media attention given , our own missing people aren't even advertised . We felt so bad that she came to experience our country and instead lost her life . Jesse is truely a creep.

My 17yo daughter last night told me of her plans to travel interstate later in the year. I immediately went into all the reasons I don't want her to go. In the end she said, "OK, can we go together?"
Their is so many cruel people out there living among us. This is exactly why I worry everytime my daughter says she is going out for the night. You get so afraid they won't come home.
This happened 10 minutes from home, Grace will always be in our hearts. This case was absolutely devastating. Forever sending love and healing thoughts to her loved ones.

Their Leader Lady at least didn't ignore it and try to hide it, she come out and acknowledged it and apologized, and you can tell she really meant what she said as well. good for her and them
