God elevates strong leaders just as much as he does humble servants. There are a lot of “champions” that we know very well from the scriptures whom god loved very much as well.
I think as Christians we need to pray for those who are "popular" in ministry or famous in a world setting. Take Chip and Joanna Gaines, I pray for them often that they will be able to stay true to each other and their faith. The same for Steven Furtick and his wife.

I'd encourage you to rethink this theology. The church started because of men being the head of it on earth (the Apostles). The key is "on earth." Your response is a typical legalistic argument to not have to submit to any authority. But Christ is clear that he's the head of the church in the ultimate sense, but he still uses his earthly leaders to guide it and build it. It was the point in Christ telling Peter that He would start to build his church on Peter's leadership (Matt 16:18). Paul was the head of the churches he planted, so were the other apostles that planted.
@@JD-rx2kh Colossians 1:18,24 I don’t need to rethink my theology, b/c “theology” is not mine to begin with. The Bible says Christ is head of His church. The end.

LMAOOOO, I haven't gone to church in awhile. But whenever I saw this Carl Lentz guy, with his designer fashion and friends, I never really bought that a person like him could lead a religious community. Where is the humility? The humbleness? Not surprised by this news at all.
Humility is not about outward appearance it's about one's heart attitude. You can read where Moses wrote that HE was the meekest man alive. Not what you might expect when describing oneself! Meekness & humility is about our heart attitude and our response to glorifying Him.
Humbleness has got nothing to do with clothes. As you said, you haven’t been in church in a while, so am sure you haven’t been ready your bubble for a while either

Y’all taking this out of context 🙄 Essentially Brian was emphasising that unfortunately representing Jesus means we no longer represent our own thoughts, feelings and emotions. He was bridging a gap in understanding with a critical world who operates solely in the flesh!
"Unfortunately as a pastor, you don't represent what you think but what the bible thinks", the fact that you think that is unfortunate is really unfortunate
Pastor B. was being an honest human. Don't steal it from its context. Simply put, it can be easier to give in and follow your flesh's passions, but following Jesus is worth it all. As one of their worship leaders/songwriters said, "faith's about becoming more like Jesus no matter what the cost."
@@kennysfdg471 wrong. Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Heb 11:1. These 'leaders' in these churches are not educated on the word of God. God definately is interested in our souls because He created them so we could love worship and have a relationship with Him through His only begotten son Yeshua. The veil in the temple was torn at the crucifixion to open that doorway to God so the only high priest we need is Yeshua. The media would like to find fault in every Christian church out there. The pastors are all sinners just like Carl and all of us but guess what those are the ones Yeshua loved on the most when He was here. He looks at the heart. Anyone that puts any pastor on a special pedestal needs to quit. That is a form of idol worship that most don't deserve or want. @@markhenderson3545 Maybe that is what he meant. But that's not true either. It's actually a supreme blessing that God's Word shows us the truth, whatever our sin.
Lol, I think he meant it more as, as a Christian in general, your thoughts on a situation may not always be perfectly aligned with what the Bible says, which makes sense because we are all imperfect and fall short of the glory of God. However, He represents a Truth greater than his own mindset (which is influenced by the world since he's still human), and as a pastor, it's his responsibility to preach the surpassing righteousness of God's truth, even when he can't fully understand it all.
Wow!! This is not the first time this has happened in a ministry. God is cleaning house and He corrects us He loves us. What God allows to be taken down He will build back up. We are not perfect, people fail but God’s love never fails.
I have friends who are pastors, I am close to many pastors, I hear their cries about their church. Their struggles in their ministries, people, finances, you name it. I hear their struggles and I see it everyday. The pastors close to me are THIS CLOSE to breaking under all of that pressure. I praise and thank the Lord that He’s giving them strength to operate under such stress. To even put this scandal into perspective, I don’t even know how pastor Brian is dealing with it. Really, imagine leading 5+ diff churches worldwide, with their own unique problems and needs. Only by the grace of God that’s he’s able to not crack under pressure. Instead of criticizing the leadership, pray for the leadership because all in all the pastors are human. They do sometimes crack and break, hence they need prayers and support. We are the Body of Christ and we are supposed to group hug each other when trials and tribulations rise.
I think pastors and church leaders "crack under pressure" because it is a "one man system" led from the front, while the passive congregation listen. The New Testament cites an "all-body ministry" made up of pastors, prophets, teachers, evamgelists, etc. They are not meant to be carried out by ONE PERSON, which is why they get burnt out. A pastor is not a teacher and vice versa. They are two separate roles. Pastors are pastoral and care for the flock such as visiting and counselling etc, but a teacher is responsible for the promulgation of Bible reading and sound doctrine. If the two roles overlap (as in many denominational churches) then the concentration on one role will be diluted and compromised. The answer to all these 'failures' is in the Bible!

Yeah, I’ve always had a problem with that “you are a disgusting piece of trash in need of a savior” message that Christianity tries to sell. Think about it, would you let anyone in your life (mother, father, husband, wife, friend ,employer, etc.) treat you that way? No, most people would reject someone attempting to verbally and mentally abuse someone in that manner, but, call it a “religion” and all of a sudden people lose all of their critical thinking faculties. Disturbing.
It's all about the money for most churches. Churches are treated like businesses and corporations anymore. The church has really become no different than the world. You have to find God and Jesus for yourself.
I disagree that most churches are all about money. Certainly we need money in order to operate, support different ministries, and spread the gospel, but for the most part I see the churches in my community being all about Jesus. Nobody is looking to make a profit in most local churches. These mega churches are few and far in between.
While this statement is true for a good amount of churches this does not apply to all. There are good churches but they’re hard to find. I’d suggest asking God to lead you to the right church. Just like God lead me to a good church when I asked He can do the same for you. In these end times it is not good to be without fellowship or having a preacher that can help guide you through spiritual warfare or whatever situations you deal with. The devil wants isolated believers because that gives him the opportunity to easily mislead you or attack you. Like the Bible says he is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Please take heed. You will need the body of Christ to help you in these last and evil days. The Bible says that Jesus is coming back for a Church without spot of wrinkle and if you’re not apart of a church and you’re not getting spiritually fed by a seasoned man of God who can rightly divide the word and you don’t have anyone to call to help when the devil is attacking you in your mind then you won’t make it in these end times. That’s why the Bible clearly states “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” Hebrews 10:25 NLT

It is no wonder that people are no longer interested in the church or Christianity. For now, I enjoy being able to watch whatever pastor I choose online. Thanks again. 😌
Need to realize what Hillsong did for people around the world that has been forgotten because of these scandals . Thank God for the goodness of things come into your life . Hillsong inspired me and I will never forget that
Ephesians 4:31-32 31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
@@humanperson318 he's not saying to forget that. He's simply saying not to forget the good deeds they did. They still need to be held accountable for their wrongs, but they did do a lot of good for people around the world. That's all he's saying and I agree.
“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” “Hay camino que al hombre le parece derecho, pero su fin es camino de muerte.”
There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, But its end is the way of death. Proverbs 14:12 AMP bible.com/bible/1588/pro.14.12.AMP
We are all human. If you are expecting perfection, you won't find it. We have all fallen short. If anything these kind of issues show our need of a savior. If anything, it shows the chance to start again.
Well isn’t that convenient, just shove it all off on “Jesus” and that absolves you of everything. No real accountability at all. You’ve been caught lying and exploiting your followers? No problem, just tell them “no one is perfect” and there you go. Instant absolution. No wonder people like this Christianity thing, you can do literally anything and no one will ever hold you responsible for it IF you appeal to the basic tenet of the religion which is “you are all terrible people” . You escape accountability for your flaws while you go about judging others, like gays and transgendered people for what you mistakenly assume is their “flaw” . What a mess these people are.
This is the problem with these churches as they pedal "cheap grace" and preach that is ok to remain in your sin and God will give you a mulligan. Jesus said "be ye perfect as your father is perfect" in Matthew 5 so why are we not striving to hit the bulls eye? Because of churches like hillsong who teach baby Christians to believe its ok to remain in their sin. NO! Jesus's first ministry was repentance! Are we forgetting that God is sovereign? Do not be deceived by the music and the watered down message!
As a pastor, he didn't speak about Jesus until the reporter asked him about if Jesus would be pleased to be in the service. That should say it all. Hillsong is a business, and this is a poor attempt at damage control to keep bringing the money in.
@@curshenfigueroa4023 I agree! It has become all about the sights and sounds and taking creative liberties at the cost of deviation from the Gospel. It's heartbreaking.
I grew up in a traditional church, I have made my decision to believe, I have gone through different seasons in my journey with God and have been to and served in different churches. No church is perfect because no one is perfect, we come to church because we're thirsty for God and we want to follow. I just hope that all these scandals, bad news don't affect our believe in God. The greatness of God can nowhere be represented by any church on earth, but we still come because we want more of life and for each other.
I honestly think part of the reason Hillsong has found itself in the state it is in now is because the Church indeed is too big. So many branches, operating like a business with little to no accountability, evidently, with what has come to light.
Then I heard another voice from heaven say: "'Come out of her, my people,' so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues; rev 18:4
@Esther Totally Agree with you and so does the bible, I don't think your being self righteous at all it's discernment and alot of the modern day Christians lack it because they are not being spiritually fed by the word nor do the have the spiritual maturity to know it. The truth hurts but it should challenge us to build a real relationship with God 🙌🏾 bless you
“If you declare with your mouth “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). Now is the time to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. Obey His commands and repent of your sins because Jesus is coming back soon. Tomorrow isn’t promised.
Listen, accept the Lord Jesus Christ teaching of the gospel and be baptise for cleansing of sins. Obey God's word and adapt it in your day to day life.
Which commands are we to obey? Jesus told his disciples not to preach to gentiles. Do we obey that? Jesus told people to keep the law (613 of them). Do we keep them? Jesus told a young man to keep the law to gain eternal life. Is that what we are to do? Jesus gave Paul the revelation of the mystery which is how we are saved by grace without works of law. Should we listen to Paul who received new instructions from the risen Christ?
If the World loves you something is wrong! They hated JESUS and he said They will Hate You but Remember they Hated Me First! They Preach a Different Gospel! They Serve A Different JESUS! BEWARE! God Bless you!

Sorry dude but from a secular point of view, she got that right. Yes, Jesus is the head of the Church, the Shepherd of the flock. Pastors are under shepherds and the senior Pastor is responsible to insure that those the church employs are being faithful to Christ in their personal lives as well as their public lives. There has to be a human in charge of the local Church and God has chosen the Pastor for that job and that responsibility. It's just like a corporation. The CEO that is hired today, despite being on the job for an hour, must do his job from an ownership point of view. Otherwise, he or she has no personal investment in the corporation and may do much more harm than good to the company.
“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. Matthew 7:15 NIV matthew.bible/matthew-7-15
"Unfortunately as a pastor we have to represent what the Bible says"...... um why would that be unfortunate if the Bible is what you claim to fully believe and practice?
Yeah, why? Well, I guess it can be difficult... "lay down your life" "sacrifice" "do unto others" are not fun things to do, sometimes. So if you are just going by feelings it can seem "unfortunate"? But hopefully remembering verses like, "It is better to give than to receive", and "Come unto me all who labor and have heavy burdens and I will give you rest" will help us go against our (selfish) feelings.
Because if you’re putting yourself in the other persons shoes with empathy, then you speak to them from the place they are. Which for some would make it inconvenient and unfortunate at that place in their lives.
Exactly, it’s not unfortunate. It is not about disliking people, it’s about hating sin. Hate the sin not the sinner. We all sin and it hurts my heart when I do. I also really hurt seeing sin effect others negatively.
“Unfortunately, as a pastor, you don’t represent what you think. You represent what the Bible says. And so, at this point we still are conservative on the subject.”
Frightening statement, actually. Unfortunately being the operative word. “At this point, we are still conservative on the subject.” Well, God will not be changing His mind on the subject, sooo...
I'm glad someone highlighted this. It was almost like he was scared to speak God's truth. There's nothing "unfortunate" about it. If that's how you feel then why are you still pastoring? God's Word is the same yesterday, today and forever and that won't be changing. God is clear on the subject. I enjoyed the interview up until that moment and got a gross feeling after he spoke those words. It's only going to get harder to stand and speak up as today's culture plummets deeper and deeper into darkness. May God give us the courage and strength!
Went to a Hillsong Conference in 2012 where both this guy and Carl Lentz and the rest attended. Will never forget that they had their own VIP section for these ppl and so us with a buggy had to carry the buggy’s up several flight of stairs instead of getting to use the elevator👍🏽 That was the end of respect for this church. What has happened does not surprise me at all.
I was a (volunteer) bus driver for a few conferences. The VIP sections, and the VIP guest speakers getting chauffeur driven from the airport to the conferences (-the lesser known, even if they were from overseas, were driven around in the bus -) made me uncomfortable. The local leaders, as many of the volunteers were nice enough, well meaning people.

But God did this. Your religion did this. You did this. Hide from Hillsong's Sin and be rejected from Heaven
I agree with you Trisha Gives🤗🤗🙏🙏❤❤💜💜

Nope, assault is not a "we are all sinners" conversation. Ravi did horrific disgusting things. To reduce it to that is unjust and why so many people leave the church. Making what he did palatable is one of the reason I grew tired of Christianity.
@@michellec.7996 I agree the accusations are pretty horrible. But there were a numbers of things I don't like about this case. He had the woman who sent him nude pictures in 2017. No, most people would reject someone attempting to verbally and mentally abuse someone in that manner, but, call it a “religion” and all of a sudden people lose all of their critical thinking faculties.
That’s why the Bible clearly states “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

Too much popularity and power can corrupt even the elite
Interesting that the first person to even mention Jesus in this piece was the journalist and NOT the pastor/Man of God.🤔
That could be editing though. Obviously there are parts of the interview edited out
True! 😅
You will know them by there FRUITS
Bingo!
@@Linsey2345 there's nothing unfortunate about representing what the Bible says.
@Topnotch tn Depends on the side you’re receiving information on now doesn’t it?
God looks at the quality, not the quantity.

Hillsong church needs to be shutdown.
It doesn't matter how small or big a church is, there will be people who will try to hide from accountability.
True.
Exactly
Well, that is a slightly different kind of seed sowing 🤣
You’re gonna need to pray for your sin of murder right there 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Good reporting. Love that you asked tough questions.
Overly edited. Not produced well.
Man Brian Huston is a joke.
When you don't truly preach the Word of God and not live it, this is what happens. God's name will not be mocked!
Amen!!!
I totally agree.
Word! Thank you!
I wish he had more concrete steps he could have described about what Hillsong is doing to improve. Instead of these sweeping statements.

Commenters here aren’t aware of the shady things of Hillsong or Brian’s concealment of his fathers sexual abuse cases.

God has used Hillsong, yet the focus on image, celebrity and success is sharp contrast with the simplicity of the Gospel. Let's pray for them, folks.
A buggy for what?
@@drrush3421 A baby buggy.
Cult leaders always distance themselves from their followers. Familiarity breeds contempt.
@@jasonayres That`s the sad part isn`t it. So many kind and God fearing ppl in these churches being exploited. Hopefully what`s happening now will teach them a good lesson.
I imagine Jesus turning over tables at a Hillsong service.

NO...he won't!!! Fire would rain down like in Sodom & Pompeii. No wonder Australia was burning 2 years back.
@@mattongbp , do you not understand the turning over tables reference?
@@babbitsmom I do, but that is NOT what JESUS Christ will do NOW. See 2 Peter 3:10.
