People should always be honest about abuse, so it never happens again. However a son is not responsible for his father actions.

While you asked some pretty tough questions (and understandably), I think I speak for many to say thank you Andrew for your kindness and understanding of his situation. You are obviously a good person. Brian is an easy target from the mistakes he made including alcohol abuse and was quite rightly moved aside from the leadership. This does not excuse people for abusing him. He is human like the rest of us.

Pastor Brian said that after his father told him what he had done, he told many other people about it. and even went to the man who his father had assaulted to try to put things right. He has been hounded by the media ever since. It has nearly destroyed him and his family.. "The same way we judge others, God will judge us. "

Hillsong roots started from brians father so it was rotten from the start.he still allowed his father to go to other churches and pr😮each this has been documented. Many AOG pastors had no idea the seriousness of frank hustons perverted acts against young boys Brian is lucky his father didnt hurt him when he was a child or his children.Yes our heavenly father gives grace but the SIN committed has damaged lives Brian knew all along what had happened, this is just slick talking and wanting to promote himself and his family to get back the mega life style he misses. Frank Houston abused more than 1 young boy. At least 2 men have given interviews about the vile abuse they endured as young children from filthy frank and both have also testified that Brian has been unkind in his words and ignored them in their adult lives.
1 man was a boyhood friend of Brian's and said Brian won't speak to him now.
It's all very well for Brian to play the pity party persecuted one, but God, judge of all of us, sees it all.

I am across the theology around grace, forgiveness and justification, but none of it means that a person won't face any consequences for their actions. For example, God will completely forgive a man his adultery should he repent but there are still very real human consequences for him with his wife, family and potentially community. There is no "free pass" there. For better or worse, BH is a prominent figure in the community and even though a judge cleared him of concealment doesn't mean the community are just going to free pass him.
