Seems like the perfect setup👍🏻 Thanks for sharing! Does the Atem have an autoswitcher function? I would love to have the person speaking in frame when recording a 2 person podcast without having to switch manually😅
I would like to see the cable you are using from the road caster to the ATEM mini pro iso. I have tried numerous cables and cannot get them to work without buzzing and nasty noises. Now I am trying a silly clean box adding more cables….. thank you
Thanks for the sub! I haven't messed around too much with the recording settings. This switcher only records 1080p so I just let its do it's thing and the results have been pretty great.
I’m curious as to why you plug the Rodecastor into the Atem? I’ve seen a lot of videos on how to do this, but I feel like you just took an expensive piece of equipment and voided more than half of its features and purpose. Is it more so editing in the end? Giving Atem more mics? or am I missing something?
Thanks for the comment man. For this particular job and client we configured the equipment this way so that it was less editing. Essentially, when the recording stops on location, the client has a podcast that is essentially ready to be published. There are many ways to accomplish this but this is just how I did it at this particular job. With advancements in AI, there are new a few other options that are a bit better IMO.
I have the same setup: Sony a6400 to ATEM Mini Pro ISO; Shure SM7B to Rodecaster Pro 2; Rodecaster Pro 2 (dual audio to 3.5mm) to ATEM Mini Pro ISO; External Drive connected to the ATEM. But I have a problem: I'm recording great video, but NO AUDIO. The "MIC 1" on the ATEM is ON. I've recorded 33 episodes, but now I'm recording no audio. I did check the ATEM software and made sure the audio was set to "LINE" instead of "Microphone." Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm stumped. Btw, love the podcast.
@@Andrew_Nycz right on, between now and CES I'm trying to figure out what the best way to transport an entire video podcast setup would be, all within 2-3 checked bags. I have the atem mini pro, rodecaster, and sony cameras
@@BrandonDoyleMN Yea the live box and a few pelican cases should get the job done! Or you can get the pelican air and carry on all you cams/lenses and just check the tripods and stands etc.
@@Andrew_Nycz yeah, Pelican Air seems like the way to go for most of the equipment. I just like the idea of the live box because of built in screen and having everything just plug in externally. I'm worried that the buttons and ports might get damaged in transit though
This is a beautiful setup. If I could give you some helpful advice, if you could put your amazon affiliate links that would help out with people getting the exact items that we see on your videos. I like your channel & the work that you do. I just subscribed
Love this. One question the mini pro iso has a 1080p recording limit do you film in 4k and swap out the files from the cameras in post or do you keep the 1080 quality
Great question! Thats the downfall of this switcher (and that it only has one usb connection so you can record to an ssd and send to a computer at the same time) so I normally just rock the 1080p.
@@Andrew_Nycz Most often it is youtube and facebook. The problem is the same for booth platforms. No matter which one I use. I have ATEM mini PRO with (HDMI) and I have Atem extreme SDI.

QQ...can you bring in guests during your LIVE without needing a computer or 3rd party software such as Streamyard, Ecamm or OBS?

Hey! Its MEA Entertainment : mealivebox.com/
Great video man! Appreciate it.
Could you share the batteries you use for the cameras and how you connect them, Thank you!
Thanks! On the Fx3 I just have a small rig V Mount battery that is keeping the camera battery charged up through USB C!
NICE SETUP
Thanks!

@@Andrew_Nycz gotcha. So less time for editing. That’s because the sounds and video are already together in one instead of two files right?
@ Exactly. This was a lower budget project
I am desperate to know where you found that balanced adapter @ 2:28

Have you tried another cable? Cheaper cables tend to crap out pretty quickly.
Have you ever flown with the live box as checked luggage?
I haven't. Based on the build quality though, I would feel comfortable checking it!

basic atem mini can write video on ssd? i think it can only ISO or PRO version

how do I get a live box, who makes them
Why Atem devices not streaming the same quality ( for example in youtube) as he recording? Ethernet speed is not a problem.
