Nice tent, I like the mostly solid inner tent, this is one of the reasons for the lack of condensation. I believe in the UK having a full ish solid inner isn't a big deal because we don't normally get temperatures at night that are ridiculously hot so it's not a big deal. Also the sandwiched layer of air between the outer flysheet and solid inner tent acts as insulation which works both ways. It helps to keep you warmer in colder weather and actually cooler in hotter weather and helps in reducing condensation. I know most people think having a full mesh inner helps to reduce condensation but it doesn't, it keeps bugs from bothering you but it acts pretty much the same as a single skin tent.
Have you done a storm test yet? I've just Watched a RUclips video where it leaked like mad because the vents were not seam sealed!!! I have this tent but haven't been out in the rain yet. I'm going away in two weeks and the forecast is rain so I'm quite worried
If you check my later videos i used it in a storm. It leaked at the guy out points but performed very well otherwise. I seam sealed them after and its been fine.
Yes, too many expensive ones out there and people assume you have to go expensive to get anything decent but not completely true in my experience. The only expensive thing I have is my winter down jacket and helinox chair but you could still get similar items for a lot less.
That looks like a pretty good tent Mike, plenty of room for us big lads, decent vestibules, good HH values and exoskeleton design. I think I would definitely leave the footprint on so it didn't turn into a kite when windy, catch you soon buddy, atb Paul 🙏🏕️🏕️🏕️😁
Yeah you've got experience of camping kites for sure 🤣 I think I'd only take it off if it was wet and the tent dry but that would be after packdown. Its a great little tent tbh 👍 cheers for watching. Should be up your way in the next month 👌

Nice looking tent… luv the color ….. with all the fabric on the inner that could definitely withstand 3 1/2 seasons …. Personally I don’t trust the exterior loops I would probably dab em with a bit of seam sealer just to be sure … thanks for the review … ATB Dave Mc
There isn't really any exterior loops that would leak unlike the lanshan. The tabs that connect to the poles are on the seam sealed joins so wouldn't have to seal them. I'll check next time I put it up but sure there isn't anywhere else it would need it tbh 👍

Love that you had to confirm that it was train and not you 😂😂 I did look at getting this tent a while back. Decent looking tent but can’t see why the footprint goes on at the end.
Yeah it seems odd but you can set it up in one go if its dry then you can pack it away in one go as well so some benefit. Can always use pegs first then remove them after I suppose. Great tent though. And it was.a train honest 😂
@@NoviceWildCamper I wish I has the tents to try out for myself. A guy just told me he had measured his Mongar to 205cm and from your video it seemed the Taiji 2 was shorter than the Star River. So, maybe the Star River is the largest tent?

Absolutely. Watch my 'calm before the storm video'. The tent did have an issue but sorted now and it is probably my favourite tent. Took it on a beach camp last night. Video out next week.

It's a great tent tbh. Leaked at the pole attachment points but after a little seam seal it was fine. I highly recommend this tent for the price. Its good in bad weather the problem is people tale it put in gale force then cry when it collapses. Spend another £600 and get a hilleberg if that's what they expect of a tent but for £170 you can't go wrong.

As I said, the vestibules aren't poled and have to be pegged, like you 😂 Free standing is fully solid and usable without pegs. Like the Cloud Peak or Soulo. This tent would have flapping doors without pegs.
That is a nice looking tent to be fair. Ahh I was just about to make a big head comment of some sort but wont through fear of censorship 😂 Evidently theres a lot more sheep here than in Dartmoor, totally different soundtrack. If you had to choose one would it be the Lanshan or this one?

Not really, specially with the 1p. The 2 is square so you can't get it wrong whereas I did put it on wrong on the 1p as without it being pegged out fully you can't tell which way round it goes due to the odd shape. Putting it on at camp is actually easier.
