Yup I would have Saks "screw yall bill my card" and left !!!
So weird tho usually the bouncers will watch the person kicked out out front or back untill the friends paid and let them leave together.
I wonder if an argument broke out between him and a fellow frat student(s)? This just isn't adding up!
I find it so strange that the bouncers wouldn’t let a friend pay their tab so someone could leave with him. That sounds so shady to me.
Couldn’t disagree more. He’s an adult. Ive been leaving clubs and pubs for decades walking home or back to my hotel alone.
@@Angel0fTruth agree wouldn’t have taken 5 mins to put him in a Uber to the dorm room , especially when he walked out with Riley .

I was in NYC with my husband and sister and friends and my sister got kicked out of a bar. I was with her but they absolutely refused to let me go in and get my husband. I was enraged and left a very long review on google. A) my sister was not overly intoxicated the bar was over crowded and she accidentally bumped into the manager who had a major ego problem and then kicked her out. But B) when they kicked her out they literally denied the request to find her party before leaving. Also refused to find the people for us. I think these establishments should be held accountable.
They are, well should be. theyre alcohol licensees. They have a duty of care.
Don't you use your cell phones to keep in touch.
For sure. I would never go to a bar to begin with. But if I ever had, you best believe you better (the bar) get my party for me. My butt would be at the door the whole time.
Good luck with that, they're bouncers for a reason and will get violent sometimes @@karentucker2161

It all about the $$$!!
As a bartender, they NEVER NEVER SHOULD HAVE SENT HIM OUT THAT DOOR. ALONE. 😢THIS IS HEARTBREAKING 💔 They should’ve dealt with this totally differently. It is the responsibility of the bar, server and bartender 😢You call a cab, something: you just don’t send him out the door in that condition. Praying for him and his family ❤
It’s a bar not daycare do you want them to change his diaper? Give him a milk bottle
How often have you called cabs? And how much have you spent?
It's not a legal obligation but it would be nice if we cared more for our fellow man.
I 100% agree with this comment. I know when I was a server at TGI Fridays a few years ago, when I was in training it was literally taught to us, that if a customer is visibly intoxicated, you offer them food even if they can't pay for it. And you let them wait in the establishment until the restaurant or bar calls them a cab or someone comes and you visually see them being picked up and making sure that they are not driving themselves anywhere. It is my understanding the reason for that is because if they were "over-served" and your establishment was the last place they were visibly seen, extremely intoxicated or inebriated. And if they were to leave your place of business and hurt someone else or themselves due to their level of intoxication. Your establishment, bar, restaurant, etc can be held liable because the staff knowingly put the person into public impaired. That's at least my understanding of how it works in Virginia where I live. I don't know what the laws or stipulations are for other states..... But I just wanted to let you know that I 100% agree with this comment!
100%
That bar needs to be sued. If they eject a patron for losing control of his faculties, they need to ensure his safety. Throwing a person out because he's defenseless then leaving him to his own impaired devices is despicable.
I was wondering if they could be held liable. If someone is drinking and driving and they don’t get cut off at the bar, I know sometimes they can be held liable in those situations so this one it would also make sense for them to be held accountable.
If I were his family, I’d be suing the hell out of that bar. No matter if they’re the one that over served him or aren’t, they are responsible for gross neglect by putting an obvious intoxicated man out on the street, knowingly alone. Since they wouldn’t let anyone leave with him. And, they didn’t stay with him until someone was able to go with him.
My husband was drugged by a bartender when we were out of town, he walked in a very similar fashion to this young man. I hope the police continue to question the staff at the bar, especially since his shirt was found on somebody else and it was the bar that kicked him out. My hunch is that someone who works in that bar knows something. My prayers are with his family
Agree 100%
I second that someone at the bar knows something
That’s what I was thinking. What if he was set up because he was a weak link or something to that effect, and he was drugged then kicked out to be picked up? Praying for the best possible outcome, and for his poor family!
Dammmn what happened after. Hopefully everything is ok now
How would pp at the bar be involved..looks like he walked quite a distance. I think he got jumped along the way..as messed up as he was, made him a target
That’s not just alcohol. Cmon guys. I hope they find this young man.
Yeah looks like some one slipped fent in his drink.
I agree
Sounds like you didn’t drink enough? Binge drinking can cause death so yeah it’s gonna make you lose coordination.
Probably one of his friends at the table probably reason for the fight
@@dementedpuppy
The bar he was at only served him one drink. That isn't binge drinking.
I've never seen anyone in my life stumble the way he did after one drink. It seems more like he was drugged.
This is almost the same exact story as College student Reny Jose in Panama City Beach a few years ago. He unfortunately did not get national news coverage. His parents are still searching, it was suspected he went swimming while under the influence, his clothes were found in the garbage, and his friends lawyered up and aren’t talking to anyone. Looks that way to me. He appears to bee quite intoxicated, the way he stumbles and weaves. He only had to lean in the bridge, perhaps a bit too far, topple and .....
Yes! Why do we glorify something that causes impairment and often times people getting hurt or worse? Especially in Young adults who are immature and think they are invincible from bad things happening? We have got to stop glorifying alcohol and partying. 😢

They were bar hopping and they pre gamed before that. When he was kicked out the bartender told authorities that he only had one drink there but was already intoxicated. His friend walked out with him when they made him leave but went back inside. That was a big mistake.

That’s what I’m saying! Not one??? It’s not like they can’t go back out after walking him back to the hotel 10mins away. Smh
They're saying the bouncer wouldn't let his friend leave cuz he hadn't paid his tab yet. That's criminal if you ask me.
Who opens a tab without a credit or debit card? Right…bars don’t do that. Its a BS excuse.
@@SilentThundersnow I feel like someone has incorrect information there. Most bars don't let you open a tab without having your credit card on file since so many people leave without closing their tabs. If you don't close it by the end of the night, they close it for you and add their own gratuity. That's how it works at every bar I've gone to...so I can't imagine a bar not letting someone leave. Also, wasn't there a single person with them that didn't have a tab open that could leave with him?

Ok - I have bartended as well as worked door security at music venues. And when someone is that intoxicated, we never just send them out on their own. I have gotten chairs for people so they can sit outside, every single time you get people water. You make sure that they have a way home. I have let people stay in for over an hour, drinking water until they had a ride home. I have literally bought an Uber for someone! It’s just baffling to know that they would let someone that intoxicated, especially someone that young leave and fend for himself. Especially when his friends are just RIGHT there. That just is not OK. Period. Alcohol is a terrible thing and if you’re going to be in the business of serving and profiting off of that terrible thing, you should be ready for the ramifications of that and caretake for the people that you are intoxicating. They are the reason that you are in business. so you have to take care of them.

Nashville is my home, born and raised. In recent years, we've had a huge influx of people from other areas and the crime that unfortunately comes along with unfettered growth. I had a friend roofied in a downtown bar a few years ago and barely made it home by the grace of God. Watching Riley walk, it looks like he could have been as well. I hope not, I pray a miracle happens and he is found alive. Prayers to his family and all who are searching for him!
Nashville is an overrated crime ridden cesspool. It wants to be a party town. Well, good luck with that
It's a shame that river is right there. I saw how low the barrier is on the bridge and being so tall it would be no protection for him if he stumbled
This is what real innocence looks like y'all his parents are heartbroken prayers for all of them .please God bring him home safe
I think the bar should be held accountable for this even happening. They should have called a cab for him or had one of the guys there in his group to do it.
I'm only 5 minutes in, and I'm already furious at the security at this bar. If they didn't want his friend to leave with him because of an open tab then they could've detained him at the front of the bar, let his friend settle the tab and then let the friend go with him. I'm sorry.. they should be held partially responsible for this. If I were his family, I'd sue their doors closed forever.
If dude had an open tab then they had the kids card and could run it regardless if the dude came back to get his card so that’s a weird reason not to let the guy leave with his friend. They don’t open a tab and not take a card
That’s such a good point I haven’t seen someone else make yet! Sketchy to say the least…
I think the bar needs to reevaluate their policy on removing an intoxicated person from their establishment. They should be accountable in their part of kicking the young man out of their bar.
My heart and prayers go out to his family + friends..unfortunately it doesn't look good.
It's gone beyond the bar needing to judge itself. Somebody needs to be prosecuted, and the bar needs to lose its liquor license. This kind of tragedy demands justice, not half-hearted self-flagellation.
Unfortunately lots of these bars in Nashville need to be reevaluated - their security/bouncers have been on the news often for telling people to leave , fighting individuals. There needs to be stricter regulations for all of these bars in Nashville.
Nashville is an overrated crime ridden cesspool
Wow. At that time of night there were quite a few people out & about. Those women walking by him. I wished they'd have asked if he need a cab.
How is this the bars fault?? Are you 21? Have you been to a bar? Especially a bar in this area? They don't have time to babysit people. I work in a bank. Should I walk you to your car when you leave?
Praying for quick answers & strength for his family. Thank you for covering this, Christina. You have such a huge & soft heart. ❤
My sister traveled 5 hours to join the search party because this case hits so close to home for us. She said that they did pull a different body out of the River the first time and it was a woman in her 30’s. The second body they found was confirmed to be Riley.
Due to the Manager and staff not allowing him to be escorted buy friends is SOOO suspicious!
He looks like he has head injury. Maybe bouncer roughed him up on the way out the door and caused the head injury. All I know for sure is many people let this kid down. 😢
That's not true..they were all free to leave.
I have never heard of that
His fraternity Brothers let him down. The people at the bar let him down. Not one person stop to see if he needed help. Cruel world we live in. Prayers for The Family 🙏🏼🙏🏼
If they cut him off at the bar because they over-served him, then they need to take actions to protect him. If he’s so inebriated that he’s not acting right, what makes them think he can get home safely? They should have a) called him a cab, or b) let a friend go out the door with him (to look after his wellbeing). This tragedy was completely avoidable imo and my heart breaks for his family and friends.
ABSOLUTELY AGREE 👍
They report that he was only served 1 alcoholic drink and 2 waters-so who knows? I agree with you, though, if it is accurate!
problem there is, well here in Australia the law only protects the patrons inside. Once theyre on the curb they dont have a duty of care. Its definately bar staff and managemnt inside that have appropriate ways of dealing with these issues as alcohol licensees
Yep
"Let" a friend go out the door? You're saying that like they held them in. And I disagree...a bar should not have to babysit all of their patrons. His frat brothers should have walked him back to the hotel. It was only around the corner. He just went the wrong direction when he walked out of the door.

I think his "friends" need to be investigated too - just to rule out any mistreatment of him. Frats & sororities are supposed to be a different breed of loyalty. Makes me wonder.....
Hazing? @@shame579
@@shame579I read the university doesn't want the authorities to talk to or question any of the frat brothers.
But how could someone @ the university make that call?
We have a missing young man that could be in danger.
🤔
As a mom of a 26 year son this has been a big fear of mine. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
Very good reporting
Prayers for him and his family 🙏 thank Christina for all the amazing videos 💜
Riley seems like a sweet kid and every interview with his family breaks my heart. I hope he is found safe but with so much time gone… I just don’t know. I was born and raised in Nashville and my baby brother is in college and is Riley’s age. I reached out to him and asked him to NEVER go anywhere alone while he’s drinking. I can’t believe no one stopped to help him. Nashville today is a different city.
No one has 200 people who could be viewed as friends or even loose acquaintances which makes me fear nobody was truly watching his back and he was perhaps vulnerable
He was with about 8 guys that night and probably 50 from his frat altogether on the trip. He was only with a few, and he had called his mom at the previous bar. He was fine. Went to this place and only had one drink which was clearly spiked!!!
I’m admiring your brick wall while watching.
I hope this family gets answers. I can’t imagine their pain.
I agree with you the bar should have put him in a cab. Prayers for Riley and his family ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏
I’m soo glad that you decided to cover this! it’s so soo sad this is why I barely go to bars anymore no one is really you’re friend! “his friends” never should let him leave the bar alone
I pray this family gets closure asap. God bless them and sweet Riley❤
There won't be closure if they do find his body or whatever. My twin brother was Murdered and there is never closure for a family, it never leaves your mind!!!
@@donaldewert2332 thank you for pointing that out. I pray they get answers. I’m sorry for your loss.
@@MichaelaH2059 Thank you. I know Alot of people say "closure" but it's impossible. My brother and the way he died will always be in my head.
He's your guardian angel now, watching over you and doing his best to help.. he knows how much you cared and how much you still care @@donaldewert2332 💓
As a mother to a son who’s almost 21, seeing Riley by himself .. stumbling that much is so hard to watch. It’s heartbreaking.
Thank you for covering this story. This is so heartbreaking. Prayers that he is found soon.
Stories of other people in that area having drinks spiked disappearing and assaulted doesn't paint a good picture. He's intelligent and I'm praying he's ok. I only had one son I was very close to whom I lost so I know his mother's pain. Prayers for her.🙏🙏🙏
I hope Riley is found soon. What a sweet face he has/had. It's horrible no one helped him. So much for friends.
and my heart hurts for this family PRAYERS to help you heal 🙏🙏🙏🙏😔😔😔so SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS ! 😞
I watch a lot of true crime and this story in particular has brought me to tears. As a mother and as someone on their sober journey who knows what these kinda nights are like. There’s just so many questions and frustrating scenarios. It breaks my heart this is the footage his family saw of him last. May Riley and his family get the justice they deserve.
I think that’s what is so gripping about this case. When you’ve had a bad relationship with alcohol and had so many times where you can look back and wonder how nothing happened and you survived, blank spaces where you have no memory but you’re still alive, and then this young man who was just a good kid had probably one of his first times taking that same risk and it’s possible he never made it out the other side, it hits home. Especially as a mother. He seems like a sweet kid, life can be very unfair.
@@TruecrimeAndcommentaryyes exactly 😢

@@TruecrimeAndcommentaryI agree it could have been me many of nights when I was in my 20's. I hope this changes things.
Since when was it illegal to follow your friend outside the bar? What do you mean, 'he wasn't allowed to go?'
Someone on here said it was because the guy had a tab and the bar wouldn't let him go outside without paying. So he had to stay inside and wait for his tab to pay and they were busy.
Wondering the same? How can they illegally detain you!???!
I have a close friend who said he has been drugged several times in downtown Nashville bars and that it happens quite often. He believes Riley was drugged without his knowledge.
so glad you covered this!
Natalie Halloway again. This speaks of the alienation our society lives. My heart goes out to his parents
Please I pray Riley is found safe! God be with his family during this difficult time. Thank you for covering this misfortune.
Also if you could find it in your heart to cover the Caleb Harris crises that would be a true blessing! Protect and bring home both these young men! ❤
Lord Jesus, hear this prayer. Amen
I live in Nashville it’s getting so bad here so sad Praying He return safely to his family😞🙏🏽
My prayers are with the family and the young man. My son went missing in Atlanta but GOD IS GOOD and we found him. I am crying out to God for you!
I live in Nashville and this is so sad, I pray they find him and bring him home
Im in Nashville as well, I hope he's found.
Please do a video on Caleb Harris the college student from Corpus Christi, TX he is also missing along with several other men that have gone missing in the area
It's weird how there is hardly any news coverage on him.
Thank you for covering this! I’m praying for a miracle
Prayers to the family during this extremely difficult time. Much love from the northern Rocky Mountains of Colorado (Grand County).
In Texas I'm pretty sure it's illegal to "over serve" someone and then toss them out, you have to make sure they leave safely. I was a server years ago. If I was his family I'd be pushing for legal action against the bar already. I'd be so devastated.
They all have bouncers that monitor this as several people have been killed on 6th street and since police defunding the police force is limited. My son got beat up by a homeless man from the streets when he was leaving a bar that had band, he had a broken jaw and other injuries and had to have surgery for his jaw. This still happens. This is Austin.
@@babsie1952 yes 6th street can be scary at times. When I was a server we had to make sure they got into a cab Uber or left with someone that wasn't f'd up, or call police. The bar is somewhat culpable here I think
But my son wasn't over served, just a homeless man wanting money and they are bad on 6th street, a man two months earlier who was doing his Bachelor party was killed on 6th street and there have been others. I am glad my son goes no where near these places anymore.@@viceb7
I hope they get shut down
People that want to drink will just go to somewhere else. They said that they had been drinking all day. If you want it changed, changed the law. He had free will and he himself chose to drink, he chose to tell his friends he wanted to go to hotel by himself. It is a sad situation and I have a son also and do not blame others for his situation. He was coming out a bar on 6th street in Austin after listening to a band (and drinking)there and was attacked by a homeless man wanting money, breaking his jaw and put in the hospital. Several people on 6th street have lost their life. After that situation, he goes no where near there.
I am a trucker and everytime I am in the giant truck stop there, which is like a city, it is the jungle with gunshots, screaming and police cars ! When I mentioned it at the bar,the bartender advised me to stay inside the truckstop because it was even more dangerous out on the streets! This young just didn't know where he was!
If only that bar would have let his friend leave with him! like wtf, that makes me mad. Hoping for a safe return for Riley
You think the bartender forbade anyone to go with Rylie? No, his "friend" walked him to the exit and went back to his company. I don't understand how anyone could let him out on the street alone in such a state. Someone had to go with him. Or call an ambulance because he doesn't look good, way too intoxicated.
His friend is definitely lying. Why would a bouncer forbid someone from leaving?
makes me super sus on the establishment. There are some bad circles out there. And they all can be bought....
@@JuditaHoffman.Exactly! They can't hold someone hostage ffs!! I wish ppl would stop saying that .
I heard the bouncer "roughed him up" - why? and how much? what level of "roughing up" is okay when someone is level headed letalone intoxicated? and is the bouncer able to determine whether or not someone's drink has been spiked or was he in on something? or perhaps there was a dare with the frat boys to be kicked out? somethings not adding up @@Deedee092388
Thank you as always showing dignity to everyone involved you are truly the best love you definitely my favorite Y Tube channel.
i go to TSU which is in Nashville and to know that me and my college peers not only from my school but multiple other colleges surrounding, stroll in downtown Nashville VERY often is scary because we dont hear of this like this happening often here until NOW….Praying for his family 🤍
