@k.o.h3599 No, but if I want a political message, I would go to a political rally. If I want to watch a movie, I want it to be about a good story, not proving a point that I don't care about. I want people to be recognized because of their talents and achievements, not their sexual preferences or skin color. Edit: Also, you can have a political message in a movie if it aids or enhances the film. The movie uses the message to make it more engaging. But these days, the political message IS the movie. There is no story, just the message. That is what I don't like.

Exactly. The entire ensemble was brought over from England as a gift. Unless her father knew her exact measurements, the poor man was stuck approximating. In this case, he guessed just a touch too small. Add in the fact that it was a new, unseasoned corset to go under it... It was a recipe for disaster. But no, this is Hollywood. Corset bad, we must show how restricive the female lead's life is via bedposts and strings. 😂
Tight? Yes. Tight to the point of making breathing more difficult? Also yes. (they prevented your stomach and chest from expanding so of course breathing would be harder) Painful? No, other than the discomfort of not being able to breathe easily which was of course remedied by not having to exert yourself to the point of needing to breathe heavily, they were relatively comfortable after getting used to the shallower breathing. So that corset would have just been considered not the right size if the laces did not allow for it to be closed properly. Bodices were also popular though more so for lower status women due to not needing a servant to help you lace them up. "I'm told it's the latest fashion in London" is also an odd thing to say if he was referencing the corset since these movies take place in the 18th century and corsets became widely popular the 16th century so would have been worn for at least the past hundred years in London so it is really odd for Elisabeth to not have already been wearing one regularly, including in the opening scene when she is just a girl. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he meant the dress, not specifically wearing a corset because yes in the 18th century the fashion was making the hips/butts look bigger and that dress does have some sort of structure to do just that, oh and yellow was of course a popular color. They had actually started to move away from tiny waists in favor of wider hips/larger butts since the structures to do that naturally ended up obscuring the waist a bit anyway with all the ruffles and what-not.
Johnny Depp actually arrived for the audition dressed as he is for Captain Jack Sparrow. He spent 50k I believe on costume and make up. Walked into audition in full character and they loved him.

it truly is a shame that in the movies 90% of the timejack was serious about something they deleted the scene, like the reason he became a pirate was because he freed slaves
I think you guys didn’t catch it, but Jack was working on the East Indian trade, which was a slave trade route. He was supposed to deliver “cargo”, which was slaves and he saved them all. The people you saw in the water at the end of the second movie were the slaves he freed. That was why he was branded as a pirate.
In terms of it being for the series yesterday no could have played it better, in reality However the role was originally made to be played by Hugh jackman
Well, Depp pretty much tailor made the role. He was given carte blanche on how he wanted to play the character in spite of the character not being written that way. So he modeled Jack on the wilder rock stars of the 70s...like Keith Richards. And then Keith Richards is the 3rd movie as Jack's dad. Also, the parley on the beach...when Barbossa took a slice at Jack, he cut free Jack's "piece-of-8" item from his hair. It LOOKED random but was calculated. So that Barbossa could do the ritual.
The whole spot where Will and Jack are walking under water with the overturned dingy is impossible. The amount of strength that would be needed to keep the boat under water that long with that big of an air bubble inside is ridiculous. They would need to be Superman lol. But, say it were possible, as far as oxygen levels. It would probably work for around ten minutes or so I would say? Judging by the amount of air in the bubble.
Captain Jack Sparrow's hat, often called a "tricorn" or "tri-cornered" hat, is a distinctive feature of his character in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies. The tricorn hat was a common fashion during the late 17th and early 18th centuries, which aligns with the historical period portrayed in the films. Here are a few reasons why this hat had that particular shape: 1. **Fashion**: The tricorn hat was a popular style during the Age of Sail, particularly in Europe and among sailors and pirates. It was fashionable and practical, often worn by gentlemen, soldiers, and seafarers. 2. **Functionality**: The shape of the hat was functional for several reasons: - **Rain Protection**: The brim could be turned up on three sides, helping to channel rainwater away from the face and neck, which was particularly useful at sea. - **Visibility**: The folded brims did not obstruct vision as much as a wide-brimmed hat might, which was advantageous for both navigation and combat. - **Convenience**: The tricorn hat was easier to tuck under the arm when entering a building, a common practice at the time, as the wide brim was out of the way. 3. **Character Design**: For Jack Sparrow specifically, the tricorn hat adds to his distinctive, flamboyant look. It helps establish his character as a quintessential pirate, aligning with the popular imagery of pirates from that era. In summary, the shape of Jack Sparrow's hat is rooted in historical fashion and practicality, while also serving to enhance the visual and cultural authenticity of his character in the films.

23:55 sure someone has mentioned it but if not appearently they where under the boat for so long Orlando forgot he was in this movie and began speaking Elvish or so the story goes
24:06 It theoretically could work, but only two people trying it wouldn't. You'd have to be pretty darn strong. The air pressure in the dingy would send them floating to the surface. It would be impressive to even be able to make it to the floor of the ocean like that.

biologically octopus have 3 hearts jones was part octopus so it stands to reason he is very much still alive not to mention he was never cursed he was punished for not carrying out the duty he was charged with this also means that will can very well turn back into a monster if he gets lazy
It was a hell of a conclusion, but what pains me, and I think many others the most, is that it was done in such a weak kind of way. The story of Barbossa having a child and all that is so good, but it feels so wasted that it was done with all the other stuff around, the bad writing and overall kinda weird feeling of the movie. This conclusion should have been made in a better movie.

Movie 1 to 3 is a perfect ending what makes Depp perfect for the role he already has tattoos and the swagger The reason why Jack was wanted and had to p on his hand was because he refused to sell slaves to the trading Company under the command of Commander Beckett
i just want you to know i watched the individual videos for this now the one with them all together and have watched it at least 5 times over why i don't know it entertains me
So as someone else pointed out, the reason Jack was branded a pirate, and thus became one, is because he freed slaves while working for Beckett and the East India Trading Company. But see this actually contradicts the flashback in Dead Men Tell No Tales, but Dead Men shows that Jack was always a pirate even as young man and became a captain after outwitting Salazar and in the process becoming a Pirate Lord. Mind you that these events, despite leading to the near total wipe of the pirates, are never referenced in the original trilogy and it's just implied that pirates have prospered for a long time. It should also be noted that despite his apparent legend status among pirates, Blackbeard is oddly not a Pirate Lord while Jack and Barbossa are. Which is also strange because Barbossa was Jack's first mate, so you had two Pirate Lords just running around together apparently.
If y'all want more pirate movies one I'd suggest for a reaction to would be 1991's Hook. Stars Dustin Hoffman as Captain James T. Hook and Robin Williams as Peter Pan. Even though it's more of a Peter Pan driven story Dustin's performance as Hook is unmatched. Also, Bob Hoskins playing Mr. Smee, probably my favorite character in the movie.
There's a deleted scene in the third movie where and explains Jack's past and says how he used to be on a naval ship when he was a child and he freed slaves from the ship that's where he got the pirate from and the P embroidered on his arm and the people at the end of the second movie you were crying because Jack was dead where the slaves that he freed from the ship

Recall, Elizabeth Turner is how she very first introduced herself to Barbossa.

4:19:32 sheesh Stilgar... to much Water seems to be really bad for Fremen
The music for the kraken is amazing. I listen to it all the time.
2:26:23 one of the funniest lines of the whole trilogy between jack n barbossa, can’t help but think it was improvised by johnny depp too 😂😂😂
Crazy how we have a mad Cthulu pirate that's pretty much a demigod and still the most evil part of the original trilogy is the East India Company.
Did they do the last one dead man tell no tales,
There's a deleted scene in the third movie where and explains Jack's past and says how he used to be on a naval ship when he was a child and he freed slaves from the ship that's where he got the pirate from and the P embroidered on his arm and the people at the end of the second movie you were crying because Jack was dead where the slaves that he freed from the ship
I can watch this movie anytime.
