Many years ago I was a lorry driver away all week and my wife was at home with 2 young kids, my neighbor saw the grass in our garden was getting tall, instead of just commenting he came around and cut it for us. No questions and no judgement, he just did it. I've retired now, so am able to return that favour to neighbours in need. Instead of judging, ask, everyone needs a little help from time to time.

Years ago, I used to cut my neighbours front lawn when I cut my own. Then a family situation / emergency meant I didn’t have time for a number of months. The grass grew and grew, and not once did my neighbour ever enquire if anything was ok! Sadly, much of the time, doing good deeds means you end up being taken for granted!

I spent decades helping others as a nurse. I'm now in a position where my health has deteriorated to the point where I need help. About 6 years ago, my mother and 2 of my brothers died within 9 months. My 3rd brother was diagnosed with terminal heart disease and he moved in with me. I was still working plus caring for him full time, which accelerated my own health problems. I cared for him for 2 years before he also passed away. Please don't judge. You don't know what the situation is that caused this. My yard looked very bad and, when I finally stopped hiding behind pride and I shared my health issues, several people stepped in to help. I am eternally grateful they did. Now some of the neighborhood preteens and teens have started helping me and I pay them so they can earn something for their hard work and I am at peace knowing my yard isn't an eyesore.

As to judging folks.. ive suffered from mental health problems due to my husband's health issues. In the last 12 months, he nearly died 3 times. The stress on both of us was absolute, overwhelming and completely debilitating. FYI, we've been married 33.5 years and are in our late 60,s. So, please don't judge a person by what you may see on the outside, inside there may well be a plethora of invisible problems. Be kind and spread a little sunshine in the lives of others.

Quite right. A neglected garden or yard does not mean a bad person lives there. It might be they are having serious challenges that make keeping the yard clean seem a bit less than central to their lives at a particular moment. They may be old, disabled, sick or depressed just to name a few possible challenges. Neighbours can help. You are showing your help here. Valuable video that we can all learn from and emulate! Respect.

@Peter M. Why would you come up with all kinds of silly reasons such as life problems as reasons to not maintain a garden, maybe the owner just doesn't give a shit about gardening, which is his/her right. Maybe he/she bought the house because he/she liked the house, the garden just came with it.

I have seen this plenty of times. People are just lazy. Period. It's the entitlement mentality whereby that was Mommy or Daddy's job...but they ain't around no more so it ain't ever gonna get done. Work ethic gets watered down every generation entitlement goes up. Put the baby in the shade and spend an hour or two a weekend to at least clean and organize the shit laying around the year. Excuse makers are just as bad as the perpetrators.

@@TVCanTThat's a silly and shallow attitude. I have worked hard on the garden, but this year due to a bereavement, worries about my pension not being paid and the lousy weather, I've spent much less time on it. Mowing the lawn, yes, but weeds in some areas are rampant. It's a big garden and demands a lot of time, and motivation. The latter has been a struggle. Not an excuse. A statement.
Now I'm playing catch up, but the weather has again thwarted my plan for a Bank Holiday mow and weed blitz

Working full time, raising my daughter and renovating my old cottage on my own took all my time and money. It's only in the last few years, now that my daughter is grown, that I have time to tackle outdoors. I'm sure some of my neighbours thought I was lazy but theres only so much one person can do. I live on a farm and on a farm road. All the houses are well kept except one. He and She both work for the National Park Service (Wilson's Creek) and have good paying jobs. The house and the yard are an absolute freaking mess. Garbage, old cars, appliances, and God knows what are underneath 4 ft of grass, weeds, small bushes and trees that have taken over. The old wood siding has been eaten off the house by their goats and sheep. Yes, the wood is EATEN off by these goats and sheep. I'm not kidding. He came by my work one day (his mistake) and introduced himself to me and I immediately launched into a quiet tirade about his filthy yard and house. I told him he alone was driving down property values and he needed to get his ass home and clean his yard. No kidding. I minced no words with this lazy govt employee. I did not care if I got fired, I'm retired and was working part time. But I told him off for sure.

Have you noticed something is very off in the World today.
It's like the World leaders have read the Bible, because prophesy is jumping off the pages of the Bible.
      Jesus is coming soon.
      How can you be saved?
Believe Jesus, the Son of God, God the Son, died and shed his blood for your sins, paying your sin debt, reconciling you back, to God the Father. Jesus was buried, and he arose from the grave on the third day, beating Hell, Death, and the Grave. You can never be good enough to go to Heaven, only by the blood of Jesus Christ.
It is by his grace, that you can be saved, through your faith, in what he did for you, at the Cross. He did it all. Gods Grace, plus your Faith = Salvation.
      Grace + Faith = Salvation.
Don't be left behind. That's why Jesus died, to pay for "All of your Sins", so you wouldn't have to go to Hell. God imputes Jesus's rightousness onto you, when you believe, in what he did for you, at the Cross. That is the gospel,(Good News)
It is freely given to you, by God. You will never be good enough, to earn your Salvation, or keep your Salvation .But the Lord took care of that. He knew we would sin after we are saved. We live in fallen flesh, so God justifys us by faith, in his Son. God hates sin. But He loves us. He is Holy Holy, Holy.
When Jesus hung on the Cross, God poured out all his indignation and righteous anger for all of the sins of the world, past, present and future, onto Jesus his Son. Jesus took our place. He took what we deserve. That is mercy, my friend.
Once you believe, we are then Sealed, with the Holy Spirit of Promise. Once you are Saved, you are Always Saved. That is Gods gift to you. And that is good news.
Don't be left behind. He's coming soon, all the signs are here.
Faith in Jesus. He wants to be with you.

We moved into our house a few years ago and we both work full time and have prioritised making the inside of the house nice (as that’s where we spend most of our time) rather than the outside, I also didn’t think I would be able to make it look good or it would cost a lot to get someone in. From watching these videos I have learned that a strimmer, garden scissors and a jet wash can go a long way and I finally tackled my front garden this weekend. There’s still a long way to go to make it perfect but it’s definitely looking better. People shouldn’t judge others

Your so kind! And yes nobody should be judging anyone. As for people calling him lazy! That angers me! He works full-time and has a toddler, so he has two full-time jobs! He just needed a hand! He was blessed to meet you!
People need to know the whole story before saying anything! They honestly shouldn't be saying anything to begin with. If they were so concerned they should have stepped up and gave him a helping hand like you did! Your an amazing guy! Thanks for all you do!
I always say in the end of my videos to always be kind to others because we don't know what they are going through
And a simple smile or hello can turn their entire day around. Blessings to you and your family 🦋

We should never judge other people if we don't know the whole story. I was in the same situation when my mum needed nursing care and I was working full time. Two shifts a day and the garden was getting out of control. Only got hate comments from the neighbourhood about the garden. I wish I'd had someone like you to help me. Great respect for your work and how you help other people.

You are right be kind to others. This fellow is a single father ( definitely not an easy task at best) works full time ( we don’t know what are the conditions there) , as other responsibilities and tries to maintain a house as best he can. Don’t judge a person in any way. As for the backyard work, excellent. It’s absolutely a positive way to make the owner happy,a weight off his shoulder and shut the neighbour opinion off.

Everyone does something different with their gardens in the UK - some will have flowerbeds, some will have trees, some will have a wild garden, and some will prefer some harder surfaces so they have a table and chairs outside, or so their children can use their bikes on it. We’re all individuals, but most Brit swill prefer a greener area. It’s very much no one else’s business what neighbours do with their gardens, though. We really value our privacy and right to do what we want with out own spaces.

In alot of cases, people with physical or mental issues/challenges just cannot get out to do maintenance on the property. When you're dealing with these issues gardening isn't a priority. We show never judge because we don't know their circumstances. Wouldn't it be much more peaceful and kinder if the neighbour took the time to check on their neighbour and helped out!

One thing that stands out to me after watching many of these clean up videos is, not only the condition of the fencing, but also the several types of fences used. It seems that a lot of the fencing has been cobbled together. I’d love to see someone come in and repair fences, too.
