Picking a wedge for the bunker shot is great advice imo. I’ve played ‘standard’ wedges for years, just middle of the road 56 with 10 bounce. Recently fitted into a Vokey K Grind with 14 bounce and it’s been a game changer for me. Not fearing the bunker allows me to go more aggressively at greens.
I don't have a problem with my wedges at the moment however, it is always useful to see your information on all available tested equipment, from a unbiased and preferred point of view, statistics good and another excellent Video, thank you.
wedges are a funny game... with loft changes at the top of the bag, I find myself carrying 4 wedges (set PW is lofted like my old 9i 43*) so I cover it with a 47*, 52* for full swings, a 56* high bounce for soft bunkers and greenside rough, and a 60* with 4* bounce for tight lies and hard sand bunkers... I have the original MG1's (52.09*, 56.10*, 60.10*) that I gamed with my P770's and didn't mind them, but my new setup is so locked in I won't change it again... I tried the Cleveland Full Face and TaylorMades High Toe and didn't like the visuals at address and the performance was so, so... loved the video as always Hannah, keep up the good work...
I have the hi- toe mg3 and love em in my bag at the club...in my travel bag I have Mg4s and miss the hi-toe but love the bite...TM found the balance. Wow these are super wedges and I'd put em against any wedge on the mkt...more people need to give em a try...
Saw these this morning in an email for a retailer and thought they look great. Interesting hearing your thoughts and seeing the results. Haven''t really enjoyed my ping ones since I got fitted and lost confidence with them, especially in dry and tight conditions. Maybe need to go and try these out. Cheers Hannah. :)
I have two 60 degree wedges, one for summer, when ground is firm and grass is tight, so 4 degrees of bounce, one with 12 degrees for winter when playing conditions are the opposite
Great video as usual , been looking forward to these dropping. Wanting something that can be opened up off tighter lies but still usable out of fluffier heavy sand. Sounds like the ATV is the best option? But not sure.
I’m thinking about going regular mg4 for the 50 degree then hi toe 54(10S) and 58(08C) as the 58 can be used for the firm lies then opening up the 54 for fluffy lies and full shots

TM website has the ATV as shallow and medium, tight lie specialist not for steep attack? You also need to take into account the amount/width of the sole the bounce figure applies to - that is the effective bounce, which is more relevant than just a bounce number on the sole
yes i'm very shallow so was trying to get more medium. I personally think from testing it would work for steeper players too due to the higher amount of bounce and how it reacted when i hit it
I love hi-toe wedges, have a pair of PXG in the bag. I love the cleaner new look. I just can't rock with the middle-school font, TaylorMade. Can't do it.
Your advice on what to look for and how to determine what you may need is especially helpful, and can be applied to any brand and model. I don't play that often and use game improvement irons. I switched to Cleveland CBX2 (now replaced by the CBX4) wedges a couple years ago, and I find this cavity back design is a more natural carry-through of design with my irons than the bladed wedges I used earlier.
Curious if since the Qi line of irons are the most forgiving easiest to hit for hackers like me …do the Qi wedges follow that same forgiving easy to hit idea? I don’t know if im good enough /able to decide which grind is best for me ,and im more a weekend hacker who skips weekends 😬. Meaning im not willing to spend hitoe money on a guess, but will spend a bit on something thats considered just overall easier in general ….not sure but believe im more of the over the top swinger as my long club miss tends to be an ugly slice …but usually miss dead straight to left on wedge and short irons…right now im just using old RAC OS 56 and 60 (and the A wedge from my Qi set )to some success,especially with a toe down 56 chip shot being able to control roll out ,and 60 cleanish shot out of sand ..

@@samuelknott5586 they are aimed at higher handicap golfers TaylorMade specifically told me that, doesn’t mean they won’t work for others. The tour % is much smaller than milled grind for example. I do actually prefer these to milled grind though and I am a lower handicap so there is loads of personal preference to it

Great Video, I play links golf with very tight lies and steep bunkers. I currently have 54 & 58 in the bag which grinds would you recommend.

I would recommend the hi-toe big foot wedges in 60 and 56 they are TaylorMade’s most forgiving option 🙌🏻

Always frustrated me that the low lofts 50/52 have less grind options, the low bounce C grind would be perfect at 50°

100% not aimed at higher handicap golfers, many pros have them in okay, they just offer people something different to normal wedges.
