The real issue is why people continue to “cross” that line and I believe a big part of the reason why this keeps happening is because people think that they have this grand plan in place to ensure that they do not get caught, but little do they know is the truth always comes out no matter how much one tries to hid. Time will eventually reveal the truth, always, period.

I totally understand Linda! I grew up in quite a chaotic household (alcoholism) I had a teacher who used to leave his door open so if the drinking got bad/loud and I couldn’t sleep, I would go to his apt and sleep on their couch. To this day, I don’t know what I would have done, or how I would have turned out, had it not been for that teacher. He even took me to Alanon meetings so I could better grasp why and what was going on in my own home. (I’m sure he never told my mom) I’m in my mid/late 50’s now and have tried to find that teacher to thank him for all his help when I was younger, but sadly I haven’t had any luck. Nowadays teachers would never do that, for fear that it would be taken the wrong way. :-( Things sure seemed simpler back then. 💕

It was nearly 40 years ago when she (then around 27 years old) was caught having sex with minor boys. She got fired, lost her teaching certificate and immediately left the state. She escaped arrest and prosecution back then; nowadays, she would have surely been arrested (and should have been back then!). In addition to Cross becoming unglued before the jury even entered the courtroom, she had to be carried out of the courtroom when she started having trouble breathing after the judge passed the sentence. I almost feel like having the two boys who she previously had sex with might have helped her, giving the defense a narrative that those two boys had told people and that the accuser in this case had just made up a rumor that he'd had sex with her too so he could be cool.
