I never knew what I was missing as a lifetime solo on Rust.... now I remember what it was. Sheds. They were great in legacy rust.... really helped you get a foot hold on large pop servers. I hope they stay.

@@kazeatron Tool cupboard, 1000 wood, building the walls / roof.... more wood.... tool.... wood.... plus door.... lock..... With my luck on wipe days.... a group of 2-3 will come with bows by the time I have the tool cupboard done... lol At least with the shed? 600 wood and a bag.... boom.... instant home.

oh man, that inside night footage of the shed brings back some memorys, is soo nostalgic! I love it!
I think this new shed is definitly a game changer, it will be way less frustrating to play wipes as you would be able to just put it down fast istead of having to build a whole base, just to have a foot hold and get the initial things befor starting a main base.
And i don't think this will be a problem, as if they put it to deacay fast or not, it will be easy to raid and it will give more usage to mollys :)
I think the only risk would be if they're op to carry around while roaming
@@GliTch564 can already do that with the wooden watchtower tbh, but in pvp i have never seen something do that..
I mostly play modded servers with hordes of special npc/zombies and the watchtower is pretty much required if you go out to roam and want to survive.. (see a horde and put tower down and bag in tower to have a safe respawn)
But there's tons of items that fit in them, and i think even more than in the shack..

And also an easy trapbase, can put a shotgun turret inside on top out of sight for people on the ladder and when they come to loot they just get deleted, while you or a friend gets their stuff

To prevent players from spamming shelters, the devs could put a limit to how many shelters a player can have, similarly to sleeping bag limits.
Simple fix for the shed is just have each player allowed only one at a time, and once it's placed it begins a 12hr decay that can't be stopped. The idea is to get a foothold on an area and if you haven't managed that in 12hrs... well...
i bet they are going to be frequently molotoved and raided because of the 1 wood door
@@Jadee95 this was my first thought. I'm excited for the insert but definitely an easy target for molotovs. Also something to consider when your entering a server past a few days from wipe. Most certainly monthly.
I would prefer a limit of 3 shelters.
Ngl, these are only gonna be useful for like 3hrs. After that, there would be no point as spawning across the map for different pvp/players and starting over would be 10x better. This shed is the equivalent to a locked large box out in the open... Only difference now is you can hide in it, and it has 300 more hp (on the walls...). lol the wood door makes it utterly useless later on in the wipe. Even later in the wipe, and you are a fresh spawn, I would expect your shed to be raided within the hour... Unless you hide that mf. But I expect to see people carrying molotov's with them just in case. lol a limit is decent, I do like that. But again, they wont last long. Also, if it starts to decay the moment you place it down, then the total HP of your walls will be draining... Makes no sense to have such a weak fort to get even weaker after placing... It should start to decay after the the server has sensed no door movement. And repair with hammer if you made it back before decay or it was destroyed
they will be used to hide from pvp engagements just like in legacy. It will be super annoying to be chasing someoen and they just plop this on top of theselves. Moltovs will be somethign i roam with lol
Shelters would make for fantastic drop-off points for mining in the snow, as well as quick raid bases for small teams!
I see them limiting quantity like bags.
it's always wild to come back to this channel and see how much Rust has changed since I last played. Its like a whole new game with how much they add so quick its crazy.
I stopped playing rust shortly after the Blueprint update lol. Insane to see how far it’s come. But I did like when it was simple.
We need more tier 1 weapons. Maybe a sling shot, Or blow dart.

Poison darts made from some semi-rare plant only growing on a certain rock cliff model or under some node that's been there for longer than a day.
Sheds are big for solos. Its about time solo's get some love

Man, that shed brings back memories. Some my first videos were with legacy rust. The "Good old days" .
This brings back memories of shelter slums near the road between Rad-Town and Resource valley.
Those sheds will last about 15min on most servers.

Imagine when something despawns on ground, like AK, you can find it and dig it up with metal detector. Other than that you just dig up scrap/random comps. Could be cool

Love the links to GameLightz in the description Shadowfrax! My favorite Rust builder - he's always on top of the science in how the building system works in the game.
God, i remember in Legacy Rust, i built my house in Metal Valley, and this one guy kept trying to live in this hut near my home. Placed so many wooden barriers in front of his door to make him go away, but he was persistent.
Eventually offline raided me when i went to bed, by placing a spiral of wooden barriers to my upstairs window (which had no bars, i was new)
Dude i played in rust when be red zombies... Then red animals. Its be best time and game!!!

using the shed as an external wall during pvp for less then half of the price is pretty op. especially if you just get knocked during a fight you still might be able to save your body in the shed.
in an alternative universe rust has taken the survival game route and rejected arcade gameplay and i'm excited for this aniversary

I was actually surprised with the turrets not being able to shoot through chain link fences, then that immedeatly went away when you said they wouldn’t add that.

I might use it as my PVE power-shed for my large batteries connected to the Windmills and Solar Panels.
If a nearby TC upkeeps the shed then yes, otherwise the 'decay if you don't open the door every day' function might become a pain for permanent structures.

@@RKroese I think there is a way to automate doors without human intervention in rust but I frequently view the server during the week just to make sure the TC is in order.
The legacy bow makes the arrow look like it's going to shoot way off to the left.
Facepunch should know the first month of this item will be overused but after a few wipes will die down to normal

They need to bring back legacy zombies lol maybe a Halloween event or somthing
Need a Colt Peacemaker type Revolver to go with the Frontier Building Skin.
Need the ability to swap or do Caliber conversions on some Weapons. Water Pipe Shotgun is a perfect example and candidate for this. One could take it to a Workbench do a Chamber and Barrel swap boom, now you got yourself a Water Pipe Single Break Action Rifle. Would be great as a cheap Early Game kind of just started Ranged Weapon.

@@sakamoto2467 Yes, the Shotgun is fine as only needs an optic to make it better.
The workaround of building 15 spaces out instead of 9 only fixed above ground bunkers. Caves nerfed heavily.

Wasn't there an option to go back and fourth instead of straight 15 spaces? I dont see how it nerfed anything except the initial cost to place foundations?
@@frussly733 Yes you can go back and fourth as long as you get the 15, also it wasn't a "nerf" they didn't even mean to remove the bunkers, this is just a work around.

they should do battle boats instead of the bus, imagine if every player spawned in riding a boat to land and all players hit land at roughly the same time in a sort of hunger games esque way rather than the already used before battle bus.

When will Depth charges be made as a deployable for the tugboats and maybe a maned turret again for the tug.

Hopefully they add some deployment time. They will replace wall pvp meta and be spammed everywhere along with early game instant tc greifing
edit - maybe a limit per player would prevent the spamming/griefing

There is a lot of DLCs recently, it started to bother me a bit. I enjoy like to watch those updates even if i haven played this game in like a year or more, but it stating to be half a vid of basically ad for DLC and rest is bit of stuff and some speculations form changelog.

A bug, not a feature, to reach through the giant gaps in the wall? Common man, you played legacy, that _was_ a feature! lol I remember getting killed and looted between the board gaps sooooo many times.
These are disposable grief TCs.
No more stone triangles with TCs. BUT... you cant build off of them, so will be interesting to watch the various ways these things will be employed beyond just an off-the-beach house to store your first base resources.
these can so easily be op. You really shouldn’t be able to have more than one of these placed at any given time and you shouldn’t be able to deauthorize. You should also be prevented from placing one down if you’re authorized on a tc or if you’ve deauthorized from a tc in the past 15-30min (prevents people from using this as a pvp shelter).
@@bear532had me in the first half but I don’t agree with the tc thing. If you run inside you’re trapped in a wood door and mfs can easily break in.
@@ethandonovan8368 yeah I don't mind a PVP shelter... you're only blocking yourself in. I think walls will still predominate for that "quick cover" aspect of PVP simply because you have more than one exit.
