I see James Dean and Austin Butler as one. He has said that Dean was one of the actors he was drawn to; both soft spoken, both brooding and at times appearing to be off in another place, and rather melancholy. Considering enough of us are seeing the same thing I hope a studio or an independent will see it too and then acting on it.
He can definitely pull Dean off. No doubt. He has the old Hollywood look we all love, but theirs a reason no one, I don't think, tried to remake a James Dean movie. I could be wrong though

I remember Austin Butler being on Disney channel shows as a kid. Any Millennial would know who Austin Butler is based on his résumé; he’s getting critical acclaim by his hard work and determination which makes him a born star.

Thank you for sharing that … I agree. There is something in the person of Austin, his heart, his intelligence - that is not often seen in Hollywood or his profession and not in our world much either - that sets him apart, especially in our world that is full of other traits. He is an example for everyone … I hope he stays true to his heart and resists the lure of the ugly side of his profession. I have so much respect for this young man!

Yes Austin has such a sensitivity towards Priscilla Lisa Marie and the grandkids. Such a beautiful boy with so much humility and caring attributes. Just wish his Mum was here to see where her beautiful talented and gifted boy has now become a WORLDWIDE name through his talents and giftings and caring sensitive heart. .

producers know people will want to see him in other roles. So strike while the iron is hot. I noticed that the role of Feyd in DUNE PART 2 was only recently cast with Austin and yet everyone else was already chosen. That was a wise move by that director because I will now watch Dune part 2. Haha. I'm curious to see him shake off the elvis persona. Austin was great as Tex Watson in Once upon a time in Hollywood.

Agree. Because he and I are similar when it comes to the voice thing. Even though his came from puberty, mine came from an asthma thing I had when I was 3 and I'm still struggling with it today. And I'm still struggling on my weight, considering I was recently fat shamed on Twitter by a hater of mine who called me old too. I am not old. I look the exact same when I was 20.

Not only he's absolutely gorgeous, he seems truly passionate about his work which is really rare but then again, his passion came thorough is one of the most brilliant performances to date. I cannot wait to see what more he has to offer. He's going places!
Like what everyone has been saying, Austin Butler truly is the most remarkable person on the Hollywood scene right now. Not only does he have the James Dean look to him, he has a natural talent for acting, and an overall charm and allure to him. He’s 50s cool, and I like the dude.

Absolutely completely agree with you. He would be perfect as James Dean. A few years ago I thought maybe Timothee Chalamet would be a great Dean but I think Butler is even more closer in raw talent and charisma. He seems to naturally have an old school hollywood style and acting range very similar to James Dean or a young Brando or young Deniro or. even more contemporary actors like Brad Pitt or Leonardo DiCaprio when they were young. I don't know, Austin Butler just naturally exudes Dean like charisma. Even some pictures of him at Cannes Film Festival were very reminiscent of Dean in the 1950s. I hope Hollywood gets on board and cast him quick in a James Dean biopic or a proper remake of James Deans 3 films. very soon

Just saw the movie, epic! Saw a documentary where his bodyguard said Elvis could sit next to anyone and be their friend in minutes. Austin Butler gives that vibe too... I predict he will go far and he deserves it!

Saw Elvis 22 today---WOW! Austin was absolutely spectacular as Elvis. He is not only very talented but also humble, down to earth, very respectful of Elvis, and just a really likable guy with a winning personality! Reminiscent of Elvis's essence? Oh yes!!!

Elvis is a totally compelling piece of cinema. It’s the most exciting film I’ve seen since The Batman. Austin Butler is a remarkable talent and his dedication lead to a totally convincing portrayal of Elvis.

I am a “ gram fan” of this gorgeous guy and his huge talent. Ah to be in my twenties again. . . That said, I was NOT an Elvis fan in the 60’s or earlier ( too young!) BUT I am an “ Austin Elvis” fan!!! I ALSO thought about him as James Dean type character choice. Yes he seems humble, which adds to his charm.

Austin Butler Amazing amazing actor I have never seen such a real emotional delivery that I managed to live that time for more than 02:30 minutes dancing singing acting with faces and mouths and visceral expressions a spectacle of acting Elvis Presley deserves this star that appeared in the cinema.
