What a great video! Idk how long you've been doing pours and blooms, but I started like mid 2019. I watched soo many videos from different creators and was inspired! But my goodness, you needed 50 different (pricey!) ingredients, had to have a PhD in blowing, stirring, and tilting, or your creation just wasn't going to look good. Garrick, I have THOUSANDS of dollars in supplies, and guess what? A YEAR AND A HALF LATER, HERE COMES MR GARRICK TO BLOW ALL THAT NONSENSE OUT THE WINDOW. 😂 I kid you not friend, my blooms have NEVER looked as good as they have since I discovered your channel. I'm kinda mad about it lol Either other artists never experimented with simple ingredients, or it was supposed to be a hobby for the cool rich kids 🤷🏼♀️. I am so very grateful for you and your content, and I honestly hope more people find your channel. 🥰
You know, if someone couldn't see what you are doing, this whole talk about 'pillows' and 'blooms' could be very disturbing ;-) . Thank you! I love it! Yay!
Garrick, your video is terrific! Your explanations are articulate and to the point. I'm a beginner and have watched so many tutorials that are rambling and too confusing to finish. So, thank you so much!
Love 💕 your ability to slow down and explain. Sometimes tutorials get people lost because they end up going back and forth with explanations that have nothing to do with the current example. I have watched many, many, tutorials. Yes, I have taken the class and have watch that also. But, I still look for those that can show and tell in a manner that is not confusing. Thank you, I am happy I found you.
@@GarrickBrownArtStudio Really I got what you were saying. That is what the point is. My hubby can teach but he is sometimes not that detailed and for some of us is all in the details. Yes I love your humor but you did not forget the details. Show and tell the humor was where it needed to be.
Many thanks that was awesome to see all the instructional concepts and ideas explained so clearly. And WOW your voice is easy to listen too! Thanks for the video
i’m not gonna lie, i was like a black man doing blooms?? I was like i gotta see this!! FANTASTIC, love it!! i will subscribe, Thanks for sharing your experiments. it’s so crazy i saw this video because this EXACT experiment was what i was going to do next and you saved me a whole day!! Thank you 😊

This video I'm sure you'll like too. One of my best Blooms ever and a beach Swipe to sweeten the end. ruclips.net/video/S7O-qr2u-bw/видео.html
YOU are such a good teacher!!! I have been acrylic pouring for over 2 yrs. I sure could’ve benefited from YOU when I first started. I love all methods, blooming is such fun. I’ve learned from YOU today!!! Would’ve never thought to try artist loft flow as a pillow!!! Brilliant minds are those that can not only think outside of the box but those that just leave the box all together!!!! Appreciate your time, humor, tips and tricks. You are just great. Your video editing is awesome! I’m too lazy to create a RUclips art channel. Lol or maybe I just want to paint instead!! Haha I mix my pillow with some GAC 800. Like 1/4 cup to 4 cups of pillow paint. It really helps with the crazing. Also as you know metallic paints will create beautiful cells!,
Awww thanks for such kind words. I love to have fun and painting is so much fun. So thrilled i can share a little bit of me with the world. Much love!❤
You are lovely!! I'm starting a table project and want to add a few blooms to it so I've been watching a million videos on this technique. You are my favourite !! Very clear instructions and examples and I like the pace of your videos and the music too.Thank you so much for making these videos and sharing your knowledge. I also love that you break the stereotypes that exists. I will be following you for sure, you make me smile Garrick- thank you.
Awww well I am super happy that i can help you. I am worming on getting back to these type of videos in the coming weeks. Its been a while and its time. Thanks again. ❤️❤️
Thank you for this!!! Because the “experts” constantly say we need a thicker pillow.. which has caused me troubles… so I’m excited to try it with your process with a thinner pillow/base. New Subscriber Today! Oh! And I too enjoy negative space
This video was so enlightening! I've been experimenting with thinner paints for blooms and gotten REALLY interesting results (actually my favorite two modified blooms that I've done) and this has helped me understand those results so thank you very much for that. I did want to comment that if you're using a house paint as a pillow and you're using water to thin it you have to be careful to not add too much for the paint itself to handle or the pigments will break down - learned this the hard way by randomly picking a house paint that was super duper thick. Thank you so much for this info! And it's always wonderful to see your gorgeous smile and your beautiful spirit!
@@GarrickBrownArtStudio Going well but slightly slowed due to hubs randomly deciding to strip the 60 year paint off our cupboards and stain them (and I am WOWED at the results so far, giving me yet another reason to adore him lol) - we have to trade off time due to sawdust and such, and I'm helping but tonight I start something I'm hoping to give my dad for father's day that I'm pretty geeked about. You know me and my multiple-step pours lol. Heard the frogs unthaw a couple nights ago which means spring is here in Michigan so I'm more pumped than ever to get my actual studio done!
Thanks Garrick...you make fabulous videos! I wouldn't change anything....you're articulate, funny, very informative and you're are clean with great lighting
Thank you so much Garrick, this is the best tutorial for a beginner. The basics and differences of consistency extremely well explained and demonstrated, very helpful and much appreciated. ❤
loved this! thank you so much for your video - so informative, and so entertaining. you should do one about figuring out how to gauge *where* to blow - once I get my face close to the paint I have no point of reference to determine where the CA puddle is 😂🤣
Hi Garrick👋... at 5:19 you talk about Artist Loft flow acrylic... Is this the same thing as Artist Loft soft body acrylic? I can't find the flow acrylic anywhere! I'm glad I found your channel, straight to the point and proofs in the puddin'. ❤
This is an excellent video Garrick! So much good info; beautiful work; great editing and of course the pillows at the beginning cracked me up. My only suggestion is for your last puff that goes straight down to the tile-if you wait a few minutes the pillow paint will collect under that middle section so you can then tilt everything in unison so it doesn’t roll over itself. Bravo!!
Thank you! You're a good teacher and I appreciate how you don't make us watch "paint dry " lol. Some youtubers practically keep the camera running while they run to the bathroom ....I guess they can't edit, idk. Anyway...I've been trying to get familiar with blooms and you make it easier to understand and practical.
I have just recently really started watching you to actually learn something, very informative, very cute-entertaining, and just down to Earth talk. Thanks for sharing the different ways you have explored with us so we too can have better bloom experiences. I just need to know the CA recipe. I think it's 3:1 Aussie to Amsterdam so I will try that. Thankx again for sharing....I'm very new to using Aussie floetrol and I feel better about using it now.
