- NEW Hi-Toe 4 Wedges are here from TaylorMade and today I jam pack the information on this new product into one upload.
Be sure to stick around to the end to reveal a test you can do to ensure you’re playing the right bounce.

You saw the first look with Grant Horvat , now let’s go deeper into what to look for when it comes choosing your Hi-Toe 4. I will discuss experiences and findings from working with top players in the world including Jon Rahm and his impact on the 4 way camber 60* option.
We’re going to move from green side chips , through to bunker shots and then pitching and discuss how each area of the short game leverages a different section of club design.
Bounce can be complicated so dive in the #comment section with any questions but this video should get you closer to understanding how the sole design would work for your style of play.
#subscribe and follow for more equipment education and explanations as to how you can get the most out of your club choices.

I still have the OG hi toes, very good out of the bunker but the fad personally grew off for me. I personally couldn’t get over the looks
TROTTIE☝️
Trottie baby!
I had the MG3 60.10 in the bag, and I really love the MG4 56.08 grind.
I saw the ATV hi toe 60.11 and essentially rolled the dice with zero testing. I had a chance to play around with it out of the bunker and on tight lies, and it's so easy to nip.
Oddly enough, it has a much different feel getting through the sand. I almost prefer the MG3 60.10 interaction more. It took 40 balls to get a good feel on how the 60.11 operated in a bunker. The ATV is much more versatile out of the bunker. I would love to have compared the ATS vs. ATV in the sand, but so far, i really like the ATV on tight lies.
The problem is the upright appearance doesn’t go away; hard to get used to. Going back with my next set. Not really needed in my estimation.
Full Face Grooves and CG but I hear ya..... it's a preference
My hole in one, handful of hole outs and many around the green chip ins have ALL mostly come from my 52 and 54 ATV original 2012 and 2014 TP wedges. I was afraid @Taylormade would never make them again lol
I play the older atv grind wedges now, would it be best to go to the atv high toe?
Just bought a 58.8C and 54.10S can’t wait for them to arrive 😮💨
Trottie . Just about missed this video. Would love to try a hi toe 60.
Gotta love new grooves out of the bunker!
Trottie. Liked the Callaway PM Grind as well. Full face is what us ams need for forgiveness!
it would be wrong if we didn't tip the cap to the Eye 2 as well
@@trottiegolf Agreed

Taylormade website says the atx is the most forgiving sole 🤔.. trottie said you need good hands
@@anthonygiuliano6574 Tiger told me so 🤷🏻♂️…. But I’m not going against Tiger 🤣
Trottie do you know any fitters in Ireland that you would recommend?
Sorry I do not
Trottie what’s your thoughts on rusting wedges do they actually add spin due to additional friction
@@SW__G0LF if you let them rust naturally it’s not gonna hurt you. Fresh wedges are the way to go. Raw face & then personally I like a raw whole club too but I understand why folks don’t want that. Do they spin more. Yes
I use the MG3, which are great, im. Now concedoring the hi-toe and big up Trottie from the UK
Start in the L wedge and see if you like it 👊
Trottie!!! Love the Hi Toe wedges!!

I finally found the one 🙌

Love your stuff Trottie. Here in the UK it’s not possible to do an in depth wedge test like this, even pro’s who stock taylormade only seem to carry one or two demos. Would love if it was different. I play mainly links courses where I’m a member and like the c grind wedges best. Thanks
Exactly this. And the information I’ve been given is completely different from one website or video to another…
@@FabianRichardson-b1t Every manufacturer is gonna have a way of explaining things but this is how I approach bounce.
C Grind in UK not a bad option for the most part with links golf
On my wish list.
Trottie is the greatest fitter ever
These are top of the list for my new set of wedges. Here in southern AZ I end up with a lot of tight lies and hard pan bunkers. Is there a specific grind/bounce you’d recommend for that? I’m an 18 hcp, my chipping has improved recently but is still a weak part of my game.
Could you explain 56D and a 52D
D? Please expand
56 degrees and 52 degrees
@@ToddRodrigues-ts2tl D as in degrees? Got it. Yea I can expand. What would you like to know?
just a break down on the 56 and 52 like how you did with the 60

does the copperish finish wear off to raw over time with use?
The face goes Raw the patina stays
@@trottiegolf im talking about the finish on the clubhead not the face. I know they come with the raw face
@@josephharrison6751 yes it's a patina finish and it'll oxidize but it shouldn't wear away
lol
I liked the mention of camber,it is often overlooked because there is no camber number on the bottom.
I’m deciding which ones to buy , this or the Edison wedges?
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Which grind is closest to the original hi to 60°? The ATV?
That or the S
Great video trottie
Trottie!!
"TROTTIE" 🤙

Would these launch lower than the MG4 due to the weight in back? ATX (tiger grind) but launching lower would be an absolute killer
The higher weight will influence that for sure
@@trottiegolf Thanks for letting me know. Loved the Tiger grind on the MG4 since it sits really low and feels amazing for tight turf shots.
Trottie
Is the ATV grind the same as that of a few years ago? I don’t really dig much on pitch shots and I really liked the old ATV grind.
Yes very similar. I can't tell the difference
👍
TROTTIE!!
I think ats in a 58 will be best for myself. What would be the alternative in the regular mg4 wedge
58* 🤷♂ , I mean if that's what you want and need then 58*
@@trottiegolf really torn between ats and atv for it. The leading edge when opening the atv is tempting me
Seen a few contrasting statements from you, the website, and social media…
I’d say my hands are okay round the greens and would usually open the face with a 56 but also play some 1/2 & 3/4 shots with a 56. Would only use my 60 out of a bunker or round the greens with an open face.
Im an okay bunker player but want to get better.
Currently using SM9s, but I need more bounce (playing 56 8m 60 4t).
What would you recommend in 56 and 60? Steering more toward the ATS in both but I’ve seen so much contrasting information my heads fried
" Seen a few contrasting statements from you... "
Let's clean this up first. What has been contrasting as I want to set that straight
A 56 or a 60 out of a trap is situational
What makes you believe you need more bounce?
ATS is a very safe recommendation for sure. You can see from the video it's a user friendly wedge
@@trottiegolf thanks for the response Trottie.
What’s contrasting is the website says the best for tight lies is the ATV, but after watching reviews and other videos on RUclips along with checking social media, taylormade staff and the Instagram account have said the ATC is best for tight lies.
Also, the ATX is branded as the best out of sand but again others are saying to use the ATW.
Obviously it’s hard as we don’t have the availability of fitting sessions for wedges in my part of the UK and I will be ordering these wedges in October, so I really want to make sure I’ve got the best suited to my game. I think going with the ATS in 56 and 60 might just be that, but recently I had a Vokey fitting (I didn’t like the spin rates) and I was fitted best to 56 and 60s with 12 bounce… which puts me off the ATS a little.
Thanks for the response, really helping people like me out!
@@FabianRichardson-b1t
ATS - I've had the most success with that bounce for a general turf condition and the different angles of attack from the player
ATW - WIDE sole. I'd only go there if you struggle out of bunkers. For me this is the mid to high hcp
NOTE - THESE ARE GENERAL RULES
ATV - suits different angles of attack because you have the difference in camber (explained in this vid) ATV is all about how you as a PLYR use that bounce so it's tough to generalise
ATC - I agree. Low bounce. Generically leads to tight lies, firm turf but you have to be delivering the club efficiently to choose that over the ATS
Then I think we covered it.
I wouldn't say contrasting stories but I would say it's so situational and player dependent. Look at all the Rickie Fowler videos I've done with him on PIX Golf ball, we're often around the green. My first question is always talk about the shot and he always goes into the lie first.
Players check list. #1 is lie. That dictates shaft lean and shot type, therefore bounce and which part of the sole you're going to engage.
The lay up for the UK is the ATS. Hands down it's my favorite bounce option in these wedges because it's the most forgiving off of a wide variance of lies ..... FOR ME!
@@trottiegolf thanks Trottie.
After talking to my friends and coach regarding bounce, there’s a huge appeal in the ATX and the ATV because like you say - the versatility they offer on certain shots. And in the UK as you know; our conditions on the same course can change in minutes, not seasons… therefore having a the options of ATX and ATV in the bag is amazing.
I’m going to go with the ATS and looking forward to it
Thanks for the advice!
@@trottiegolf thank you! What’s the giveaway price 😲?
