      He didn't say anything new though. This is a well-known playbook. At least I've known it. They look for fatherless homes, single moms, who are overwhelmed, financially unstable, lonely, isolated kids, possibly bullied or ostracized. They groom the children and the parent(s). They use their authority - religious figure, coach, teacher, "pillar of the community" to gain trust, stock up on "fun" stuff at home - snacks, toys, videogames (even porn for teen boys), drugs, beer, booze, depending on age group and sex they are grooming. They praise, compliment, help, make the child/family make them feel helped, special.
      All of that as a child or a parent would make me suspicious asf. I do not trust people. I'm not your friend. Takes me a long time of observation to even socialize or chat with you, but their way more trusting people than me out there. Our mom warned us constantly about predators when we were kids. Parents really need to know these things and constantly warm there children and never allow them alone with adults, even family members.

    Thank you thank you for being so gentle about this case. This one hits home for me: I was born and raised in South Chicago--not Hyde Park where he's from, but closer to Roseland/West Pullman. EVERYONE knew. The hood knew and MANY of us (mainly women) complained and called the schools he had his men hunting at and no one did anything because they often picked the girls up as soon as their feet stepped off of school property. So the school would shake their heads and say "not on our property." Then he threw money at these families--poor people having never even left Illinois in their lives were now getting 1st class plane tickets and luxury hotels to places like Hawaii. Just to sell their daughters. Horrible. He would hang out in parks and malls, just on the prowl, looking for souls to steal. He outed himselves in interviews ("how old is 15?"), then throw money around.
    We felt like NO ONE cared about our little girls becasue they were poor and Black. And he taunted us after he was found not guilty...after the case was thrown out. Letting us know: Yeah, I'm evil and I got away with it.
    I also remember a small group of my coworkers gushing about seeing "the video." One woman remarked that she "was looking for him" after she saw...what he did to that poor girl. The men saying that she was old enough to know better...calling her fast and saying she had textbook daddy issues. Just trash behavior. I really wanted him to get life in prison. And at the same time, I want him to live forever.

Personally I was raised properly by a woman who taught me about consent and the age of it, not to mention the importance of knowing what predatory behavior is in various forms. Unfortunately many of our peers weren’t taught the same and therefore developed a warped sense of sexuality, sex, consent, and all that comes with it.

    So happy to see yall going after R.Kelly and soon P. Diddy. It’s so important to expose predators who take advantage of members of their OWN community only to turn around and use that same identity they share with their community to shield themselves from criticisms of their own predation! Thank you 🙏🏽 so much
    Edit:IDENTITY SHIELDING, to elaborate; is when the accused claims the alleged crimes they’ve done are only being brought up now because of the accused being apart of one or more underprivileged groups which would be ironic and especially here as the victims are also apart of these one or more underprivileged groups (not to say members of a shared identity group cannot internalize and perpetuate violence amongst each other ,hence; the necessity of the term “Identity shielding”) as claiming as much mainly serves for the accused to be protected by their community blinding them from identifying how themselves and actual predators are contributing to the cycle of predation amongst underprivileged people.

    Three R.Kelly stories from living in Chicago, I have a few more but these are the most interesting. (1) My aunt started rapping at 15 and performed at clubs around the Southside. At one show, R.Kelly was there. When she got off stage he invited her to the back and immediately asked her to the back. When she got back there he asked her to party with him, she said she was 15 but he was unbothered.
    (2) Now to the more crazy story. During college my girlfriend and our friends (all women) heard about a big party. They went out to a mansion in the burbs. In front of it were women, dressed to the nines, and busses with blacked out windows. The women were asked to line up and a man walked by and said "you, you, not you, not you, you", etc. They all were chosen and got onto the bus. It drove in circles for about an hour until it got to an even larger mansion, where they were asked to give their phones, but one of them hid their's. When they entered there was a club on the first floor. Onto the stage comes R. Kelly and women just start rushing him, he is wearing a crown and cape. Sufficiently put off, they snuck around the house where he had paintings of himself on the walls. The only pictures they pulled off were from sneaking outside.
    (3) I have a close friend that I have known since elementary school who has become an actor. He was the star of a show that lasted one season on BET and has had small roles in big TV shows and big roles in small movies. Shortly before the doc on R. Kelly started production, he met R. Kelly's manager. They hit it off and he was invited to one of R. Kelly's homes. My friend is one of the most engaging and charismatic people alive, so he and R. Kelly hit it off. He was invited back and this time he was asked to bring a camera (he also writes and makes short films). R. Kelly decided to sit at the piano and sing to him, as his elderly aunt sat beside him. Between songs he told the story of his sexual abuse and vociferously defended himself from the then piling accusations. My friend has never done anything with the footage.

Kelly and what he's done but always in a way that assumes that the viewer already knows a lot about who he is and what he did. So much stuff about celebrities is boring, not because they're uninteresting people, but because content about them is made for an audience that's already informed and invested.

    Knowing his backstory makes it so much worse. The cycle of abuse is brutal, and this is a great example of why it's so important to make sure everyone has access to mental health resources. Way too many stories of people who abuse kids begin with them being abused as a kid. If you have children, please learn how to recognize the signs that someone's harming your child, and put them in therapy as soon as you notice them so they don't do those same heinous things.

    • @legoqueen2445
      @legoqueen2445 23 дня назад +2

      Unfortunately, its the kids who have issues at home that are more at risk of being S.A. And most often it's either a family member or someone close to the family who S.A. the child. If the parents care enough about the child to get them therapy, then they're probably vigilant and involved in their kids lives and thus their child is less likely to be abused. Though even then, there can stilll be danger. My best friend's daughter was molested by her grandfather from a young age until she was 12 or 13 but my best friend didn't find out until her daughter was in her early 20s. The grandfather was caught molesting her daughter's 8 year old step sister. That's when the daughter finally told what happened to her. Then it came out that the grandfather had also molested his own daughter when she was a girl. 3 generations! He ended up going to jail. My best friend is a great mum and very protective of her kids, she felt so guilty that she had trusted her partner's father (the grandfather) to babysit her daughter.

    • @jaijai5250
      @jaijai5250 18 дней назад

      That’s not necessarily true, and doesn’t always correlate. Most victims of child sexual abuse are female, yet the vast majority of predators and abusers are male.

    • @jaijai5250
      @jaijai5250 18 дней назад

      @@legoqueen2445what a tragic story. Why did the mother allow her daughter to be in her father’s care, if she was abused as a child. If the grandmother was unable to provide a safe home for her own daughter, how could she provide one for her granddaughter.

    • @legoqueen2445
      @legoqueen2445 18 дней назад

      @jaijai5250 it's a bit complicated. So the grandfather had his wife and two sons originally with his wife. The girl who was the first one to be molested was actually a nice who came to live with the family and was raised like a daughter. (I don't know what happens to her parents). She never told anyone she was being molested by her dad/uncle (eventual grandfather to my beasties daughter). The wife and the man divorced. It's not clear if the wife had any knowledge of the S.A. One of the man's sons, let's call him Jack, got together with my bestie. Even that is suspect. She was 16 and he was 24 when they got together and she became pregnant quite quickly, she had 3 kids to Jack, the youngest was her daughter. Jack didn't have a good relationship with his mum but was close to his dad (now the Grandfather) so the Grandfather would babysit their kids. Jack himself was abusive and controlling, he would beat my bestie. It took her a long time but after 12 years, she finally left Jack. But he turned her kids against her so she was only able to get shared custody of her daughter. Jack eventually remarried, his new wife had a young daughter. The new wife found the grandfather molesting her daughter. When my bestie found out, she asked her daughter if anything had happened to her, that's when it came out that the Grandfather had done the same to her. Then when Jack's sister (cousin) was contacted and asked if she too had been molested, that's when she finally spoke about what happened to her. It's tragic. But my friend's daughter and Jack's sister all testified against the Grandfather and he went to jail. But it gets worse. The new wife found Jack also molesting her daughter, like father like son, so he has gone to jail too. The fact that he had seduced my bestie when she was 16 and he was 24 already shows he was a predator, unfortunately the 'adults' in my besties lives were useless and did nothing to protect or support her when she ended up with him.

Each different note and different instruments have their own unique color, so memorizing things, especially music for me, is super easy. I remember asking my mom what color a specific day was for her, and she was like, ??huh??? So, then, I thought I was the only one who had a weird brain, lol. So, for me, the word Monday is true red with deep burgundy on the edges, and Tuesday is kelly green. But for a sound person, they'll hear maybe a kazoo whistle when they think of Monday, and a low piano note for Tuesday. For a taste person, Monday could be chocolate, and Tuesday could be mangos. I believe the most common explanation is that it's caused by a miswiring of the brain. I also have diagnosed ADHD, another type of brain miswiring, so I guess it makes sense in a way, lol. I want to join others in thanking you for putting so much effort, research, and care into your videos. So many are content to throw AI slop over someone else’s footage and call it a day. But you guys clearly care about what you’re doing and take the necessary time and effort to do it.

    He knew full well how it felt to be the victim of sexual abuse, and yet he chose to spread that same trauma to countless women and girls.

    40:55 Found a mistake here. The article absolutely does call Kelly and Aaliyah's marriage illegal. Says the details of their illegal marriage was sketchy, not that the marriage itself was simply sketchy.
    Rest of the video was great though. Keep up the good work.

    "My mind's telling me no, but my body's telling me yes..." Bump n Grind just hits different these days. Hits like a ton of piss covered bricks to the predators (insert R. Kelly here) face.

      And Aaliyah’s “Age ain’t nothin but a number” is sick knowing he wrote that talking about 14 year old Aaliyah !!!

    • @Watermelon_Man
      @Watermelon_Man 23 дня назад +3

      @@Veronica_1683 NO! For anyone who was an adult at the time, you don’t get to look back and say that now. You knew that a 14 year old girl was singing about a sexual relationship and enjoyed the music anyway. (I’m not necessarily speaking about you specifically if you’re not old enough to have been an adult then)

      @@Watermelon_Man dude, I was a teenager and all the adults criticized Aaliyah and the kids didn't cause R Kelly "made hits"
      You see the op was a kid at the time
      I only saw teenagers acknowledging how sick R.Kelly was and is
